Principal’s Report
Reconciliation Week 2020 Our classes have been learning about National Reconciliation as we celebrate our National Week “In this together.” Terry and Mr King have been leading and sharing with our team some amazing resources that have been accessible to our staff and students. Reconciliation is a journey for all Australians; as individuals, families and communities while promoting and facilitating respect, trust and positive relationships between the wider Australian community and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples.
Traffic Movement As a community, it is important that we work together and park in designated spaces and do not cover our neighbour’s driveways. In the past week, local rangers and NSW Police have been sighted in and around schools in our area conducting random inspections. We acknowledge the parking around our school is tight, however, if we all work together and use the space effectively especially in our drop and go zone, this should help ease the situation. School Grounds
There should be no visitors to school sites unless they are essential. Essential workers include:
Approved contractors,
Department of Education Personnel and
Canteen workers.
We are asking parents/carers to have a discussion with your child around drop off and pick up procedures as during this time the Premier and Department are limiting site access.
Parents/carers are requested to remain in their cars where possible and if you walk to school, to drop your child off in a safe space prior to one of the entry points. At all times, adults except for family members should be at least 1.5 metres away from each other to adhere to social distancing guidelines.
Parents who need to access the administration building may do so through the main entry gate on Craigie Avenue.
Wherever possible, parent/carer/teacher meetings should be conducted over the phone or via one of the school’s social media platforms. We would also encourage parents/carers to contact their child’s classroom teacher or the administration team if they have a question. Our social media pages are for good news stories and providing information and are not manned 24/7.
We are thankful for the communities trust and cooperation during this difficult period.
Reporting and assessment
You will receive your child’s semester 1 report before the end of August (week 6, Term 3).
This may be a simplified version of the report you normally receive. Schools are encouraged to discuss your child’s progress with you before the written report is issued.

School Community Charter
As a school we endeavour to have collaborative, respectful communication with all stakeholders. The school community charter outlines the responsibilities of parents, carers, educators and school staff in NSW public Schools to ensure our learning environments are collaborative, supportive and cohesive. The charter also focuses on the following key statements:
We treat other with respect We prioritise the wellbeing of all students and staff
We work together with the school We create collaborative learning environments
We work in partnership to promote student learning We all play a part
By doing this we are ensuring respectful learning environments for all members of the NSW Public Schools communities.
Quality Work with Mr Moxon
It has been great visiting all 27 of our classes over the past week. I am super proud of our students as they have returned to school and are ready to recommence face to face learning. Students have been engaged in a variety of lessons and the staff are reporting that everyone is having a great time being back at school.
Our split recess and lunch breaks are also very successful and this process will be reviewed towards the end of the term.
The executive team who have been at the entry points to our school each day are enjoying all of the positive vibes as students enter the grounds of a morning. Well done everyone, keep up the great job!
