ANNUAL CONFERENCE 2015 This year’s IIA Zimbabwe’s Annual Conference will run from 22nd to 25th September 2015 under the theme “Will the Sun Rise Tomorrow? Yes but...”. The theme is quite apt when we think about the hardships that this country is going through. Internal auditors have a huge role to play in taking Zimbabwe from the current quagmire to a better place. This year’s conference promises to be a game changer for auditors from all economic sectors. But not just for internal auditors including senior managers, board members and councillors, if one looks at the presenters and topics of this conference. The conference will be opened by the Minister of Finance, Hon. Patrick Chinamasa who will speak on the current internal audit governance in central government and how it can be improved. The current Under Secretary at the United Nations in charge of Internal Audit, Carman Lapointe, an A STAR conference presenter, will facilitate on “ What lies Ahead For Internal Audit”. The current chair of the King Committee, Mervyn King will talk on how good governance can create a lasting existence for enterprises in whatever sector. Then we have many more first class presenters who will grace this conference. This is certainly a conference not to be missed. Again it will be a massive networking event for you. CONSTRUCTION OF OUR OFFICES IN MARLBOROUGH HARARE
CODE OF CORPORATE GOVERNANCE ZIMBABWE
Internal Audit has a role to give life to this document by ensuring that our organisations apply its
provisions. In order for us to be able to do this we must familiarize ourselves with its contents. You
can purchase the code from our offices at the princely sum of $20. Every internal audit shop ought
to have this code in their library, for how else can you audit?
In addition to the code please familiarise yourselves with the International Professional Practices
Framework (IPPF) which houses the International Internal Auditing Standards, Code of Ethics,
Practice Guides and Advisories. You can get a soft or hard copy from the Institute’s office.
We are excited to inform you that construction began in earnest in March this year and is currently
in progress. We anticipate that we will move into our new home in the last quarter of 2015. What
a milestone for your Institute especially when one considers the prevailing economic situation.
WINTER SCHOOL 2015
Winter school will run from 22nd to 26th June 2015 at the Rainbow Hotel in Harare. This school
will benefit those individuals who intend to sit for the CIA. We will cover the bulk of the CIA
syllabus. It will benefit those who want to be grounded in an all-round knowledge of internal
auditing. So do come and join us.
Internal Auditor's 2015 Emerging Leaders
