President’s Corner

Greetings Friends:

We appear to have been gifted with much rain which has benefited our community well. Homes

are looking good and we are proceeding well with the projects we embarked upon at the

beginning of the year. We are still collecting signed instruments in order to allow the board to

make decisions on a case by case basis. One of the biggest frustrations we have encountered is

saying no to something that makes sense but is inconsistent with the bylaws. You can be assured

that nobody takes any satisfaction in saying no on this board.

I want to thank our Communications Specialist, Nancy Wade, for taking on the task of doing a

newsletter that will be available online through our website. If anybody is not able to receive

emails, we can have information delivered to your door. Please indicate so by calling Coastal

Management or by contacting her directly @ 727-857-7060.

This will be my last communication with you as President as I will be stepping down shortly.

My house has sold and my wife and I are moving south to be closer to the Veterans

Administration. Being your president has been an absolute honor and I hope that I have made a

small difference in the community during the short time that I served.

The board will convene in the coming days to indicate which direction they will proceed, in

regards to leadership. As a retired pastor and therapist, I can say that this board has operated

with the utmost integrity and concern for the neighborhood than I could have ever hoped for. I

ask for your continued support in helping them in maintaining the highest standards for our

community and trusting them to do what they have volunteered to do. They really are a good set

of neighbors.

Until we meet again,

Ron M. Wood, M.Div, M.A.

Free fishing days provide an excellent opportunity for parents who don’t yet have licenses to take youth fishing, or avid anglers to introduce a friend to fishing without having to purchase a license. On these days, the fishing license requirement is waived for all recreational anglers (residents and non-residents). All other rules (e.g., seasons, bag and size limits) apply. The saltwater waiver applies to any recreational harvest requiring a saltwater fishing license (e.g., crabbing, lobstering, scalloping, etc.) as well as fishing from shore or a boat. A snook or spiny lobster permit are not required on these days.

Cost: Free to the public
