Hey Everyone! Well, as all of you know we had a June PCM on June 24th at the Trinity River, and let me tell you, for those who went it was pretty amazing! Mrs. Newsham was there as well as 2 offi- cers from Boswell and a representative from Lake Worth since none of the Lake Worth Of- ficers were able to make it. I was so proud of these people for taking time out of their day to come and sit through my meeting, although it was very nice outside! For the next PCM if you are not able to make it, please have someone represent you! It can be a member or anyone else! Remember, PCM are for all members, not just the president, nor the officers! I hope the turn out for the next PCM we have will be bet- ter! Especially since we will be hitting things from Summer Board in it! Hey Everyone!

Well, as all of you know we had a June PCM on June 24th at the Trinity River, and let me tell you, for those who went it was pretty amazing!

Mrs. Newsham was there as well as 2 offi-cers from Boswell and a representative from Lake Worth since none of the Lake Worth Of-ficers were able to make it.

I was so proud of these people for taking time out of their day to come and sit through my meeting, although it was very nice outside!

For the next PCM if you are not able to make it, please have someone represent you! It can be a member or anyone else! Remember, PCM are for all members, not just the president, nor the officers!

Summer Board!

For those who don’t know exactly what summer board is, it is a way for the whole board (including yours truly!) to unite for a weekend and review needed materials, talk about important things both we need to know as well as relay of information that the clubs and officers need to know. This is very helpful as it will serve as a kind of training session so that I know exactly what you guys need to be on top of, what you guys need to know, and exactly how to do the things you do!

I’m so stoked for it, and hope that I can come back being the best lieutenant governor that I can be!

At ICON we held our International Elections! [if you don’t know what that is, go to page 5!] Meet your new Board! First, our International President is Annie Lweondoski from the Pacific-Northwest District! This girl was once our International Trustee for the mighty Texas-Oklahoma Dis-trict, but now is our International President! Congrats Annie! I know that this girl will make Key Club shine another wonderful year!

Next, our International Vice President is Catt Lovins, from the Southwest District And finally, the new International Trustees: - Nick DePorzio, from the Southwest District - Jared Greene, from the New Jersey District - Somya Gupta, from the Wisconsin-Upper Michigan District - Kayla Lash, from the Pennsylvania District - Lucy McDermott, from the New England District - Yoo Eun Kim, from the Pacific-Northwest District - Randolph McKinnie, from the Florida District - Rebecca Riley, from the Alabama District - Alan Wang, from the Capital District - Austin Wu, from the California-Nevada-Hawaii District - Josiah Zitterkob, from the Pacific-Northwest District Congratulations to all of these people and let’s give a

Also, two members who recently joined our board in the last month, Colten Meisner our Convention Liason and Kaitlyn Levett our District Editor! Here are their Biographies, so we can know a little about themselves! Colten: “I am Colten Meisner, the newly appointed 2011-2012 Texas-Oklahoma Key Club District Convention Liaison. I am from Early, Texas, where Early High School Key Club is my home club. I am so excited to officially say that alongside my good friend, fellow Early Key Club member, and new District Editor, Kaitlyn Levett, I am officially a member of the District Staff! To give some more information about me personally, I am the youngest of three brothers in my family. I am a junior-to-be at Early High School, where I was the Secretary of the EHS Key Club in 2010-11 and the Vice President-elect for 2011-12. I am also the President of my freshman and sophomore classes, actively involved in debate, and I actively participate in competitive speech events. My goals for the year as Convention Liaison are to use District Convention (a venue with 1100+ people in attendance in past years) to its full potential. If DCON has this many people attending, the experience has to be incredible to have these people feel their call to serve their communities. In order to do this, EACH and EVERY committee, chairperson, and board member must be committed to achieve a common goal: an impactful convention. Also, I want to modernize DCON, looking at service from a 21st century perspective, and I would like to use members in Key Club from across Texas and Oklahoma to contribute to the success of District Convention. I look forward to this year with great hope of putting on, in conjunction with the District Staff, Board, and Clubs, the greatest, power-packed District Convention that Texas and Oklahoma has ever seen. With that, I cannot wait to work with each of you in the coming year.

In service, Colten Meisner

And now, from Kaitlyn: “Hello, Key Club!

I’m Kait Levett, the new Texas-Oklahoma District Editor for 2011-2012. I am so excited to be on board with all of these amazing and passionate people, and I know we’re going to have a great year. As you may know, my home club is ALSO Early High School Key Club and I’m proud to say that my Division... well, Divisions, has the most members on this year’s District Board! We’ve got the Editor, Convention Liaison, and a Lieuten-ant Governor. Oh, yes. Momma’s proud of ya’ll. A little more about myself— I’m an upcoming senior at Early High School and served as Vice President of Early Key Club in 2010-2011. Before being appointed as District Editor, I was elected as Early Key Club’s President for 2011-2012, but now that I’m stepping in a different direction, Key Club member Loriza Ibarra is taking over and I’m more than confident that she’ll blow it out of the water. I’m also the captain of my school’s dance team, the Belles, and I choreograph our routines along with my co-captains. I love to write and this year I was lucky enough to make it all the way to the State UIL conference and win 3rd place in Ready Writing! I plan to go to UT and major in Biology, then go on to medical school to become a physician. This year as District Editor, I’m hoping to really keep everyone in the loop with LOTS of Tex-O-Key vol-umes and newsletters to all you LTGs out there. If it’s possible, I’d like to do a monthly Tex-O-Key starting in Au-gust that has plenty of input and articles about what’s going on from key clubbers all across the District. I love to hear from all of you! That way, other clubs can get ideas for projects and fundraisers and we can share ideas to grow every piece of the Texas-Oklahoma District. Each edition of the Tex-O-Key will have a general theme that centers on a specific area of Key Club duties and all the articles will tell how all the different clubs are getting that specific project done. Each edition will preview the next edition’s theme so lots of people can be writing articles pertinent to the subject matter to send in and get published. Soon, I’ll be introducing all of the new Executive Board Members to all of you clubbers, so you can get to know the guys (and gals) in charge! I can’t wait to hear from everyone out there this year and publish articles with lots of personality. Please feel free to call, text, email or Facebook me any time.”

water park, paid gift card, Meet and Greet, Caucus, Charity Walk, 2 Themed dances, Workshops, Sessions, talent competitions and the House of Delegates where the new International Board was voted for! This and more at this year’s ICON 2011!”

ICON 2012:

If that got you pumped for ICON, let me get you even MORE pumped for next year’s! It will be held in beautiful Orlando, Florida!

We will be holding it in the hotel across from Downtown Disney, with just as much amazing things planned as we did in the city of Pheniox!

ICON 2011:

Welcome back home to all the ICON-ers who went to this year’s ICON in sunny Phoe-nix, Arizona! For those who do not know what exactly ICON is, it’s similar to DCON, where you get to meet fellow Key Clubbers & train for your next year of officer duties, how to become a better leader, or just how to help manage stress, there are forums to help you with so many things, and you get to do it while having a lot of fun as well!

Here is a wrap up of this year’s ICON:
