What do we want?
Andalucía Team, through the Pa o 2.12 project, acts as an ambassador for the values that Solar Decathlon aims to transmit about: innova on, sustainability and energe c effi ciency. The main goals are: to improve the sustainability and the new use of renewable energies related to the design and use of housing, as well as promote a responsible use of energy to achieve a higher energe c effi ciency.

Who is it for?

We embrace the objec ves into two: the future genera on and the present genera on.
F.G. They represent the future of Andalucía, Spain and Europe. It’s those being taught in our schools and universi es: children, adolescents and university students.
P.G. To make Pa o 2.12 a reality, private en es have become our priority and main target. Andalu-cía Team is trying to collaborate with as many An-dalusian companies as possible to develop a new future for housing in Andalucía.

The diff erent ac vi es that will be developed depending on the age range are explained in the following paragraphs:
Preschool (age 3 to 5 years old). We have created the story book “Looking for the house”, to serve as an educa onal help for parents and teachers when explaining environmental educa on to children.
Primary School (age 6 to 10 years old). For them we have created the drawing compe on Arkids 2.12 ‘thinking mediterraneo’ based on the one designed by TEN ACT10N: ‘Draw the suns energy’. Every par cipa ng child will draw the use of solar energy; they will use colored pencils, markers, watercolors or crayons.
Secondary School (age 11 to 15 years old). A tutored workshop will be carried out with the Plas c Arts and Technology teachers, where the children will reproduce the house Pa o 2.12 at a diff erent scale in order to be shown in the 10th Science Fair that will be carried out during 10th, 11st and 12nd May 2012 in the Palacio de Exposiciones y Congresos in Seville FIBES.

The managers of the Andalucía Team have contacted more than 60 companies to get them to sponsor the project. Most of them are related with the materials and systems employed in the prototype, s ll, there are some that are related with the world of communica ons and publicity.
Thanks to the invester companies we have got to par cipate in Solar Decathlon Europe 2012.
Since Andalucía Team was formed, media as newspapers, radio and television have been interested in our project. This media spread have facilitated ge ng more sponsors.

Par ciping in Solar Decathlon is a very expensive process, so we knew about the importance of having a great corpora ve image and a good spread material to collect our target audience a en on, this has been our main aim: our future sponsors.

In each of them, the visitor will be able to achieve clear and concise informa on about each of the ideas on innova on, sustainability and energe c effi ciency on which the team has worked to design and build Pa o 2.12. Guided visits expla ons may vary in me and diffi culty in accordance with the target audience we deal with.
