there as well.

It rained

very heavily the

days before

Games Day. However, on the day, it was sunny and warm.

Everyone was very happy.

Liu Lok Yin (5C) broke the 200m record. Yeung Yan

Yuet in 6C broke the long jump record, while class 6A broke

the 4x100m relay record.

Phoebe Yeung (5A) said, “I wanted my class to be the

best class.”

Selby Ho (5A) said, “I think the boys’ 200m race was

the most exciting because they ran very fast and someone

broke the record.”

New Teachers Come to Our School By Vincent Lau (5D) and Teddy Ma (5D)

n 3rd September, students saw many new teachers at Ho Yat Tung Primary School. There were six new

teachers. They were Mr. Ng Kit Yin, Mr. Li Siu Wa, Miss Cheung Yin, Miss Ko Yik Man, Miss Yim Li

Ching and Miss Yim Mung Sze.

Mr. Ng teaches Chinese and he is the class teacher of 5D. Mr. Li teaches Sports. Miss Cheung teaches Chinese

and she is the class teacher of 4D too. Miss Ko teaches English and General Studies, while Miss Yim Li Ching

teaches Maths and the Olympiad of Maths, and Miss Yim Mung Sze teaches music.

We asked Yankee Poon (5C) which teacher she liked best and why. She said, “Mr. Li, because I like P.E.

lessons. P.E. lessons are fun!”

We also asked Mr. Ng (the class teacher of 5D) if he liked Ho Yat Tung Primary School and why. Mr. Ng

said, “Yes, because Ho Yat Tung is the best school in Tuen Mun.”

All the new teachers like Ho Yat Tung because students are helpful, friendly, kind and hardworking. The

new teachers are friendly and funny. They help all the students.

By Phyllis Cheng (5A) and Phoebe Yeung (5A)

n Tuesday 18th December, Ho Yat Tung

students had their first English Speaking

Day at school. They were quite excited about

it. Below is some background information about our

English Speaking Day.

English Speaking Days are held from

December to May.

They are held on

the third Tuesday

of every month.

Students speak

English during

recess and get

English passports

from their class

teachers. The students try their best to get stickers

from their teachers and prefects.

Our Native English Teachers, Mr. Young and

Mr. Wong, sold food at a “tuck shop”. Students

needed to use English to buy food at the tuck shop.

If students didn’t speak English, prefects would show

them yellow cards to tell them to speak English.

We interviewed Mr. Young to get more

information and found out Miss Kung suggested the

idea of English Speaking Day because teachers want

students to speak more English. All the teachers at

school were in charge of giving stickers.

“I enjoyed our first English Speaking Day

because I gave many yellow cards to my friends,” said

Yankee Poon (5C).

By Kristy Chung (5D) and Veronica To (5B)

n 14th and 15th December, the Brownies and

the Boy Scouts went to Sai Kung Outdoor

Centre for their annual camping trip. All the

Brownies and Boy Scouts were very excited before

the trip because they would get a new badge for

camping.

They went with 5D’s class teacher, Mr. Ng,

Miss To from 5B, Miss Tang from 3C, Miss Lee from

1D and 1E, and the vice principal, Mr. Man. They took

a long time to get there by coach. When they arrived,

they put down their suitcases and started a treasure

hunt together.

At night, they ate dinner and went to

different places to have their free time. They could

go roller skating, play badminton, squash or other

games. They had a great time.

Chloe Lam

(5A) said, “I

loved the camp

because I could

work together

with others and

have a good

time.”

Mr. Ng, 5D’s class teacher, said, “I was very

excited about the camp. I love working with the kids

very much.”

The Brownies and Boy Scouts are looking

forward to the camp next year. If you would like to

go camping with them, come and join the Brownies (if

you’re a girl) or the Scouts (if you’re a boy). Come and

join!

The Students and Teachers

Have a Christmas Party

By Selby Ho (5A) and Miranda Yeung (4B)

n 21st December, all the students and

teachers had a Christmas party in the

classrooms. All of the students played

games and sang Christmas songs like “Jingle Bells”

together happily. Many students thought that the

n 2012, students had lunch break activities at

Ho Yat Tung Primary School. Students have had

lunch break activities since last year. We have

attended a talk about how to protect the environment,

watched Putonghua cartoons, made some Christmas

handicrafts, played different kinds of chess and had

Mathematics competitions. There have been many

activities.

We think playing chess is the most interesting

because we can relax ourselves. Also, we can play with

our friends. We can all play together happily. It is good

to play games after lunch and before our lessons.

Native English Teacher, Mr. Young, would be Santa Claus. Actually, Mr. Li, the P.E.

teacher, was Santa Claus. He wore red clothes and carried a big bag of presents. He

gave many presents to the students.

Miss Yim, the music teacher, told all the students in 5A that Mr. Li wouldn’t

be the Santa Claus. Phoebe Yeung (5A) said she thought, “Mr. Young should be the

Santa Claus because he’s jolly.”

But Mr. Young said, “I think a real Santa Claus in Finland is the best.”

Kristy Chung (5D) said, “I think the most interesting part of the Christmas

party was seeing Mr. Li pretend to be Santa Claus.”

Students Have Exams

By Rain Au (5B) and Kenny Lim (6C)

n 15th January, all students had their first exams in Ho Yat Tung Primary

School. They had many subjects in the exams such as Chinese, English, Maths

and General Studies.

On the first day of the exam, we had a Chinese test. Everyone was very nervous

and worried because they thought all the questions would be very difficult. They were

unhappy. Isabelle Choy (5B) said, “The first exam was the most difficult in the whole year.”

On the second day, we had an English test. Some students thought the test would be very easy but

some thought it would be more difficult than Chinese. They were sad. Miss Kung said, “I think the test is very

easy. I hope you can get good marks.”

On the third day, we had a Maths test. Everyone was very relaxed because they are good with

numbers. It was the easiest test. Desmond Yau said, “I think the Maths test was easy because I’ve done a lot

of revision.”

On the last day of the exams, we had a General Studies test. Many students were not afraid of this

test because they had all done revision.

By Glory Kuk (6D) and Mavis Yeung (6C)

n 19th November, all the P.6 students in Ho

Yat Tung went to Lions Nature Education

Centre in Sai Kung. There are lots of things about

nature at Lions Nature Education Centre. Actually, the

school wanted us to know more about nature, so they

planned this trip. Most of the students loved this trip.

At 8:40 a.m., all of the P.6 students gathered in

the playground. They went to Lions Nature Education

Centre by school bus. All of the students were excited

and they chatted all the way there.

It was a lovely sunny day when the P.6 students

arrived. They took

out their cameras

and were ready to

take shots. Then,

some of the P.6

students went to

the rock classroom

and the rest

followed the teachers.

The P.6 students that followed the teachers

went to many different places. First, they went to the

Insectarium—a place that had different kinds of

strange insects such as grasshoppers, beetles, spiders,

butterflies, dragonflies and lots more. Also, they went

to the Butterfly Valley, which was full of butterflies.

They saw lots of colourful butterflies there. They took

lots of photos too.

They saw

many spec ia l

camellias, azaleas

and water lilies.

reports about

them. “It was

really incredible!

P.6 Students Have Outdoor Learning Day

O I discovered a lot of interesting things about

nature. It was so cool and I will go there again,”

said Jessica Ko (6C).

Some of

the students

went to the

rock classroom.

They watched

videos and did

quizzes. “I went

to the rock

classroom and

made my own

fossils. It was so fun. We learnt a lot about rocks,”

said Cherry Lam (6D). We found out how you can

make your own fossil. First, mix some special

powder with water in a cup. Then, get a paper plate

with some dirt on it, and put a fake plastic lizard on

the dirt. Pour the mixture into the plate and wait

until the mixture is dry. Take the whole thing out

and use a brush to sweep away the dirt. Take out

the fake lizard and the fossil is done! All the

students in the rock classroom thought this was

fun and enjoyed it very much.

From this trip, the P.6 students learned a

lot about nature and plants. They knew that they

should protect the environment and love animals, or

else our beautiful home will be destroyed.

Poetry My Best Friends Forever

By Kristy Chung (5D)

The first day of school,

I am like a fully charged race car,

Zooming across the school hall.

Finding my friends in a dark hallway.

Chloe, as evil as Frankenstein,

Doing dangerous experiments.

Jimmy, a calculator without a USB,

Calculating as fast as lightning.

Faster than Einstein.

Isabelle—brave as a soldier.

Smarter than a dictionary.

Cuter than Hello Kitty, attracting boys around.

All friends and enemies around

the world,

Playing with video games and

dolls.

It’s not boring, though.

It’s very simple,

You just play and play.

When Angry Antony Went to the

Supermarket By Rachel Ng (6B)

Angry Antony went to the supermarket

To buy food.

Imagine his surprise when he saw

Octopus orange juice,

Which smelled like shoes.

He tried the salty salmon sausages,

They tasted as soft as bandages.

He was very surprised

Because there was a dish called

Flying Fish Fried with Files!

“Who would like to try shrimp flavoured ice-cream?”

shouted a seller,

Antony thought this supermarket was terrible.

He was hungry and angry

Because all kinds of food were not yummy.

Antony bought the gummies that were coloured blue,

“Oh no! They are made of glue!”

He fought with the seller,

And the police took him to jail.

Foolish Ficky Mouse went to the flat,

To see all the scary things in the flat.

Imagine his surprise when he realized he was very

foolish.

When Foolish Ficky was in the flat,

Ficky sat on the crazy cat.

And jumped on the crocodile chair,

Then the crocodile blew out smelly air!

Foolish Ficky found the useless umbrella,

On his head, he found some cola!

Ficky went to the toilet,

And turned the terrible tap,

He was saved because of his crispy cap!

He wanted to play a computer game,

He thought a fool and this computer game were the

same.

Cop Cop Game was the computer game—what an ugly

name!

He saw the tiny teddy bear,

It cried lots and lots of tears,

Which were very clear.

Foolish Ficky lived in the flat forever.

“I have had a good day!”

Is what he would say.

School Life By Rain Au (5B)

When I go to school in the morning,

I line up like a scout,

As tidy as a cat.

When I have lessons,

I am sleepy like a pig.

I have a good dream about food.

When I have recess,

I play with friends.

I’m as happy as if I had ten billion dollars.

When recess is going to end,

I think time has gone as fast as a rocket.

I need to have lessons—sleepy again.

When I have lunch,

I eat as slow as a snail.

Everyone laughs at me.

When I need to be on duty,

I shout like a policeman.

The teachers like me.

When I go home,

I am as excited as if I had the most money

in Hong Kong.

I am ready to go home.

When Crazy Chloe Went to the Cave By Miranda Yeung (4B)

Crazy Chloe went to the cave,

To see the animals.

Crazy Chloe saw a cave,

She jumped in and didn’t jump out,

She jumped high and touched the sky,

She jumped low and touched the floor.

She jumped and jumped,

She jumped into the zoo cave.

She saw the quiet quail and orange octopus,

The mini monkey and the lazy lion.

Her mum said, “Come out and let’s go home.”

But she never came out.

She saw a big bee and a crazy cat,

A red rabbit and a pink pig.

Her father said, “Come out and let’s go home.”

But she never came out.

She saw a big black bear and green grass.

Mum and Dad said, “Come out, come out!

We are going back home.”

She said, “Okay, okay. I will come out.”

She came out but her parents had gone away.

She cried and cried and cried,

But it was no use,

Because now she needed to live in that cave forever.

Josy, Ray and Ally By Isabelle Choy (5B)

It was an ordinary day for Josy. She would

have a singing concert. She was only nineteen years

old but she was already the most popular singer and

actress in Hong Kong. Her eyes were big and bright,

and she had long black hair. She had two cats. The

cats liked her so much.

On that day, she would sing with her

boyfriend, Ray. They fell in love when Josy was

eighteen years old. Josy had a best friend, Ally.

They would shop, swim, sing and dance together. It

was also Josy’s birthday on that day. She would be

twenty years old. She celebrated with Ally and

Josy.

About five years later, Josy was a full-

fledged woman. She was already a movie star. She

was also kind and helpful. But Ally had done bad

things to be a popular movie star. Sometimes, she

even hated Josy because Josy was the most

popular movie star. Ally’s personality had changed.

She was a bad person now. Everyone didn’t know

Ally was bad except for Josy. Josy was sad and

disappointed about Ally becoming a bad person.

Josy thought of ways to make Ally better every

day. But Ally wouldn’t get better.

Although Josy had many fans, she wasn’t

happy. Ray was worried about Josy because she

would sleep late every night, thinking of ways to

make Ally better. Ally always did bad things with

the worst guy in Hong Kong, Chris. Josy was so

worried.

One day, Ray found out that Ally had done

bad things with Chris. He told the police. Suddenly,

Ally went with Chris to find Ray. They all argued

with each other. Then, no one could find Ray. Josy

was very sad and she always looked for Ray.

Finally, one day, she found Ray near the sea

and they had a good life together, forever.

Susan’s Day By Phyllis Cheng (5A)

It was a

special day for

Susan Chan. She

could play in the

playground for a

w h o l e d a y

because it was

Sunday. She had

long hair, a pair

of beautiful eyes

and long feet like pencils. She was very lovely,

kind, beautiful and cheerful, so many people liked

her very much. She liked reading books, skipping

and playing with her friends and eating chocolate

and chicken wings. Therefore, her teeth were not

healthy. She sometimes went to the market too.

Her mother thought that if Susan helped her to

choose the food, the food would all be fresher

than what she chose.

On that day, they had some visitors

coming to Susan’s home, so Susan needed to help

her mum to choose the food and prepare the

house, so she couldn’t go to the playground. Then

she said, “Mum, next week you need to allow me to

have one day to skip helping you. Therefore, next

week I will have two days to play! Ha ha!”

After that, she played and talked with

the visitors. She played happily with them and she

really enjoyed that day. Her mother thought, “If

I have more parties, she will be very happy but I

will need to give her more days off! Oh, I think I

have a good idea where I do not need to give her

extra days off!”

Susan’s mum told another classmate to go

to the next party because Susan only wanted to

play with her friends. So, Susan’s mum didn’t have

to give Susan any extra days off!

Bighead Maker By Jimmy Fung (5D)

It was a very amazing day for Bighead

Maker. Actually, it started as an ordinary day but

it turned into an amazing day after this

happened…

Bighead Maker didn’t need to go to school

today because it was a holiday. On Planet Cratex

27, everyone was very normal except him. He felt

very strange with his big head, curly whiskers and

the tools on his head.

He was walking to the factory that made

chairs. The people on the streets saw him but

didn’t say hello to him. They whispered and ran

away from him.

When he arrived at the factory, he saw

the workers, smelled the wood and heard the

sounds of whispering. When the people saw him,

he tiptoed away. Then, Bighead looked into the

mirror. He saw something strange. His head had

become tiny!

Then the Lord appeared and said, “Oh, I’m

sorry, Bighead. I made you the wrong size.” Then

with a dash of the Lord’s wing, Bighead had a

normal sized head again!

Now, he was very happy and everything

was normal again.

Little D By Vincent Lau (5D)

It was an ordinary day for Little D. Little D

was a dog. He had little short hands and feet, a

table for a body, eggplant ears and two badminton

rackets for ears. He was one year old and he

weighed one kilogram. He was sporty, clever and he

liked to eat very much. He was sporty because he

liked to play badminton, run and jump. He was

clever because he knew how to make robot shoes.

He liked to eat a lot, especially lots of very spicy

curry bread and bowls of rice. Also, he needed to

run away from Big Pig Pig every day because Big Pig

Pig liked to try and eat Little D.

Little D lived in a new badminton court.

Little D liked this badminton court very much

because every day he could play badminton with his

older brother Little E. The badminton court was in

a village. It was very quiet. He could hear the

sounds of a river and it also smelled good. He could

smell fish and vegetables. The badminton court was

very big. It had a net and the court was light blue.

Little D called his brothers to come as well.

He called Little A, Little B, Little F, Little H, Little

G, Little X and Little K. They played badminton

together. At last, Little D, Little F, Little H and

Little X won, but Little A, Little B, Little G and

Little K lost.

Finally, they went to their home together

and they were very glad.

Sally and the Mice By Yankee Poon (5C)

It was an ordinary day for Sally. She was a 10-year-old girl.

She lived near Tuen Mun Hospital. She was fat, had big teeth and a

broken leg. She was lazy, silly and crazy. She liked to sleep and eat

sweets. She always hobbled because of her broken leg.

She often went to the bedroom and kitchen. Her bedroom

was very, very big with a big, big bed. It smelled very bad. She

would sleep and sleep until she felt hungry. She never had a proper

breakfast, lunch or dinner. She only had sweets. Her kitchen was full of sweets. It smelled great.

One day, she crawled to the kitchen and took the candy. She hobbled to her bedroom and limped onto

her bed. She fell asleep in her bed and never woke up again. No one knew until her body became smelly and her

parents found that she had died. But it was too late because her body had been eaten by mice!

Rosetta Bloom—Fairy Ballerina By Phoebe Yeung (5A)

It was an ordinary day for Rosetta Bloom, the 12-year-old star ballerina. Her diamond-blue wings

shimmered in the sunlight. Her peach-pink skin, dazzling blonde hair and sapphire blue eyes made her the most

charming ballerina in the world of fairies and pixies. She was so popular that everyone wanted to sit with her

during lunchtime when she was in elementary school.

But when she opened her mailbox to check her mail, her life totally changed. There

was a letter from Crystal Star Dancing Academy, the most famous dancing academy in the

world. She untied the red silk ribbon, opened the purple envelope and gasped. She would be

going to the academy when school started! She looked at her calendar. That was the day

after tomorrow! Hurriedly, she fluttered to her bedroom and started packing her things.

It was the day school would start. When Rosetta arrived at the academy, she felt amazed; she had

never seen such a grand school before! The principal warmly welcomed her and led her to the assembly hall.

Some of the new students recognised Rosetta and cried, “Rosetta Bloom is here!” The hall was full of “Oohs”

and “Aahs” when she arrived.

Suddenly, they heard some footsteps approaching. It was a… troll! Everyone

screamed except for brave Rosetta and the teachers. Rosetta told everyone to go away first.

Everyone fled at once. Rosetta flew out of the hall and played a game of tag with the troll

and led him to the school field. Then, she flew around in circles. Some other fairies joined

Rosetta’s act. They flew round and round until the troll felt dizzy and fell down. Rosetta

twirled and pirouetted in the air, cast some magic, and the troll was dead. (Of course, the

body stank.) Everyone shouted, “Hurray!”

At the academy ball, Rosetta was asked to perform. The smell of rose perfume spread all over the place.

Rosetta’s wings sparkled in the light. Her tiara twinkled as she curtsied. At the end of the performance,

everyone clapped. That was a really special day for Rosetta… And for everyone else as well!

My Adventure By Veronica To (5B)

Hello, everybody! I am a $10 bill. Here I am in a

bank. I am happy. Let me tell you about my exciting and

scary adventure.

One year ago, I had a good owner. I lived in his

wallet. It was big and comfortable. I had many brothers

and sisters, such as $1 and $2 coins and $20 bills. We

always talked together.

One day, our owner bought an ice cream. He

took me out to buy an ice cream. I was happy that I

could change owners. But after that moment, I felt

guilty. This new owner always went gambling. Unluckily,

my new owner lost a bet. I changed owner again.

This owner was even worse than the second

owner. He always threw things. He got angry easily.

After half a year, he threw me and the other bills out

of the window.

Then, I floated up to the sky. I was happy that

I could go away from the third owner. But there was an

airplane that glided up to me. The airplane hit me. I got

hurt. I was dirty too. I fell down in the sea.

I floated and floated for about three months. I

floated to the beach. A boy who was making sandcastles

saw me. He took me to the police station.

The policeman took me to the bank. I saw my

brothers and sisters that I had in my first owner’s

wallet. All of us cried with joy.

And we lived happily ever after.

My Crazy Day By Kenny Lim (6C)

I am a $10 bill. I was in Kai Bo

Supermarket and I lived happily with the other

$10, $20 and $50 bills. Life was interesting for

me. I liked to sleep and talk to the other bills. I

also ate coins and cockroaches when I was

hungry.

One week ago, my owner got me from the

bank, went to the supermarket and used me to

buy a toy gun for his son. The shopkeeper then

put me into the black box in the cash register.

One day, some naughty boys stole me

from the supermarket. I saw people walking in

the street with their pets. Then, I arrived at

their home. I felt lonely because I didn’t have

any friends there. The boys used crayons to draw

dome things on my body. I became very ugly. I

cried because I wanted to play with my friends in

the supermarket.

Luckily, they used me to buy candies in

the supermarket. I saw all my bill friends in the

money box again and said, “Hello.” I don’t want

these bad things to happen to me again.

Tom’s $10 Bill By Alison Lei (6B)

I am a $10 bill. I live in Tom’s purse. In the beginning, I didn’t think he was a person because he has a

clock on his body and his hands are two chopsticks, but I think he’s a person now because he knows how to

talk.

Today, Tom wanted to buy a bag of potato chips so he gave me to the shop staff. After the staff put

me into the box, I saw there were $20 bills, $50 bills and $100 bills. “You are so smelly. Why are you so

smelly?” asked the $20 bill.

“I am smelly because the staff’s hands are smelly,” I answered.

Suddenly, I heard some noises. “I am smarter than you!” said the

$50 bill.

“No, I am smarter than you!” said the $100 bill.

After a few minutes, they fought together. Then, I thought I saw

an alien come and buy a bottle of water. Since the bottle of water was

$10 and he gave $20, the staff gave me to the alien. I thought his hands

were very wet and disgusting. When I saw his face, I found out he was

actually Tom’s dad, Elder Tom.

After he went back home, he gave a $500 bill and me to Tom because Tom got $510 every month.

Finally, the $500 bill and I returned to Tom’s purse and I felt very bored because I had returned to Tom’s

purse so many times already!

$1000 Adventure By Desmond Yau (5C)

In 2011, I was in a bank’s ATM. I

had many friends and my best friend was

a $500 bill. Every day I slept with my

friends, chatted and tried to run away

from the ATM.

One day, there were some thieves

Little Yellow Chick By Selby Ho (5A)

It was an ordinary day for Little Yellow Chick. He was

fat and he had yellow fur. He liked eating pudding very much.

Every day, he went to the supermarket to buy pudding and

slept in a bird cage.

One day, it was Little Yellow Chick’s

birthday. He was happy, so he went to the

supermarket but this time, the supermarket

smelled like a rubbish bin. But he didn’t

care. He just thought about pudding. He

went in front of the huge pudding, and it

was free! Little Yellow Chick was very

happy. He took it back home.

At home, he ate the pudding. Suddenly, he felt that his

body was getting bigger and bigger. He broke the bird cage and

he ate the left over pudding, but he tripped over something and

lay down.

He woke up. It was just a dream. No broken bird cage

and no huge, free pudding!

My Adventure By Zero Fung (6B)

I am a one thousand dollar bill. I lived in

Hang Seng Bank with other bills happily. There

were customers, bank managers and bank tellers.

The bank tellers always argued with customers.

The bank smelled good because we were spiced. I

was very happy every day.

But one day, a strong and tall woman came

to the counter and asked for me. The bank teller

got me and gave me to the woman. Oh, no! I had to

leave the bank! I felt sad and hopeless. My life in

“heaven” was ending. The woman put me in her

wallet. There was an

I.D. card, Octopus

card, library card and

so on. The woman was

called Candy. When we

arrived at Candy’s

home, she took me out carefully and kissed me.

Her home was big. There were televisions,

computers, and a sofa. She put me on a wooden

table and it was really hard. After an hour, she

put me in her pocket and went to the

supermarket with me.

When we were on our way to the

supermarket, a guy walked towards us and stole

me! Candy was surprised and shocked. She

chased after the thief immediately. I tried to

get out of the thief’s hand but I failed. The

thief held me even tighter.

After a while, the thief got tired but

Candy was still chasing him. The thief ran to an

empty street and stopped and turned back with

a gun. Candy was

s c a r e d a n d

regretted chasing

after me. But she

didn’t run away.

All of a sudden,

she rushed to the

thief and he

dropped his gun. The thief was surprised. Candy

got hold of me but the thief didn’t let me go.

They both pulled me. I was very scared and in

pain. I wanted to scream but I couldn’t. Finally,

they tore me in half. The thief was scared and

didn’t know what to do. Candy was scared and

she cried. She called the police. After that, she

hit the thief and made him faint. She held me in

her hands and cried. She went home before the

police came.

The next day, she buried me and cried.

floor was rough. Suddenly, there was a wind and it blew

me into a drain. It was very smelly and I saw some of

my friends—$10 coins. “What a pity!” I said, “There is a

heavy rain!” and we went into a big sea. Oh, the water

was cold and salty. I floated on the sea. There were

some dirty plastic bags too.

Without warning, there was a

massive tsunami. The tsunami

crashed onto me and I went

towards the Atlantic Ocean.

There, I sank to the bottom of

the sea.

A few years later, there was a big blue ship. The

fishermen wanted to catch a lot of fish and they caught

me too. They caught me

with a net. I could see

many different kinds of

fish on the fishing boat. I

was very wet too. I heard

a fisherman say, “Let’s

eat all the fish tonight

and use this $1000 bill!”

They dried me and used

me to buy things. Then, I was in a supermarket. I hoped

this was not the beginning of another scary trip!

because I believed the Science Group,” said Julia

Watson (6D). The students became hard-working

again.

The tuck shop staff said that they found

the lollipops in the food storage room. The

Science Group told the staff to be careful with

unknown food or throw it away. They also warned

students never to eat anything that had Butterkly

inside because there is a chemical inside that will

make someone lazy.

Now, the Science Group is using a chemical

called, ‘Fly Fly Drops’, made by the juice of the

Flying Dragon’s wings to destroy the lollipops.

They need to be careful with the lollipops because

when the lollipops touch the ‘Fly Fly Drops’, they

will explode.

Also, the police are finding out who is

behind this. They believe the criminal, The Baddie,

sneaked into the food storage room at night while

everyone was asleep. The lollipops were made in a

factory named WaGaSaLa Lollies, which is in

South America. But no one has ever seen who

manages the factory or knows his name. The

people there just call him, Mr. Lolly Spooky. The

police are searching for the man that manages the

factory and the man who sneaked into the food

storage room.

The principal wanted to thank the Science

Group’s students, so each of them got an

‘Outstanding Student’ medal.

Fall! Science Group Knows All! By Glory Kuk (6D)

them but their grades fell. Now, the Science Group

knows what happened.

The Science Group

found out that the lollipops

and didn’t want to go to school. I even pretended to be

sick!” said Mavis Yeung (6C). The teachers were

Use a Magic Pencil and You Can

Get Good Marks! By Mavis Yeung (6C)

On 7th November, students in Ho Yat Tung

Primary School got their test papers. Everyone was

so surprised and they screamed and shouted and

yelled as loud as lions roaring. Why? Because of

their high marks!

It was big and surprising news for all the

students and teachers, and even for the social

workers! They were curious about it and they found

out some important things. All the students in Ho

Yat Tung Primary School used the same kind of

pencil from the same company. Everyone called

them, “Magic Pencils”. They were really magic

pencils but we couldn’t find out how the company

made and sold them.

“I got this pencil before the test. It was in

my hamster’s cage and it was really strange that it

was there. It was quite pretty so I took it and used

in the test,” said Glory Kuk (6D), seriously.

Another pupil in class 6C, Coby Choi, told

us, “It was the best pencil I have ever used! When

I was answering the questions with the Magic

Pencil, I just got all the answers and wrote them

down quickly. I loved it very much!” She laughed

happily after that.

Students all got good marks, even 100

marks, in the test. Therefore, Ho Yat Tung Primary

School became the best school in Hong Kong. The

Magic Pencil also became a famous pencil in school.

However, some teachers wanted to destroy the

pencils. “It is impossible! Students will just use this

pencil and be lazy. We can’t have this pencil!” said

Miss Chan with an angry face.

Why did the Magic Company sell these

pencils? How could they make them? And the big

question—what is the secret behind them?

The Magic Company was not a very famous

company before they sold this kind of pencil. Just

a few people who knew about this company. So,

they decided to make the unique pencil. They

wanted their company to become more famous and

popular so that they could earn a lot of money.

The founder of the Magic Company, Mr.

John Thomson, was very rich. He built his company

on the top of the mountain. He spent a lot of

money to buy machines. They used many kinds of

huge machines and added some strange medicine

that they made in their own factory.

The most important point is the

mysterious secret behind Magic Pencils. There are

two special ingredients and the workers mixed

them together. Then, they became one of the

poisons named “Smarty Smart”. It can make

people smart and clever just like a robot. They

knew all the answers in tests and got good marks.

That’s why everyone could get good grades.

Finally, Magic Pencil is a poisonous pencil.

So, we are going to tell you, “Don’t use them

anymore!” Students should study hard before

their tests and do their best!
