So Peter was kept in prison, but the church was earnestly praying to God for him.

1. WE PRAY EARNESTLY WHEN

WE NEED DIRECTION FROM

GOD.

So Peter was kept in prison, but the church was earnestly praying to God for him.

ACTS 12:8-98 Then the angel said to him, “Put on your clothes and sandals.” And Peter did so. “Wrap your cloak around you and follow me,” the angel told him. 

ACTS 12:8-99 Peter followed him out of the prison, but he had no idea that what the angel was doing was really happening; he thought he was seeing a vision.

And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe

that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly

seek him.

3. WE PRAY EARNESTLY WHEN WE

NEED FREEDOM FROM ALL CHAINS

AND OPPRESSION OF THE ENEMY

So Peter was kept in prison, but the church was earnestly praying to God for him.

Then Peter came to himself and said, “Now I know without a doubt that the Lord has sent his angel and rescued me from Herod’s clutches and from everything the Jewish people were

hoping would happen.”

CHAINS AND OPPRESSIONS OF THE ENEMY IN OUR LIVES

4. WE PRAY EARNESTLY FOR OUR CHURCH TO BECOME MORE

PRAYERFUL.

Still shaking his head, amazed, he went to Mary’s house, the Mary who was John Mark’s mother. The house was packed with

praying friends

were praying.

Our prayer must be a habit, an EARNEST,

FERVENT and CONSISTENT prayer.
