GAME  DAY  WRAP  U14  (1)  Team  Name   Under  14  Division  1  Date   Saturday  June  17,  2017  Opposition   Broadbeach  Ground   Broadbeach  Score   PBC  19.9-‐66  def  Broadbeach  1.0-‐6      Goal  Scorers   Bailey,  Shaun,  Brinn,  Finn,  Ryan,  Oscar,  Luke,  Elliott  Best  Players   Bailey,  Brinn,  Finn,  Shaun,  Charles,  Ethan  K,  Wil  O’Brien,  Gannas  Magic  Moment   Brinn  captained  the  team  this  week.

The  boys  knew  that  they  needed  a  good  game  against  Broadbeach  to  bring  their  percentage  up  after  a  disappointing  loss  to  TWC  last  week.

With  five  regular  players  unavailable  this  week  it  was  great  to  see  Ethan,  Wil  and  Gannas  from  Div  2  doing  their  bit  to  help  Div  1  obtain  a  terrific  win  against  Broadie.

New  recruit  to  the  PBC  Lions,  Shaun  had  a  blinder  with  five  fantastic  goals.

Not  far  behind  him  was  Finn  with  4  goals.

Tackle  of  the  match  went  to  Cooper.

Of  course  the  team  is  devastated  to  hear  that  Ky  is  out  for  the  season  with  his  arm  injury  and  Ethan  F  is  out  for  four  weeks  with  a  knee  injury.

The  team  looks  forward  to  Issy’s  return  hopefully  next  game.

Until  next  week  …..  when  Manager  Trent  returns.

    GAME  DAY  WRAP  U14  (2)

Team  Name   U14  Division  2  Date   Sunday  June  18,  2017  Opposition     Tweed  Coolangatta  Ground   PBC  Salk  Oval  Score   TWC  9.8-‐62  def  PBC  5.3-‐33    Best  Players   Twiggy,  Jordan,  Ethan  K,  Will  G,  Dylan,  Zak,  Oscar,  Brody,  Luke  Magic  Moments   Will  G  captained  the  team  this  week.  The  boys  knew  that  this  was  always  going  to

be  a  tough  match  with  the  3rd  ranked  Lions  up  against  4th  ranked  TWC.

We  tried  hard  against  TWC  and  really  gave  TWC  a  run  for  their  money  in  the  second  half.  Alas  the  game  went  Tweed’s  way  -‐  helped  by  the  fact  that  a  number  of  their  Div  1  players  played  this  week.

With  four  of  our  regular  players  unavailable  to  play,  Coach  Adam  had  to  play  some  of  the  boys  in  different  positions.  Always  a  challenge.

What  is  great  about  this  Div  2  team  is  that  they  never  give  up  and  always  support  each  other.

Tackles  of  the  match  came  from  Twiggy  and  Zak.

Another  highlight  of  the  game  was  the  captivating  goals  scored  from  interesting  places  within  the  50.

Thanks  to  Luke  Cahill  for  stepping  in  for  our  injured  Max.  Speaking  of  Max  the  team  is  devastated  to  hear  that  Max  (our  no  fear  tackler  and  speed  demon)  is  out  for  10  weeks  with  his  collarbone  injury.  Until  next  week.

GAME  DAY  WRAP  U12  (1)  Team  Name   Under  12  Division  1  Date   Saturday  June  17,  2017  Opposition     Burleigh  Ground   Burleigh  Score   PBC  5.8-‐38  def  Burleigh  1.0-‐6      Best  Players   Jack,  Whato,  Sully,  Oscar,  Herb,  Foxy,  Torps  Coach’s  Comments

A  great  team  effort  after  coming  off  a  hard  loss  last  week  and  not  training  during  the  week  due  to  weather.

Burleigh  provided  a  tough  contest  and  the  boys  handled  the  wet  weather  conditions  well.

Harry  took  a  disliking  to  the  goal  post  whilst  taking  a  very  courageous  mark  with  his  eyes  on  the  ball!

GAME  DAY  WRAP  U12  (2)  Team  Name   Under  12  Division  2  Date   Sunday  June  18,  2017  Opposition   Tweed  Coolangatta  Ground   TWC  Score   Tweed  5.3-‐33  def  PBC  4.8-‐32    Best  Players   Ryan,  Sully,  Vince,  Oscar.  Coach’s  Comments   It  looks  like  we  need  some  kicking  at  Goal  practice  this  week.

In  a  game  where  we  dominated  possession,  kicking  points  in  the  first  quarter  with  the  wind  likely  cost  the  boys  a  win  in  the  end.  Effort,  energy  and  tackling  were  good  again.      Our  execution  and  ability  to  use  each  other  in  transition  was  not  as  efficient  this  week.    In  short  we  missed  a  fair  few  opportunities  in  a  game  we  had  the  majority  of  the  play.    No  problems  because  we  did  not  give  in,  our  team  spirit  is  great,  we  play  for  each  other  and  we  will  get  them  next  time!  The  last  two  weeks  does  shows  we  still  have  improvement  and  work  on  the  training  track  to  do.    Our  team  structure  was  better  however;  we  need  to  ensure  we  continue  to  improve  this  area  of  our  game.      I  saw  Oscar  really  doing  this  well  at  not  getting  to  deep  in  attack  or  defence  and  his  position  as  winger  for  transition  play  was  great.    Let’s  refocus  our  training  efforts  over  the  next  week’s  boys.    Looking  forward  to  a  bounce  back.      Regards  Brooksy

GAME  DAY  WRAP  U11  (GOLD)  Team  Name   Under  11  GOLD  Date   Friday  June  16,  2017  Opposition   Tweed  Coolangatta  Ground   TWC  Score   TWC  10.9-‐69  def  PBC  2.1-‐13    Magic  Moment   A  wet  and  chilly  Friday  night  away  game  against  an  undefeated  Tweed

Coolangatta,  who  were  celebrating  a  handful  of  players  making  the  50-‐games  point.

The  Golds  were  pushed  by  a  physical  and  fast  opposition  kicking  into  the  eastern  end  with  a  slight  wind  advantage  in  the  first  quarter,  and  with  a  slippery  ball,  it  was  hard  to  get  clean  possession  and  keep  it.

The  Tweed  Coolangatta  side  came  away  with  a  handful  of  goals  by  half  time,  and  the  Golds  only  managed  to  kick  one  straight  one.

In  the  3rd  quarter,  the  Golds  showed  some  good  spirit  to  be  competitive,  but  couldn't  quite  break  through  the  defensive  wall  and  strong  offensive  plays  to  pull  back  the  margin  on  the  scoreboard.

The  boys  kept  their  heads  up  and  fought  hard  right  to  the  end  but  were  against  a  better  side  on  the  day.

    GAME  DAY  U11  (MAROON)

Team  Name   Under  11  MAROON  Date   Saturday  June  17,  2017  Opposition   Surfers  Paradise  Red  Ground   Surfers  Score   PBC  13.4-‐82  def  Surfer  3.4-‐22  (adjusted  for  60-‐point  rule)    Magic  Moment   Our  game  against  Surfers  saw  our  boys  celebrate  with  a  win.

All  boys  tried  really  hard  in  wet  conditions  and  showed  great  sportsmanship.

    GAME  DAY  U10  (GOLD)

Team  Name   Under  10  GOLD  Date   Sunday  June  18,  2017  Opposition   Broadbeach  Red  Ground   PBC  Salk  Oval    Captain   Digger  Watts  Magic  Moment   The  boys  played  very  well  -‐  it  was  very  close  and  we  kept  them  from

scoring  too  many  goals.    Sensational  tackling  lead  by  an  inspirational  in  the  3rd  quarter  by  Pat.    Boys  should  hold  their  head  high  -‐  they  played  a  great  game!      See  you  next  week  at  home  -‐  remember  to  learn  our  club  song!!!

GAME  DAY  U10  (MAROON)    Team  Name   Under  10  MAROON  Date   Sunday  June  18,  2017  Opposition   Broadbeach  Yellow  Ground   Broadbeach  Captain   Kody  Magic  Moment   The  boys  started  a  bit  quietly  in  the  first  quarter.    But  once  they  all

started  to  man  up  to  their  players,  the  game  turned  and  goals  were  scored.  They  managed  to  stop  a  few  goals  from  the  other  team.  Great  game  boys.

    GAME  DAY  U10  (BLUE)

Team  Name   Under  10  BLUE  Date   Sunday  June  18,  2017  Opposition   Broadbeach  Blue  Ground   Broadbeach  Captain    Magic  Moment   Thankfully  we  had  great  weather  to  play  this  Sunday  morning.

The  sun  was  shining,  it  was  a  bit  windy  but  didn't  stop  us  from  playing  the  game  of  the  season.

Broadbeach  came  out  fighting  and  made  us  step  up  and  play  really  hard.

The  boys  did  great  again  getting  it  out  from  the  middle  into  our  forward  line  to  kick  goals.

Broadbeach  had  some  strong  players  but  we  went  head  to  head  to  beat  them  in  the  back  line,  middle  and  forward.

Well  done  boys,  we  played  the  game  of  the  season  and  we  played  together  to  come  out  on  top.

song  loud  and  proud  on  their  home  ground  Coach’s  Comments   Sunday  morning  was  a  nice  early  start  for  our  girls  but  they  were

determined  that  Southport  weren’t  going  to  get  the  better  of  them.

Our  Lionesses  came  out  with  a  roar  and  our  Backline  played  the  best  we  have  seen  this  season  and  that  is  why  we  came  away  the  four  points.

The  passages  of  play  were  outstanding  and  we  played  some  very  impressive  footy.

Welcome  back  to  Hayley  getting  to  play  her  first  game  of  footy  for  the  year.

Congratulations  to  Khloe  and  Lily  on  their  first  game  as  lionesses.

GAME  DAY  WRAP  U13  (GIRLS)  Team  Name   U13  Girls  Date   Saturday  June  17,  2017  Opposition     Ormeau  Ground   Ormeau  Sports  park    Score   Ormeau  6.6-‐42  def  PBC  4.7-‐31  Goal  Scorers     Mia,  Bella,  Piper  and  Zarli  Best  Players   Jayda,  Ash,  Mia,  Zarli,  Kelly  and  Piper  Magic  Moment   Jayda’s  determination  and  second  efforts.  Coach’s  Comments   What  a  game!!

You  girls  gave  it  everything  you  had  especially  without  a  bench  and  were  extremely  unlucky  not  to  get  the  win.  The  last  quarter  was  the  first  time  I  could  see  you  really  wanted  that  win  and  the  fire  in  the  belly.

I  hope  to  see  that  determination  in  every  game  as  we  know  you  girls  could  take  it  to  the  top  teams  and  win.

Our  backline  maybe  one  of  the  smallest  but  it's  one  of  the  toughest  and  they  played  a  crucial  part  in  today's  game.

Well  done  to  Ash  –  your  opponent  may  have  been  bigger  but  you  were  faster  and  more  determined  and  that's  why  you  play  that  key  defending  role.

Ella,  Molly,  Azia  and  Kelly  also  played  a  huge  part  in  stopping  goals.

Zarli  and  Mia  –  one  of  the  best  games  I  have  seen  you  girls  play  and  the  confidence  you  both  have  gained  is  amazing  to  see.

Jasper,  Bella,  and  Lily  –  you  really  have  improved  and  helped  keep  the  ball  in  the  forward  line  for  a  majority  of  the  game.

Piper  always  plays  her  role  well  and  loves  to  take  down  the  opposition  with  massive  hits.

Congratulations  to  Jayda  who  got  player  of  the  day.  You  were  everywhere,  best  game  I  have  seen  you  play  and  the  second  efforts,  amazing  as  you  never  gave  up  and  weren't  afraid  to  take  on  girls  twice  your  size.

Can't  wait  for  the  rest  of  the  season.
