ABOUT THESE INSTRUCTIONSInstallation of automotive stereo componentscan require extensive experience with a varietyof mechanical and electrical procedures.Although these instructions explain how to installKappa 10.5t tweeters in a general sense, they donot show the exact installation methods for yourparticular vehicle. If you feel you do not have theexperience, do not attempt the installation yourselfbut, instead, ask your authorized Infinity car audiodealer about professional installation options.

LOUD MUSIC AND HEARINGPlaying loud music in an automobile can perma-nently damage your hearing, as well as hinderyour ability to hear traffic. The maximum volumelevels achievable with Infinity speakers, combinedwith high power amplification, may exceed safelevels for extended listening. We recommendusing low volume levels when driving. Infinityaccepts no liability for hearing loss, bodily injury,or property damage as a result of use or misuseof this product.

ABOUT THE CROSSOVERPassive crossover design involves precise circuitdesign and component selection. Moreover, awell-designed crossover circuit provides anintended electrical response, when combined withthe electrical properties of the speaker, to providea particular acoustic response. Each enclosedcrossover has been optimized to provide a flatresponse when used with a Kappa 10.5t tweeter.

Do not use another brand or type of passivecrossover,or connect more than one tweeter to a

crossover. Doing so may damage the tweeter.

INSTALLATION TIPS • Always wear protective eyewear when using

any tools.

• Turn off all audio components and otherelectrical devices before you start. Disconnect

the negative (–) lead from your vehicle’s battery. • Keep speakers in their package until final

installation. When moving a speaker, alwaysrest it with the cone or dome facing up. Neveruse force to install any speaker.

• Check clearances on both sides of a plannedmounting surface before drilling any holes orinstalling any screws. Remember that thescrews can extend behind the surface.

• At the installation sites, locate and make anote of all fuel lines, hydraulic brake lines, vacuum lines and electrical wiring. Useextreme caution when cutting or drilling inand around these areas.

• Before drilling or cutting holes, use a utilityknife to remove unwanted fabric or vinylto keep material from snagging in a drill bitor saw.

• For door installations, check the clearancewith the windows throughout the range of thewindow’s travel, and verify that a mountedspeaker will not interfere with the windowcrank or power-window mechanism.

• If mounting speakers elsewhere, check forclearance around rear-deck torsion bars, glovebox or other structural elements.

• Do not mount speakers where they will get wet.

ABOUT PLACEMENTFigures 1 and 2 show possible speaker placementswith Figure 1 being more desirable. We recom-mend using the kick panel for mounting to obtainthe best staging and imaging in most vehicles.
