Thank you for supporting the project with your donations and as hosts for each lounge. Vicky has prepared a schedule beginning in October for those of us who will be volunteering at Strickland. If you want to volunteer and your name is not on the list, please contact Vicky. My challenge to each of you is to share the experience that we have with others. Please bring your DKG Prospect Card to the October meeting. All we are asking you to do is to nominate someone that you would like to see as a member of Kappa Phi. The only requirements for membership are that the person be: employed as a professional educator at the time of her election; or retired from an educational position. We will send out letters to your prospective members and invite them to an orientation meeting. We will be extending them an honor to be a member of an organization that educates, inspires and encourages women educators. It’s a win/win proposition!!! See you all on October 2 nd ! Pat B received a very sweet thank you note from
Victoria Lassiter – Newman Smith High School. She is now attending Abilene Christian University. She writes:
“The financial assistance you have provided me has greatly lifted the financial burden of private education off of me and my
family and has allowed us to get a little excited for this new season of our lives. Your generosity is truly inspirational. I hope to
one day pay it forward! “

Strickland Project: We will be assisting at Strickland Elementary School again this year. DeDe Lacy, the principal, is delighted we are coming back. We will be on campus on Tuesdays. With several volunteering, the
commitment is looking like each volunteer will be on campus once every 6-7 weeks, so if you can help out, please contact Tina or Vicky. Thank you to all who brought food and gave of their time to
feed the staffs of Strickland and McLaughlin during their Open Houses. The staffs were thrilled with the good food, and we got to meet some very dedicated teachers.

Workshops from Technology to Music, from By-laws to Legislation, from Ceremonies to Archives
and Necrology and many topics in between were held, as well as workshops for guiding our new
officers in how to best pursue their tasks. And we had folks present to cover a whole lot of them. As
