About the Program This is a federal grant program that assists low-income, unemployed people 55
years of age or older who meet specific income and residence requirements, and
provides part-time employment opportunities with 501(c)3 non-profit organizations
such as the Hagerman Valley Foundation.
A Dual Mission This program has a dual mission - community service and employment. Community
service partners such as the Hagerman Valley Foundation identify the staff they
need but don’t have the resources to hire. While working for Hagerman Valley
Foundation and enhancing its services to the community, Experience Works pays
the wages and benefits. This fantastic opportunity to provide older workers with a
chance to use their lifetime of wisdom and work is one of the great hallmarks of this
program and why it has been so popular throughout its 50 year history.
Hagerman Valley Foundation The Foundation is very pleased to accept all qualified applicants. Our broad sched-ule of events and activities provides plenty of employment opportunities needed for Hagerman Valley Seniors. Please call us today. (208) 536-0094

I hope we all are enjoying the summer. Busi-nesses are opening back up after covid-19 restrictions have been lifted, and it looks like they are doing well. I hope this continues for them, but the pandemic is not over yet so let's continue to practice good sanitation and distancing especially around those in a high-risk group.
The city business will continue as normal. The doors are now open for Council meetings so come on in and let us hear your voice. The doors will remain closed during the work days due to the fact we only have two employees running the office and we need to ensure no one in the office comes down with the virus or can pass it on to you. Business is being done as normal. You can mail in your bills, you can drop off your bills, you can call the city hall at 208 837 6636 and, if they can't fix any situation over the phone, they will make an appointment for you to come in and speak with them directly using proper sanitation and distancing.
Since February 4th we have been working on a new animal control ordinance mostly cen-tered around some of the issues that we have
been up against on the Dog control. Lately we have had workshops, public input and just this last week we sat down as a council and went through every code on the animal con-trol line by line. I believe the changes are good for the city and will make it more user-friendly for those of us who love our animals and also make it more enforceable for the city.
This was the first code we are revising and we intend to go through the code book and bring the codes up to date. We also are working on updating tha Personnel Policy handbook.
I want to give a big shout out to all the fire-men, and quick response crew that have been busy lately and work in very dangerous condi-tions. Thank you for having a hero's heart, and taking care of Hagerman as well as the surrounding areas.
Your work is well appreciated, Thank You!

HAGERMAN FIRE DISTRICT By Tim Peterson, Fire Chief
This spring has seen some strange tem-
peture fluctuations along with even meas-
urable snow at higher elevations in the
past few weeks. We have also had some
lightening strikes that have started wild-
land fires as well in the Magic Valley. The
predictions from the National Weather
service are for us to have a warmer than
normal July thru September this season.
We all need to be very careful with our
outside fires for the remainder of the sea-
son, make sure your trailer chains are not
dragging when traveling, and make sure
you’re not parking vehicles in tall dry
grass. We also see several fire starts each
year with welding and grinding opera-
tions. Have someone on fire watch and
water available if engaged in these opera-
tions.
