MahaVastu challenge: Right location of 'bin' can bring in treasures
With over 20 years of experimentation, experience and indepth research and analysis of Vastu
effects, MahaVastu has identified certain simple yet incredibly effective solutions to life’s basic
problems. Vastu Guru Khushdeep Bansal, who has thorough understanding of Vastu Shastra, has
understood the positive and negative affects of even those elements that have not been
mentioned in the ancient doctrine of Vastu. Subtle explanations of the objects' purpose and use
helped the Guru in decoding problems and finding ultimate solutions. One such solution to the
multiple problems of life lies in the placement of the waste or garbage bin.
Yes, there is no clear mention of a bin in Vastu Shastra, but after the four-step MahaVastu
analysis, it is found that energies emanated through the bin make it a powerful object that
should be placed in an appropriate direction to ensure positivity. The bin is used to throw away
unnecessary and useless things; in other words, it is a means to dump the waste. And the
activity of dumping or throwing away, as per MahaVastu, should be carried out only in specific
zones. If kept in a wrong direction or in the wrong zone, the bin can create possibilities of
positive energy being dumped along with the waste.
For example, if a bin is in kept in the zone of education, children at home will start losing their
interest in studies. Likewise, if a bin is in the zone of relationships, it will not only hamper
personal relations but have negative effects on professional ties too. Business professionals
might start losing clients and their payments can get stuck. Those employed in companies can
have misunderstandings with bosses and colleagues, creating stumbling blocks in their progress.
On the other hand, if the bin is in one of its ideal zones, which are East-South-East, South-South-
West and West-North-West, then the positive flow of energy will not be hampered and one will
have clarity of thought, get new ideas to grow, and have strong personal and professional
bonds.
MahaVastu research has identified the effects of the bin in all 16 MahaVastu zones. Some of
these are discussed below:
Page 2
North-East: The bin in this zone makes ‘thinking’ difficult. Residents feel confused, are not able
to focus on goals, and cannot make right and timely decisions. This has a direct negative impact
on their professional lives, keeping them cash-starved.
East-North-East: The bin in this zone makes residents lethargic and they start procrastinating
over things. They lack energy to rejuvenate themselves and live depressed, mostly lost in past
memories.
East: The bin in this direction can make people introverted; they do not realise the significance
of moving out and meeting people. Such people often get into trouble with their neighbours and
clients. Businessmen can suffer major losses and lose important connections.
South-East: The bin kept in this zone becomes the root cause for blocked payments in
business. Residents feel cash-starved all the time. Whenever something good is about to
happen, there appears to be some hurdle that blocks prospects.
Note: The information shared above is not available in any Vastu texts. It is an exclusive
research-based knowledge that has been shared in MahaVastu Handbook, the world’s largest
book on Vastu Shastra by Vastu Guru Khushdeep Bansal. To get more insights on the subject or

Power of 16 MahaVastu™ ZonesThe 16 MahaVastu™ Zones govern each and every aspect of our existence. They act as a
blueprint for our well-being.
"Each and every emotion and thought that appears inside you is generated by the 16
MahaVastu™ Zones (in your home) only."
These MahaVastu™ Zones have been adapted from Vedic Mahavastu and have been
modified to suit the contemporary needs of today's buildings. That is why even
architects and interior designers are learning and adopting principles of MahaVastu.
Each of the 16 MahaVastu™ Zones has its own attributes and effects. Each Zone is
governed by its specific element. These Zonal powers may be overactive or inactive,
primarily because of the imbalance of Panchtattva (Five Elements), thus adversely
affecting the lives of the people occupying that building. With the help of appropriate
colours, metals, shapes, symbols and various other techniques of MahaVastu™, these
Zones can be balanced and programmed as per MahaVastu to generate the desired
results in life.
Furthermore the kind of objects placed in a Zone affects your corresponding emotion.
Documented research in Vastu Shastra shows if you have a bedroom in the Zone of
Anxiety (East-South-East), you will never feel relaxed in it; rather you will have frequent
disagreements with your spouse. Similarly, your children get naturally inclined towards
their studies and do well academically if their study table is placed in the Zone of
Education (West-South-West). Likewise, if a toilet is there in the Zone of Gains (West),
you do not get the expected results. Let us now take a look at these MahaVastu™ Zones
and their influence on your life.
Page 4
North-East (NE)
It is the Zone of Wisdom, Meditation and Inspiration. In Vastu, this Zone is ideal for
Meditation.
East of North-East (ENE)
It governs Fun and Refreshment in your life. It is the ideal Zone for a Family Lounge.
East (E)
The energy generated by East Zone facilitates the Social Connectivity. It is the ideal
Zone for a Drawing Room.
East of South-East (ESE)
The balanced state of this Zone imparts depth to your thought and gives you a deeper
understanding of life's processes.
South-East (SE)
Also known as the Fire Zone, it is the Zone of Money.
South of South-East (SSE)
If in a building this Zone is depressed, its occupants will lack Strength and Confidence.
South (S)
Most importantly, this is the Zone of Fame, Recognition and Social Reputation.
South of South-West (SSW)
In Vastu Shastra, the energy of this Zone removes all that is 'waste' and useless in your
life. A lack of this energy results in a lot of time, money and effort being wasted on
unimportant things, fruitless thoughts, unimportant discussions etc.
South-West (SW)
It is the Zone of Skill, Marriage, Family Harmony, Bonding, Stability in life and
Relationships.
West of South-West (WSW)
The West of South-West is the Zone of Studies, of repeated Practice or vidya abhyaas ,
knowledge and education.
West (W)
The energy of this Zone ensures that no action or effort made by you goes waste.
West of North-West (WNW)
It is the Zone of rodhan i.e. stress and depression.
North-West (NW)
The North-West Zone generates the energy that attracts Supportive and Helpful people
for any cause you pursue.
North of North-West (NNW)
This is the Zone of attraction and sex, sensual enjoyment and sense of fulfillment.
North (N)
As North Zone represents Money or Treasure, its energy helps you to generate New
Opportunities to earn money.
North of North-East (NNE)
If this Zone is disturbed, your Body-Resistance and Immune System weakens, making
you prone to illnesses from which recovery is slow
Page 5
Effect of 32 Entrances The effects of an entrance are always very powerful whether positive or negative.
Crucially, the entrance of a building is the point at which the Space enclosed by the
building communicates with the Universe.
The Space of every building is only a part of the vast Space of the Universe. But these
two represent different levels of consciousness. The Space outside a building refers to
the conscious mind, and the Space inside the building refers to the sub-conscious mind.
Through the entrance to one's Space i.e. building, one moves from one level of
consciousness to another - that is, the main door represents the shift from the conscious
to the sub-conscious level. Naturally the location of the main entrance of a building is of
prime importance.
For analysing the effects, you should understand how to identify the entrance location
on the plan. According to MahaVastu™, by dividing the 360° around the centre of a
given Space into 32 equal 'Angular divisions' - each measuring 11.25°, you get 32
possible locations of entrance to the built-up Space. This is the path-breaking approach
Page 6
of MahaVastu™, which places it above all other methods being used in the name of
Vastu.
Once you have calculated the Entrance Locations as per MahaVastu™, only then, you
can match the symptoms of the building with the corresponding effects. Symptoms of
the building refer to the adverse or beneficial situations being faced by the inhabitants
like: abundance of money; career-success; not receiving payments on time; frequent
accidents and mishaps; miscarriages etc.
Once the symptoms are found to be a 100% match with those mentioned in
MahaVastu™, then by using different techniques of MahaVastu™, which basically involve
MahaVastu™'s Theory of Five Elements, (normally, in the form of colours, or/and metals)
the negative effects of that entrance can be nullified.
Influence of 5 ElementsThe causative nature of the five elements: Water, Air, Fire, Earth and Space are the key
to the study and practice of MahaVastu™.
The foundation of MahaVastu™ is Sankhya Darshan (Indian Metaphysics), which is the
basis of all Indian sciences like Yoga, Ayurveda, Tantra and many more.
The entire Universe, whether it is stars, planets, moons, or any form of life, is made up
of these five elements. In buildings each direction is dominated by one element - a
balanced state being the cause of positive, and an imbalanced state the cause of
negative effects.
It is the balance or imbalance among these Panchtattva that makes one's Space a
virtual heaven or hell.
An underground water tank in South Zone will cause anxiety, fire-accidents, restlessness
and disturbed sleep. Similarly, the fire placed in North Zone (Zone of Water) will block
new opportunities, receipt of payments and lack of orders, as they are attributes of this
Zone. So here in these examples, you can see how an imbalanced state of elements in a
building creates problematic real-life situations.
WaterIt is associated with conception of new ideas, clarity of thoughts, creation of new vision,
flowing of new opportunities in your life, healing energy, immunity and restoration of
health. Water dominates the North direction in buildings.
Page 7
Balanced State
When Water is in balanced state in a building, the people in such buildings are able to
see the larger picture of life. Though their attitude towards life becomes spiritual and
philosophical, they are, at the core, essentially, worldly beings.
AirAir represents growth in your life. It is also associated with movement, especially
rotational movement, so it brings refreshment, fun, joy and happiness in life. This
element dominates the East. The Chinese call it the Wood element.
Balanced State
Air gives you the courage to try new things, take risks for your growth and to explore
your inner-self. You get to meet people who pave the way for your growth and you
perform impressively.
FireFire is the driving force behind all life processes and thus is equated with money in
modern era. It can transform your life with confidence and enthusiasm. South is the
direction of Fire.
Balanced State
In its balanced state, Fire brings you fame and recognition among the masses. It gives
you zeal, power, strength, confidence and money, which become the driving force
behind life and its processes.
EarthMother Earth gives stability. balance, infinite patience and maturity in character are
imbued by this element. Earth dominates the centre and diagonal directions in every
built-up Space.
Balanced State
When balanced, this element induces stability in your life - be it your career, behaviour,
relationships, or results of your efforts. It encourages towards a feeling of peace and
harmony with the entire world - especially with those related by blood.
SpaceSpace represents expansion, enhancement, extension, spread, communication and even
thought process (Mental Space). Space dominates the Western direction. The Chinese
call it the Metal element owing to perfect space configuration in metals (Atomic
Structure).
Balanced State
In a balanced state, Space gives you the charge of your destiny. It gives you a sense of
direction and the ability to get organized, ensuring that you excel in all that you do.
Space gives you the knowledge and awareness to understand new, creative and
beneficial ideas.
Page 8
MahaVastu™ ProgrammingSymbolsSymbols are the formulator (sutradhar ) of the conscious and the sub-conscious mind.
And man has had this innate knowledge from the very beginning, right with the creation
of the world. According to linguists, development of language has taken place from
symbols only. Symbols are an integral part of human life and mind, even today.
The human sub-conscious mind understands only the language of symbols. The
expansion of the sub-conscious mind is in two domains - first the sub-conscious mind of
a human being and second the inner space of a building. The human mind evolves from
the Space where he lives - the space inside the building. The philosophy of MahaVastu™
believes - Bhawna (emotion and intention) is the daughter of Bhavana (building).
Emotion and intention are the driving forces of your life.
CPU AnalogyThe analogy of computers serves best to understand the process of both the conscious
and sub-conscious mind. Conscious mind is the monitor and sub-conscious mind the CPU
(Central Processing Unit). The CPU works according to the information registered on the
monitor. It does not perform any analysis on its own. The language of CPU is altogether
of a different type. Ninety-five percent of regular computer users do not know that
Page 9
language; though, it is used for programming of computers. A computer program is like
a set of instructions, written in that particular language. Similarly, the conscious mind
gathers information through the five senses (Eye, Ear, Nose, Tongue, Skin), visuals
through the eyes in form of paintings and colours, sounds in the form of music or noise
through the ears and touch from textures through skin. Different objects in the external
world create the complex language for the sub-conscious mind. Information picked
unknowingly by the sub-conscious mind creates the life you live. Understanding of this
language and using it to manifest the life you desire is the basis of MahaVastu™
Programming.
Symbols 'Speak' to usWhen placed in a building, a symbol represents something - it says something to our
sub-conscious mind, which then begins to act accordingly. This activates the natural
Earth energies to generate a specific effect towards the fulfillment of our desires - once
these energies sense our desires, they program our sub-conscious mind accordingly and
thus set us moving towards the achievement of our goals.
Thus by placing an appropriate symbol in the appropriate MahaVastu™ Zone related to
our wish, we can program our Space for its fulfillment. For example, for a loving
relationship with your spouse, put a symbol of Love Birds in the MahaVastu™ Zone of
Relationship. Your Space will get to know what you want and you and your spouse will
sub-consciously start behaving in a manner conducive for a cordial and loving
relationship between the two of you. Thus, helping us read into the symbolic messages
from the Universe; and take the desired steps to convey our wishes to the Universe
through the use of symbols and objects - is what makes MahaVastu™ unique.
Law of Universe
The Law of Universe is: the world is created out of the experience of joy. The Universe is
conscious and full of joy. The Hindu Alchemy of Space says, that to experience itself,
Universal Consciousness (Param Atma) created the world, which is full of joy! Desire is
'consciousness on a journey to joy'. Desire drives you and your life, to experience joy,
thus, creating a new world for you. In this process, joy creates the world. And even while
experiencing the joy, we are the creation of joy. Little wonder we got created when our
parents were passing through an experience of joy.
A part of Universal Consciousness (Param Atma) is human consciousness (Atma / Soul)
wrapped in five layers (Panchkosha) and manifested through five elements (Panch
Tattva). Every soul has one common goal, i.e., to Experience Joy. The paths may be
different-someone wanted to experience the joy of flying and hence created airplanes;
someone desired to experience more speed and created cars. Similarly the whole world
is created in the joyous state of consciousness. The purpose of human birth is to
experience joy by manifesting the core desire. As per Hindu philosophy, the soul will
Page 10
keep taking rebirth as long as it has not manifested its core purpose, for which it got
separated from the Universal Consciousness.
A problem or pain is an indication of deviation from core purpose, like disease (means
being not at ease) is a deviation from the natural flow, known as health. Restoring back
to flow makes us free of pain or disease. On the way to manifestation of core purpose,
money, power, comforts and health, are by-products.
To experience joy or self, Universal Consciousness created three aspects:-
1. Us
2. A Cosmic Clock, comprising the solar family and the whole phenomenon of our galaxy,
to keep time of the events.
3. A total manifestation ground, viz., the Earth, which is encircled with horizontal and
vertical energy lines.
As soon as part consciousness takes birth as a soul, it gets programmed as per the
position of planets and stars at that particular point of time. The chip (like the one
present in a computer or mobile phone) carrying all that programmed information for
our future is fed inside us as the deeper state of human mind, also known as
subconscious mind. This part of the mind is responsible for all the body functions and
the life we are living right now. All events and situations in life are as per the movement
of planets and stars.
Influence of Stars & Planets
Stars and planets, the objects of the external Space (Universe), are responsible for the
programming of your sub-conscious mind at Manomaya Kosha . This creates the life you
are experiencing now. Your purpose of life, your goals, your choices, inborn habits,
inclinations of mind, your reference points of happiness and pain, your own philosophy
of how you lead your life, are some part of that programming, among many more.
The movement of the stars and planets in their respective trajectories act as a Cosmic
Clock for timing the events in your life, and programming your sub-conscious mind. Man
understood this secret 12000 years ago. Since then, he has been studying stars,
planets, and their movements, in order to understand the core (or true) purpose of his
being on this planet. This has helped him manifest his core desire and experience the
eternal joy by focusing his attention and energies on his 'true purpose' only.
Man has understood this fact very well that the cause of misery and pain lies in
deviation from his core purpose. And to keep himself aligned, man has been observing
the stars for ages. That is also how the development of Hindu Astrological System
( 'Jyotish') initiated.
The word 'Jyotish' means "Illuminated Divine Lights Showing the True Path". The word
'Religion' means "Getting Aligned Again". In Hindu Astrology, the Moon stands for the
Page 11
sub-conscious mind. Whereas, Mercury is considered to stand for the ordinary conscious
mind, with analytical and reasoning faculties. Only in Hindu Astrology, the timing of
events is worked out from position of the Moon at birth time. When the Moon is studied
for seconds, minutes and degrees (120° for 120 years), then a certain combination of
planets gives accurate timing of events. This calculation goes up to the accuracy of an
hour for happening of an event in one's life. This system is known as 120 year situation
method (Vimshottari Dasha Padhhati), given by eminent Hindu astrologer Sage Parashar
In 5th Century B.C.
Hindu mystics decoded the mystery of life thousands of years ago. The most amazing
part is that they mathematically derived the process of evolution for an individual,
based on planetary positions at birth, their transits and their programming for sub-
conscious mind. More into this understanding is, working evolution of Chakras with
position of planets in the birth chart of an individual. In the application of MahaVastu™,
the birth chart is studied from this angle. The design of building is then decided. Each
individual horoscope is unique with its own purpose on the planet. Even Greeks in the
past studied horoscopes with this thought in mind. So that by defining one's purpose,
structures can be made to perform the desired function.
Effect of Earth Energies
Earth is the manifestation ground for desires of Universal Consciousness ( Param Atma)
through human consciousness (Atma). To manifest our purpose or core desire, nature,
like a manager, facilitates all necessary powers and conditions. The Earth is encircled
with energy lines, both horizontally and vertically, thus creating energy grids. Hindu
alchemists recognized them as Mandalas. They went further in this discovery; they
recognised the usage of individual Mandalas to fulfill specific purposes.
In 1952, a German scientist Manfred curry found these energy lines and termed them as
Curry Lines. His colleague Earnest Hartman in 1967 found that diagonal patterns existed
also and termed them as Hartman Grid. They found that neurological disorders and
cancers are due to sleeping on the crossing of these lines. He worked out that there are
certain energy fields on the Earth that are responsible for the healthy body or the
diseased body. Hartman particularly collected the case studies, which showed that all
the neurological problems are due to Earth energies and cross intersection of those
lines. If people are sleeping on intersection of those energy lines, and particularly if
some water stream is also passing through that crossing of lines, then that person will
have neurological problems, or neurological disorders. And if it is the only energy line
that is crossing and the person is sleeping on that - whichever part is lying on that
energy grid or the line crossing that will get affected negatively. To remain healthy, it is
recommended to avoid using those cross-intersections of lines.
Page 12
As Hartmann said, problems are only due to sleeping on the energy lines, which we call
as 'Marmasthan' in MahaVastu™. However, Vastu Shastra goes into much more detail.
Hartmann developed certain methods to detect those Earth energy lines and to avoid
the intersections for sleeping and, you know, even if you puncture the intersections, the
negative fields will be created and negativity will be there in the space.
About 10000 years back, Vastu Shastra avoided the MarmaSthans, the sensitive points.
Hartmann was able to detect those Earth energy lines on the Earth only, but in
MahaVastu™ we have those formulae to check the energy lines even in the built up
space.
In MahaVastu™, these Natural Earth energy lines are used as carrier waves. We, as
MahaVastu™ Experts, connect your space with the whole world, to manifest your desire -
this is what VastuShastri Khushdeep Bansal discovered in the due course of his
research. He says there is a purpose behind everything on Earth. The purpose of these
energy lines, and the fields in their Grids (Mandalas) are meant to connect the whole
world, and become complementary to fulfill each other's purpose.
Five Layered Human Being
A human being is part consciousness (Atma - soul) wrapped in 5 layers known as
Panchkosha in Vedanta. The layers are Physical Body (Annmaya Kosha), Energy Body
(Pranamaya Kosha), Mind Body (Manomaya Kosha), Intuition Body (Vigyanmaya Kosha),
and Joy Body (Anandmaya Kosha).
Anandmaya Kosha is part consciousness (Atma) carrying the core desire with a purpose
to manifest and experience joy. This innermost core body of one's being has a pure part
of Universal Consciousness (Parma Atma) experienced as eternal joy or bliss. Other
functions of this Kosha (body) are co-creation like the Creator himself, peak experiences
of super consciousness and sexual ecstasy (beyond normal sexual pleasures).
Vigyanmaya Kosha is the second innermost layer which is responsible for all the new
knowledge and intuitive functioning of human beings. The other functions of
Vigyanamaya Kosha are ordinary awareness for day to day intuitive working, which
facilitates you in deciding what to do next and how to do it. Only from this Kosha do you
Page 13
get intuitive solutions in intense situations when the logical mind is not able to answer
your questions. The natural function of healing inside the human body is also governed
by this Kosha.
Manomaya Kosha is the domain of functions of the human mind. This is the central layer
among the 5 Kosha. The function of this Kosha is primarily to receive information
through 5 senses and process that information for manifestation of core purpose.
Manomaya Kosha has 3 layers as recognized by contemporary psychology. They are
conscious mind, sub-conscious and super conscious state of mind. In Medical Science
these states are studied in brain wave theory and known as Beta, Alpha, Theta and Delta
states of brain activity. Through Yogic or Tantric meditations, awareness is expanded to
Alpha, Theta and Delta brain wave patterns, where an ordinary human being falls
asleep, that's when Alpha waves are activated in the brain.
In an experiment EEG tests (Electro Encephalogram - an instrument used to record brain
waves) were done while meditators were in meditative state. These EEG actually showed
Alpha to Delta brain wave patterns even while those meditators were in fully aware
state.
The conscious state of mind is responsible for perception through the 5 sense organs
and then taking action via the physical body to perform day to day functions.
The sub-conscious mind receives information from the conscious mind and stores the
complete information. In acute cases of emergency or through regular meditative
practices the sub-conscious mind receives knowledge from Vigayanamaya Kosha which
is called sixth sense or intuition. The deeper sub-conscious or super conscious state of
mind is when a person is aware at Theta and Delta brain waves. In this state of mind
person gives instant healing or give some innovative outputs.
The Pranamaya Kosha is energy body depicted by Kundalini, sun and moon channels and
7 Chakras along the spinal column. Each one of the 7 Chakras is responsible for
controlling different organs in the human body at conscious and sub-conscious levels of
mind. When awareness is extended to the super conscious state then these Chakras
open up to perceive the new realities of universe and start illuminating by healing all
the body functions. In Yogic literature the level of illumination and opening of these
Chakras is the basis for measuring the evolution of an individual's mind and soul.
Annmaya Kosha is the outer most and physical form of a human being- that is the human
body. The Annmaya Kosha is made up of 5 elements (Air, Fire, Earth, Space and Water).
It is nurtured and sustained by food (Ann), that’s why this is called Annmaya Kosha. In
Ayurveda disease is recognised as imbalance of tridosha - Vata (Air + Space), Pitta
(Fire) and Kapha (Water + Earth)]. Through physical body the part consciousness (Atma)
manifests the core desire to experience the absolute joy. But due to the conditioning of
social and academic environments a person gets programmed at the different levels of
different Koshas. Thus making him experience pain and miseries. To manifest one's
purpose on this planet, human beings create the structures in the form of buildings to
perform certain functions. And these structures become the living or working
environment for human beings.
In the Hindu Alchemy of Space; pain, misery and blockages of mind are due to the
deviation from the core desire of one's Anadamaya Kosha or soul. The living
environments are either supportive to Manomaya Kosha and Pranmaya Kosha or the
living environment also becomes responsible for negative conditioning and programming
and thus, cause problems in one's life. In MahaVastu™ the points of blockages are
Page 14
recognised at the different layers of existence thus creating a way for human
consciousness to manifest its core purpose.
Vastu Purush Mandala - Energy FieldsEvery building is governed by energy-fields which are termed as Devtas, these comprise
a vital element of MahaVastu™.
Man makes structures and buildings to perform certain functions in a building. As soon
as space is enclosed, it starts behaving as a scaled down model of the Universe.
Different energy-fields emerge automatically. These energy-fields react with human
consciousness. They alter, blend and redirect consciousness as per their own attributes.
There are 45 such major energy-fields in a building that control and influence
consciousness, and 980 minor energy-fields. These energy-fields are termed as Devtas
in Sanskrit. The meaning of the word Dev is, 'the one who is self-Illuminating'. As per
the property of the energy-field, their names were derived. In a building, the
combination of 45 Devtas is called Vastu Purush Mandala the one who is carrying 45
energy fields is Vastu Dev. These 45 energy fields or Devtas are mentioned in detail in
Vedas.
The presence of these Devtas has been felt at a specific place in any building. Exactly
the same form of energy (corresponding to a Devta) gets developed in exactly the same
portion/place/space, in a building, when it is constructed, forming a grid, which has been
termed as Vastu Purush Mandala .
It's really interesting to know the attributes of these fields. For example, Indra is Devta
or presiding God of East and contains the power of controlling influence. Symbolically,
Indra is considered as mind, the ruler of 5 physical senses. In a society, Indra represents
the ruling power that connects and binds people together.
Yama is the God of absolute rest and power to bring any phenomena to completion.
Completion of one's life on this planet is considered as death; so in Hindu Vedic
philosophy Yama is perceived as the God of death also. Varuna is the observer and
controller of worldly affairs, the presiding Devta of West. Gods of all the seas on Earth is
also Varuna. He is responsible for creating the governing protocols of the world.
Soma is a Vedic god of elixir of life and presiding Devta of North zone. He also has
properties of healing and sexual power. Transformation of sexual energy in elixir is
governed by Soma. Bhudhar carries the power to manifest. Aryama has the power to
connect with the world in order to (find a mating companion to) sustain the process of
evolution. Vivaswan controls the change, which in turn, initiates (manifestation of) the
whole existence.
Mitra, which has been invoked repeatedly in Atharvaveda , carries the power of holding
the world together; and, Aapaha boosts your immune system. In Vedic literature Aapah
is perceived as power that is responsible for all the flows in Universe. Sometimes that
very meaning comes very close to the flow of a river. So Aapah is responsible to
preserve the flow of life by empowering the immune system.
Now you can imagine, why you are the way you are! Hindus in the past clearly defined
the attributes of these energy fields; they developed the art of perfect placement of
different activities to experience the peak performance in their actions. Based on this
understanding, they made temples to such a great precision so as to fulfill their wishes.
VastuShastri Khushdeep Bansal believes that old Hindu temples are ideal examples of
Page 15
the application of the Alchemy of Space. The same knowledge tools are used in
MahaVastu™ to solve problems or to achieve your targets.
MahaVastu™ Procedure Flow ChartAn outcome of successful application of MahaVastu™ on more than 10,000 case studies,
this Flow Chart clearly guides you how to proceed 'Step - By - Step' in a practical case
study. Starting from identification of problem, it guides you systematically how to get
the desired results. The most beautiful aspect is that it guides you what could be the
probable reasons of not getting the desired outcomes from MahaVastu™ application and
how to correct your working.
Page 16
MahaVastu™ Bar Chart Method
VastuShastri Khushdeep Bansal has developed a scientific procedure to evaluate the
strength of each MahaVastu™ Zone. This procedure is known as the MahaVastu™ Bar
Chart. Its purpose is to evaluate the strength of each MahaVastu™ Zone to understand
the balanced and imbalanced states of zones, which are mainly due to a cut or an
extension in a building.
In modern architecture and contemporary life style development, it is not sure whether
all the built up Spaces will be regular in shape. In many apartment buildings one will not
find regular Square or Rectangular shapes. With the application of MahaVastu™ Bar
Chart method, it is possible to apply MahaVastu™ with maximum accuracy and
precision, irrespective of the shape of the floor plan. So it does not mean that one can't
get benefits of Vastu. MahaVastu™ Tools and Techniques can be applied in each and
every shape of buildings, whether they are regular or irregular.
For application of MahaVastu™ Techniques to either solve the problems or to get the
desired outcomes manifested, is very important to understand the strengths or
weaknesses of the building space where one lives or works. Only then can one decide
which areas of one's life need to be strengthened or balanced. The MahaVastu™ Bar
Chart method is also very important in deciding the procedure of the sensitive
techniques like Space Surgery and Space Extension, which, if applied otherwise, can
cause adverse results. As these techniques are like surgery on human body, they bring
results very fast without making demolitions in a building.
MahaVastu™ TechniquesIn total 16 MahaVastu™ Techniques are used to remove the Vastu faults in a building.
These are very powerful and effective techniques, at the same time very easy to do. You
Page 17
can observe visible differences after application of these techniques. With the discovery
of these techniques it has become possible to get desired Vastu solutions without
demolitions.
1. Elemental Strip TechniqueThis technique involves use of colour strips to correct the imbalance of the 5 elements
in a building. For this purpose, colour strips (3” - 4" wide) are painted or pasted (as
stickers) either on the floor, or on the skirting along the floor, to balance or strengthen
the negatively affected Zone.
2. Space Surgery TechniqueSpace Surgery Technique uses the metals, related with a Zone. This technique proves to
be very handy when it comes to rectification of bad effects of toilets and entrances
without making any demolitions.
3. Space Programming with SymbolsThe Space Programming Technique involves using specific Symbols to communicate our
desires, aspirations and expectations to the Space in which we live.
4. Space Programming with PaintingsTo help materialise your desires, VastuShastri Khushdeep Bansal has developed an
amazing technique of using Paintings and Photographs, in those Vastu Zones which
depict your desires.
5. Space Programming with SculpturesIn this technique, we place specific 3-D Artifacts and Sculptures in different Vastu
Zones, depending upon which aspect or part of our life we need or want to flourish.

also sub-conscious minds of occupants of the Space) in order to draw their attention
towards, and motivate them for a specific performance.
7. Activity Relocation TechniqueEach of the 16 Vastu Zones has some particular activity, which is not only best
performed in that zone, but which also strengthens that Zone. Any activity, other than
which is conducive for the Zone, when performed, will weaken the strength of the
concerned zone.
8. Enlightening TechniqueBy enlightening specific Vastu Zones with lights of appropriate colours, we can activate
the Zone effects. So they can be used to stimulate or activate an imbalanced Vastu Zone
and make it give results.
9. Amplifier TechniquePyramids are a powerful tool which, when applied judiciously, can augment the positive
effects of a Vastu Zone by 108 times.
10. Space Extension TechniqueThis technique makes clever use of mirrors to provide balance to a Vastu Zone. For the
problems arising on account of a cut or reduced area, we can apply mirrors on that
particular wall which is cut and needs to be extended.

11. Tattva ShuddhiThe Tattva Shuddhi Technique, basically, aims at correcting this elemental imbalance in
the affected Vastu Zone. When an anti-element appears (in the form of incompatible
colour, shape, or activity) in a Vastu Zone corrections are carried out.
12. Space Purifying TechniqueThis technique makes use of sea salt, minerals, and semi-precious stones which are
needed when the space is dull or non-vibrant; or its inhabitants are feeling low.
13. Facing The Right DirectionThe direction we face, while performing an activity greatly affects its outcome. So,
Facing the Right Direction while doing a result-oriented activity helps achieve the
desired outcome faster.
14. PlantsPlants represent growth; they have an activity of growth in themselves. So, plants can
be used to accelerate growth in our life.
15. Marma Technique (with Remedies)Vastu Shastra clearly mentions that there are certain sensitive or very sensitive points
(called Marmasthan) in the Space, which correspond to the sensitive body parts of the
Vastu Purush. In MahaVastu™ we use them creatively to rejuvenate Space energies.
16. Locating Power Point TechniqueWith the help of this technique you can easily identify such seating locations, which will
ensure your success during a negotiation; at least you never get to lose, sitting on such
seats.
Space Programming using Power SymbolsWhile working with power symbols in MahaVastu™ Programming, you should be very
cautious; they are the final finishing touches, to be performed in the building, in order
to complete the process of desired manifestation. Before applying power symbols, all
the other steps must have been completed in your building.
First step, viz. balance of the five elements, should be completed
Second, location of the entrance should be analysed and corrected, if required, using
MahaVastu™ Techniques; as only a correct entrance connects inner space of a building
with the Universal Space. This is exactly like connecting a computer to the electric
supply.
Third, evaluate the strengths and weaknesses of Vastu Zones to understand the powers
that are shaping your life situations. Without completing these three steps, the fourth
step will not work per se.
For application of power symbols in MahaVastu™ Programming, one must analyse the
Kosha (among the Panchkoshas) with which the problems are connected.
Following are some of the power symbols, which when used judiciously, can completely
transform your life:

action with human intelligence and consciousness. That is why, in MahaVastu™ this is
used as a symbol to sharpen your skills to control your systems in a better way.
Swastika has been used in every ancient civilisation in some form or the other. It
represents the basic frequency of the Universe. So, any space can be synchronised with
the universal mind by merely drawing a Swastika there. By forming a Swastika in any
Zone, we harmonise the Zone with the Universal Consciousness, spontaneously, thereby,
facilitating the desired outcome.
