as composite materials gradually become a replacement for more traditional materials (metals, timbers and other plastics), there will be opportunities to move across various sectors in the industry and to gain experience nationally and internationally.
You’ll work with materials such as carbon, aramid and glass fibres to manufacture parts or assemblies to service many industry sectors.
apprentices will gain important knowledge about the processes and equipment associated with open and closed moulding.

What you will be doing
• develop knowledge about materials and processes
• mould preparation and mould release procedures for all types of moulding
• develop skills to construct basic and complex open moulds
