This academic activities of IAP-ID for 2010 was off to a flying start with the highly successful Mid Year Teaching Programme on “Fluorescence in Pathology” held at All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi, in May. As with all academic activities conducted by the IAP-ID the CME was of the highest standard and excellent in content and its conduct and attracted a large number of delegates from all over the country. On behalf of the IAP-ID our thanks are due to Dr. Manoj Singh and his team for the excellent Programme. It is indeed heartening to see the whole hearted and active participation of the members in attending the various academic programmes of the IAP-ID. Coming up soon in September is the IAP-ID Annual CME on the very important theme of “Diabetes” and will be held at the M. S. Ramiah Medical College, Bangalore, and after that the Annual Conference in December at Hyderabad. Both these meetings promise to be very interesting and useful and I am sure that the members of the IAP-ID would actively participate and make full use of these excellent opportunities to update their knowledge with the latest in the field as well as use these meetings as a forum to exchange their views and experiences with others. The IAP-ID has achieved great heights in the last many years and has many things to be rightly proud of. One of this, which deserves special mention, is the excellent website of our Division www.iapid.org of which all of us should be proud of. My dear friends,
Greetings and best wishes to you all. This academic activities of IAP-ID for

This year for the IAP-ID Annual Meeting 2010 at Katriya Hotel & Towers, Hyderabad, in December
this year our invited Guest Speaker will be Prof. Dr. H. K. Ng, Associate Dean (Education) and Chair Professor
of Anatomical & Cellular Pathology, Chief of Service and Chairman, Department of Anatomical & Cellular
Pathology, The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK), Hong Kong. The IAP-ID is deeply honoured and
happy to have Prof. H. K. Ng attend the Meeting. A brief biodata of Prof. H. K. Ng is given here under for

Prof. Dr. H. K. Ng is currently the Associate Dean(Education) and Chair Professor of Anatomical & CellularPathology, Chief of Service and Chairman, Department ofAnatomical & Cellular Pathology, The Chinese University ofHong Kong (CUHK); Vice Director, State Key Laboratory forOncology (South China), China. He had his career appointmentsall at the Department of Anatomical & Cellular Pathology, theChinese University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong and was AssistantProfessor (Lecturer) in 1983, Senior Lecturer (AssociateProfessor) in 1990, Professor (Reader) in 1994 and ChairProfessor in 2000
Dr. H. K. Ng had his Medical Education at the EdinburghUniversity, U.K. (1977-82) from where he graduated MB ChB,with Distinctions in Pathology and Bacteriology and thenDoctor of Medicine (by research) from the Chinese Universityof Hong Kong in 1992.
Dr. H. K. Ng has great Administrative Experience and hasbeen Associate Dean (Education ) 2004-; Chairman, UniversityDepartment 1999-; Chief of Service, Hospital PathologyDepartment at Prince of Wales Hospital, Hong Kong, 1999-;and, Vice-Director, State Key Laboratory On Oncology (SouthChina), China, 2006-. He has Licensures from Britain (1983)and Hong Kong (1983). Prof. H. K. IAP-ID Academic Activities 2011
The IAP-ID has the following programmes
during the course of the year:
· Mid Year Teaching Programme (usually a
Workshop)
· IAP-ID Annual CME
· Annual Meeting (usually held in conjunction
with IAPM Meeting) having a Symposium
and Slide Seminar.
Those members desirous of organizing
and hosting the Mid Year Teaching Programme
2011 or the 14th IAP-ID Annual CME 2011
should send their concrete proposals with the
theme of the meeting to the Secretary &
Treasurer, Dr. Krishna Balachandran Nair.
For the Annual Meeting 2011 (held along
with the IAPM Conference), those desirous of
being Moderators for the Symposium or Slide
Seminar should send in their names along with
the proposed title of the Symposium and Slide
Seminar to the Secretary & Treasurer, IAP-ID.
Also as per the decision of the General Body of
the IAP-ID certain topics have been suggested
as possible subjects for the Slide Seminar and
Symposium. Members desirous of being
Moderators for any of these topics should send
their names to the Secretary & Treasurer,
IAP-ID. However, as per the decision of the
Council and General Body of the IAP-ID, the
person selected as the moderator shall be the
one who is felt to be best suited to be for the
particular topic of the Symposium or Slide
Seminar.
All proposals should reach the Secretary
& Treasurer, IAP-ID, by 15th October 2010, so
as the same proposals could be discussed and
approved by the Council and General Body of
the IAP-ID.

I am very happy to present this issue of IAP ID
Newsletter Vol 13 No. 2 July 2010 incorporating all
the events in the Indian division of IAP as well as
the providing information on the forthcoming
activities.
As you all know newsletters keeps all the
members updated about the activities of the
organisation I earnestly request all members to send
the inputs to me so that relavant material can be
put in.
The news letter needs to be self financing so
as not to drain the corpus fund of IAPID. I earnestly
