SKY VALLEY WORSHIP & BIBLE STUDY: 4pm starts the combined Worship Service/In The Word Bible Study for the DHS/Sky Valley areas. My daughter Lydia has signed up with a biographic link and is so ex- cited about what she is finding out about our heritage. She has traced my dad’s side of the family as coming to the United States before the Revolu- tionary War. I had always thought it was just before WWI. I was off by a few years. It is fun and interesting to see where I have come from. Andrew Schlosser had a daughter named Rachel. My daughter Rachel married An- drew. Weird. It is also interesting to think about our spiritual heritage. Not long ago we had a study on the Restoration Movement of the 1800s. It made me think of my classes on the faithful men and women throughout church history. I am not exactly like them, and we would probably argue about some things, but we have the same Lord, baptism and faith. Amazing. We need to apply what has come from the trailblazers and look to where we are going. Sometimes the past gives us better longing and vision of the future. In heaven we will meet those who we cannot know because no one thought they were important enough to write anything about. But God saw tremendous value and redeemed them by his precious blood. 12 Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, 2 fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. Yo soy tu hermano Gilberto......
