A colourful ceremonial parade was held on 30th August, 2010 on the occasion of the passing out of the 34th Batch of Sub Inspector/Executives at NISA Parade Ground. Shri N R Das, IPS, Director General of CISF was the Chief Guest and he reviewed the parade. A total of 413 trainees, including 46 lady trainees, passed out from the Academy after successfully completing their basic training for 48 weeks. In his address, the Chief Guest conveyed his compliments to the trainees for their smart turnout and high standard of parade. The Director General reiterated that the officers pass- ing out are indeed fortunate to join CISF – the Force of the Future. He also drew attention to the fact that CISF, in the recent past, has had to face attacks in Naxal ef- fected areas, which calls for excellence in training and dedication towards duty. Shri R R Bhardwaj, IG/Training Sector and Di- rector NISA presented the course report and hoped that the rigours of training imparted at the Academy will make the trainees stand in good stead in their profes- sional career. The Chief Guest also gave away trophies to the trainees who had excelled in Indoor, Outdoor, Firing and All Round Best. He also interacted freely with the parents and guardians of the passing out Sub- Officers, congratulating them for the success of their wards. Shri R R Bhardwaj IG (1975, CISF) has taken over chargefrom Shri R K Mishra, IPS as Director NISA and IG TrainingSector. Shri Bhardwaj joined CISF in 1975 as Asst Commandant.After serving as Commandant at various places, he was promotedas Deputy Inspector General in the year 2000 and has held severalimportant posts since then, including DIG (ADM), DIG (OPS) andDIG (INT) at Force HQrs, New Delhi and DIG CISF Unit BCCLDhanbad. Shri Bhardwaj is a recipient of the President’s PoliceMedal for Meritorious Services in 1994 and President’s PoliceMedal for Distinguished Service s in the year 2000. Shri Bhardwajhas also had a stint with the UN Peace Keeping in Sudan.
Shri Bhardwaj was elevated to the rank of InspectorGeneral and joined NISA on 23.08.10. The NISA Family welcomesits new Director.

The 63rd Independence Day wascelebrated in the Academy with traditional pompand gaiety. Shri B Chandra Sekhar IPS, DIG/NISAhoisted the National Flag which was followed byan impressive Parade commanded by AssistantCommandant K K Kalingan, at the NISACeremonial Parade Ground.
In his address, DIG NISA exhorted thegathering to follow the ideals of India’s freedomfighters. He highlighted the current securityscenario and recent terror attacks andemphasized the need for remaining ever vigilant.He later distributed prizes to the winners of aPainting Competition held for the wards of NISAand FSTI staff.

ATA-7469, Critical Incident Management Course washeld from 13-24th of Sept 2010 at NISA . The Coursewas inaugurated by the US Consul General inHyderabad Ms Katherine Dhanani. The Course isbeing conducted under the aegis of the Anti-Terrorism Assistance Programme of the USDepartment of State. 03 Instructors from the USconducted various training modules. The objective ofthe Course was to sensitize response managersregarding new trends in terrorism, their modusoperandi and to develop a framework that can beeffectively used in their states/organizations forcritical incident management. 18 senior officers ofthe rank of DIsG,SPs and Commandants of StatePolice and Central Paramilitary Forces attended the

An impressive Oath Taking Ceremony was
held at NISA Quarter Guard on 23.07.2010 to
mark the Passing Out of the 9th Batch ASI/Stenos
& HC/Clerks.Dr. C. Sambashiva Rao , IPS, DIG/
CRPF Group Center Hyderabad graced the
occasion as the Chief Guest. In his speech, Dr Rao
urged the passing-out trainees to constantly hone
their skills, which will help them to discharge their
duties effectively and efficiently. Dr Rao also
distributed prizes to the best trainees.

A Training of Trainers Course for the Screenersof Aviation Security Group of CISF was conductedunder the aegis of the Indo-UK Cooperation in AviationSecurity at the Academy from 7th -10th Sept 2010.Shri M S Bali, IPS, Additional Director General ,AirportSector, CISF inaugurated the course.
The objective of the course was to familiarizethe participants with various threat perceptions anddimensions of civil aviation security and the ‘bestpractices’ and screening techniques adopted in theUK. Ms Mary Winchester and Mr Simon C Bolt fromthe UK were the faculty for the course. A total of 176screeners and instructors from various ASGs and NISA
