They hesitate we move ahead.” We at DPS Dubai are living proof that when human beings have the courage and commitment to transform a dream into reality, there is nothing that can stop them. Here is a list of our accomplishments that we have achieved through the year: Awarding Excellence in Education: The Spectacular CBSE- XII- RESULTS (2014- 2015): A total of 113 students appeared for the Board examination this year out of which 72 were in the Science stream and 41 in Commerce. The results of CBSE Grade XII Board Examination 2015 have shown an improvement of 2.54% in the overall class average which is 83.74% as compared to 81.2 % last year. The school topper in the Science stream is Mudit Gupta with an aggregate of 96.4%. In the Commerce stream, the topper is Pragya Singh with 95%. Brilliant CBSE Grade X Results: Out of 190 students 156 appeared for Board Based Examination while 34 students appeared for the School Based Examination. The class average score (CGPA) is 8.5. 23 students attained a CGPA of a Perfect Ten. The PISA 2012 catapulted DPS Dubai into an elite group of highest achieving schools in Dubai regardless of curricula. Our school was awarded 540 points which is 48 points above all Indian schools and 72 points above the average of all Dubai schools. It is notable that the target set for all Dubai schools in PISA 2018 is 520 points which our school has already surpassed by 20 points! Our school targets in PISA for 2015 in Math, Reading and Science are 565, 562 and 564. Our school targets in TIMSS for grade 4 in Mathematics and Science are 592 and 604. Our school targets in TIMSS for grade 8 in Mathematics and Science are 604 and 609.

The Prestigious Sheikh Hamdan Award for Academic Excellence:
This year, four of our brilliant students have been conferred the Sheikh Hamdan
Award, one of the highest honors that a student can garner in the United Arab
Emirates.
The Sharjah Award for Excellence in Education 2014 was bestowed upon two
of our deserving students
Conservation Award "For A Better Tomorrow"
DPS Dubai was awarded first prize in the secondary school category for Facility
Management organized by Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) and
KHDA. Our school also received a cheque amounting to AED 10,000/-
DPS Dubai Students are National Cyber Olympiad, National Science
Olympiad and International English Olympiad Toppers:
Our students did the school proud by topping the National Olympiads both at the
International and Zonal level. It is a matter of great pride for all of us. The list of
all our winners is up on the CLP.
DPS Dubai qualify for World Scholars’ Cup to be held at Yale University USA
The success of our delegates in the preliminary round at Malaysia of the prestigious
World Scholars’ Cup shot our students into the super league of the Tournament of
Champions organized by the prestigious Yale University USA.
DPS Dubai Wins First Prize in Project and Poster Category in Gulf Medical
University
DPS Dubai won First Prize both in the project and poster category in Gulf Medical
University-MASE More than 40 Schools from around UAE participated in the
event. Wow, creativity at its very best!
First, Second and Third Prize for DPS Students at Manipal Young Innovators
2015
The inter-school Science competition Young Innovators encouraged budding
scientists to showcase their innovative spirit. Students won accolades for their
projects on Life Science and Engineering and IT.
Our students are proactive, resilient, self-reliant and disciplined brimming with
positivity and commitment.

Gold Medal for Alistair at 19 CBSE Athletic Meet, Gujarat, India
We are proud to announce that Alistair Lewis, won a Gold Medal in the 3000m
and a Silver Medal in 1500m in the Track Events for Under 16 Category at the
CBSE National Athletic Meet 2014-15 held in Gujarat.
Arika Wins 3 Bronze at CBSE Swimming National Championship
We are also proud to announce that Arika D’ Souza, won 3 Bronze Medals, at the
CBSE Swimming National Championship.
Utkarsh Gor Sets New Record Meet at Third Inter-School Swimming Meet

The DPS Herald is out in a new Avatar
DPS Herald the e-year book was virtually constructed according to the phases
I to IV. It was out in its new Avatar at the beginning of the new academic session.
We managed to save tonnes of paper by going digital.
THE TRIUMPH OF ‘DPS TRUMPET’.
Our webzine, the ‘DPS trumpet’ encourages budding writers to publish their work
for everyone to read. A newly instituted award honors budding writers who have
shown exceptional talent in creativity and writing skills during the scholar badge
ceremony.
We are proud that our social contributions have a profound and positive effect on
the wider community.
Pay It Forward
DPS Dubai – The School with a Loving Heart
Mufti Day Garners Funds for Nepal Earthquake Victims
Our students collected Dhs. 20,000/- for the Nepal victims and donated the amount
to the Nepal Prime Minister’s Relief Fund. We hope our help will go some way
to bring relief to our friends.

We “Can” for Good!
Can Collection Campaign
DPS students enthusiastically participated in the EEG ‘Can Collection Campaign’.
A ten member Can Collection Committee, comprising of students, was formed to
motivate all the students to contribute used cans for the noble cause of environment
protection.
Due to the sincere efforts of our students a total of 25 kgs of used Cans were
collected.
EDUCATION FOR SUSTAINABILITY
We are working towards a paperless system through enhanced IT support. Apart
from that our students engage in environmental awareness programs and also
actively volunteer for drives. Our scouts and guides have also taken part in several
Beach and park Cleanup programs.
STUDENT COUNCIL - THE MEDIATOR
The school believes in youth empowerment, hence, all students have been given a
platform via elections to actively engage in the selection of the school student
council. The student concerns are addressed by the student council during their
weekly meetings which are moderated by the School Head Boy and Head Girl.
The council has spearheaded several charitable drives to raise funds for Al Noor,
Rashid Pediatric Centre, Special Needs Foundation and Dubai Cares. The
students raised funds through Bake Sales and Jumble Sales. Our students are
sensitive and help those with special needs and special educational needs through
the buddy programme.
Sale of goods prepared by ancillary staff out of waste were sold to the teachers and
parents on the PTM day and garnered funds for them
Goodie bags are also distributed by the Student Council to the ancillary staff every
month. The Council has initiated the 'Campaign of the Week' program, which
engages students to ponder and proactively take a stand on important issues, such as
cyber bullying, digital citizenship, child protection, examination ethics, self-esteem
and so on. The Eat Right campaign by the student council monitors the food and
hygiene in the canteen. We believe that adopting a healthy and spiritual lifestyle
creates a better society.

The Student Council also handles tasks as large as a school-wide evacuation
during fire safety drills. Training of the student council to use the fire extinguisher
was also undertaken. Safety and protection is prime importance at DPS Dubai.
Platforms for Holistic Development
DPS Dubai Hosts Citizens’ Forum – Future Forward - An Interschool Mega
Event
“Citizens’ Forum” was instituted as an innovative interdisciplinary event which
seeks to empower students to be creative thinkers and charismatic leaders.
The events helped our youth gain insights into the current dynamics of the world, be
it in Science, Environment, Social Issues, Information Technology and
Mathematics.
8 eminent schools from across the UAE competed fiercely in each category.
The message that each event portrayed showed the commitment of the youth to
create an intellectual revolution, the thrust being on innovation and generating new
ideas.
The Overall Championship was won by DPS Dubai.
Future Forward-II Towards a Sustainable Tomorrow Inter School
Competition for Primary School.
Our school also proudly hosted “Future Forward-II towards a Sustainable
Tomorrow” an inter-school competition for the young children of grades 4 & 5,
encouraging innovative thinking and intellectual development for students from an
early age.
The highlight of the competition was the English Symposium on The Best Things
in Life are Free and Arabesque - A 3D Collage on Historic Monuments
Influenced by Islamic Values and Culture. This is a direct reflection of the
enormous pride, respect and appreciation we have for the heritage and culture of
UAE.
The Wonderful Themes at DPS Dubai:
We are pleased to inform you that this year we have two themes which we explore
via activities and programs. They are:
1. Beyond the Moon and Mars
2. High on Happiness, which also reflects the KHDA wellbeing plan.

DPS Dubai recognizes that the future belongs to Science, innovation and enterprise.
We appreciate that the school must inspire the students to think, be creative and
ambitious. We would like to sow the seeds of futuristic ideas.
Yet, we also understand that our world needs peace, good health, harmony,
tolerance, inclusivity and understanding, for these, too, are a prerequisite of
survival.
Tactile Art-o-thon Inter-school Competition:
DPS Dubai hosted the Tactile Art-o-thon inter-school 3D Canvas Painting
Competition.
The two themes that the students worked on were High on Happiness and Beyond
the Moon and Mars. Seven of the most prestigious schools of Dubai registered to
participate in this unique competition.
WE ARE THE WORLD, WE ARE ITS PEOPLE
Students Learn to Resolve Difficulties in Mature Ways and Become Global
Citizens.
The MUN is a conscious effort for students’ personal development, we learn to
resolve difficulties in mature ways and become global citizens.
Our student-led initiative, the Model United Nations Conference
‘MUN@DPSD’14’ went international with the participation of 7 schools.
In addition to the Student Officers and Administrative Staff, MUN@DPSD’14
consisted of a Press for the first time ever.
The conference was exciting and enthralling, but most importantly, everyone had an
experience to take back home.
The Talk of the Town – DPS Dubai Annual Days
We at DPS Dubai celebrate our togetherness through events and festivities such as
the Annual Carnival, class assemblies and Annual Days for each grade. We have
100% participation from the students for each event.
The Impressive Annual Day for Grades IV and V was a spectacular display that
showed off the dramatic and performing skills of our students. It focused on the role
played by ICT and the pitfalls inherent in the cyber world like a cyber-bullying. . It
was aptly titled E-TTACK! Launching operations…Superheroes!
The Kindergarten students put up a presentation titled ‘Chatur Jeev, of tortoises,
and what not… It was full of fun, frolic, masti and more!

Students of Grades I to III wanted to have their own Multi-disciplinary Annual Day
“These Are a Few of My Favorite Things”. The amateur artists did a wonderful
job putting their very heart and soul into the activity of their choice.
The interdisciplinary Annual Day for the middle school was ’Matters that Matter’.
Our Senior Interdisciplinary Annual Day was DPS Dubai - “A Futuristic School”.
The Annual days are always a success because our students respond well to peers
and adults, the annual days is a powerful tool because they focus on exemplary
behavior which is influential in creating social change.
There is a diversification for inter-house events to incorporate more discipline such
as karaoke and one act plays.
Various clubs for grades 1 - 11 are conducted once a week.
WE HAVE A VOICE
The popular 'Parents' Mantra' encourages parents to impart their wisdom on
imperative issues over the PA system.
The 'Students' Speak' initiative on the CLP provides students with a new platform
to express their views on various subjects.
The Radio Show is conducted by students, phases II-IV themselves every morning.
Through programs such as the 'Arabic Word of the Day', and Islamic prayers, our
students learn the culture of the UAE and enhance their Arabic and Islamic
awareness.
Off to a Flying Start:
New Initiatives:
DPS Dubai is at the forefront of pioneering new initiatives. If you check our `home
page’, the hyperlink ‘Sunshine and Rainbows’ will connect you to our Facebook
page .DPSD Hotline will inform you about the happenings in the school, Dubai
Calling is about the latest in Dubai, Namaste India keeps us in touch with our
home country, Global Perspective informs us about the goings on around the world
and Towards Excellence is the platform from which we shoot out exciting
competitions for the students to participate in. The new Twitter account tweets
snippets of information that is of relevance to our school. The You-tube showcases
videos of our students taking part in varied activities.

‘The Power of an Idea’, talks based on the popular TED Talks was an inspiring
journey for many of our students as they held forth on varied subjects. The event
was an eye opener as we found a wealth of talent and speakers in the school. The
students in turn thanked us for giving them an opportunity where they inspire a
room full of their friends with their motivational speeches and their befitting power
points.
KHDA and DPS Dubai Partners in Imparting Holistic Education
Students are involved in community development and work hand in hand with
KHDA in giving back to the society.
At the KHDA workshop our school was one of the eight schools and the only CBSE
School, whose presentation was voted most popular. We were invited as facilitator
to present on the topic 'From concept to reality – how we plan, implement and
assess' in early years.
The Test4Good – A Giving Initiative
Test4Good was a KHDA initiative run by DPS students.
DPS Dubai actively supported Test4Good. It coincided with our student led
initiative ‘Exam Stress Management Campaign’. It is about parents connecting with
their kids to read for fun, and it is about increasing awareness of autism and
donating to a good cause (Dubai Autism Centre).
Disaster Mitigation – “School, Projects at Display at What Worked”
DPS Dubai to the Rescue!
In our presentation we exemplified how our students created awareness,
collaborated to find solutions, generated empathy and raised funds during disasters.
We also felt proud when we were commended on the initiatives taken by our school
in this regard and appreciated that our student council takes up such causes in such
a lively and enthusiastic manner.
Dubai at What Works Science Plus
DPS Dubai School shared Best Practices with KHDA on how we lead students to
deepen understanding of scientific concepts at What Works Science Plus. DPS
Dubai presented very meaningful Prezi Presentations and gave live demonstrations

on the theme “How We Deepen the Understanding of Scientific Concepts
Beyond the Class room”.
The session also presented various programs which is run through the academic
year at DPS Dubai that provide opportunities for students to critically think,
innovate and apply acquired knowledge, skills and understanding
DPS students take pride in volunteering their services for the KHDA.
Students tell of the great fun they have while checking electronics input devices at
“what works wellbeing” and ushering delegates to the conferences.
KHDA Inspectors on Pilot Visit to Assess Progress towards National Agenda
Targets
DPS Dubai extended a warm welcome to KHDA inspectors who were on a pilot
visit to assess Progress towards National Agenda Targets. They were full of
admiration at the many strategies DPS Dubai has consciously put in place to
improve upon, and once again breach the national agenda targets.
LIFE LONG LEARNERS
All of our successes and accomplishments, we owe to our dynamic teachers. Our
teachers have always been lifelong learners and our school facilitates this through
innovative workshops organized and conducted in-house, within the U.A.E. and
internationally.
The school conducts technology driven workshops to equip our teachers. Wellbeing
workshops for teachers are also conducted regularly.
DPS Dubai Continues to be Innovative, Creative, Collaborative and Leaders of

The Read Aloud competition DPS Dubai bagged two trophies and individual medals in two categories at the
Read Aloud competition organized by Indian High School.

It was indeed an utter privilege to have been visited by UK author, published Mr.
John Button and to have interacted with the charismatic author Dr. Terry
O’Brien.
TRAVEL, TRIPS, VISITS……
Travel opens our mind to myriad possibilities We are aware of the common elements between cultures and show appreciation
towards them.
The trips to the picturesque Himalayan paradise of Nainital, the magnificent tour of
East Europe were great learning experiences.
A visit to Heritage Village helped imbibe the ambiance of Historical Dubai and its
Historical significance.
Visit to The Al Farooq Omar Bin Al Khattab Mosque and Centre:
The students were awestruck by the sheer grandeur of the Al Farooq Omar Bin Al
Khattab Mosque which is inspired by the Ottoman architecture and is based on the
Blue Mosque in Istanbul.
The visit raised the awareness amongst our children about Islamic Civilization,
Arabic Heritage and the culture of the UAE. The Mosque also showcased itself as a
bridge between the East and the West.
A Visit to Think Science Fair:
Think Science is a platform geared towards the youth of the UAE. The students of
Grade XI had a wonderful learning experience at the Science Fair. The programme
pioneered by The Emirates Foundation is designed to help develop knowledge and
learning in the field of science and technology.
Indian Consulate Dubai hosts ISRO Symposium

The Grade IX students were thrilled to listen to the lectures delivered by eminent
scientist of Indian Space Research Organization hosted by Indian consulate Dubai.
DPS Dubai at MUN Simulations at La-Martiniere School for Boys, Kolkata
The students participated in seven extremely engrossing committees, each created
to stimulate innovative and thoughtful responses from the delegates both, in terms
of researching, and pondering over solutions.
Career Options for all at Career Fair
Our school not only provides us with the best of education, it also prepares us for
the real world and gives us the tools needed to succeed in it via guidance sessions,
career and university fairs, presentations by expert professionals.
Pre-departure sessions are conducted in which our alumni revisit their alma mater to
