Chamber Fun Day July 19th Agriculture Committee: The Ag Committee has selected the menu for the NDSU Field Day lunch. The 4-H picnic was held June 27th. They are con-tinuing to plan for the 2013 WRLS. Ambassadors /Membership Committee: The committee has been very busy with ribbon cuttings in the area. The 2013 Chamber Golf Fun Day will be held on July 19, 2013. Registration & sponsorship forms are available. Leadership Dickinson Committee: They have begun planning for 2013/2014 program. Sponsor-ships are available. Promotions Committee: The committee will begin their Back to School Campaign . The 2013 Holiday Craft Show will be held at the Astoria on December 7th from 9am to 4pm. Registration opened April 1st, 2013, spots are still available. Business After Hours The next BAH is August 6th hosted by The Dickinson Press. Government Affairs Committee: The Governmental Affairs Committee next meeting will be August 22nd, 2013.

American Bank Center Announcements

In order to provide more access to the increasing demands of health care services in western North Dakota, Sanford Hearing Centers has recently opened a clinic in Dickinson.

Krystal Mann, AuD, originally from Gladstone, is now located in the Sanford Health Hearing Center in Dickinson. She had been seeing audiology patients at the Sanford Hearing Center in the Seventh & Broadway Clinic in Bismarck and at the Sanford Health Dickinson Clinic. The clinic will provide the same comprehensive newborn-to-geriatric audiology health care services as the other Hearing Center locations in Bismarck, Jamestown and Valley City, including hearing and tinnitus evalua-tions, limited dizziness and balance evaluations, hearing aid sales and hearing aid fittings, adjust-ments, repairs and batteries. The clinic’s hours are 8 a.m.–noon and 1–5 p.m. Monday through Friday. The Sanford Health Hearing Center is located in Suite B of the Occupational Medicine Clinic building at 1531 W. Villard St., Dickinson. The phone number is (701) 225-7188.

American Bank Center has the following announcements.

Dylan Fridrich has been named a part-time Account Tech in the Dickinson office. Dylan is a graduate of Trinity High School and is currently working towards a degree in Business Administration and Banking/Finance from Dickinson State University.

Trisha Freidt has been named an Account Manager in the Dickinson office. Trisha is a graduate of Dickinson State University. Trisha brings prior insurance experience with her to American.

Melissa Moos has been named a part-time Teller at the Dickinson downtown location. Melissa is pursing a Business Degree at Dickinson State University. Melissa brings prior customer service and retail experience with her to American.

Marlena Staudinger has been named Electronic Banking CSR at the Downtown Dickinson loca-tion. Marlena previously worked for American from 2005 to 2012. Marlena is a graduate of Dick-

inson State University.

Todd Schweitzer, an American Family Insurance agent in Dickinson, has been recognized for providing outstanding customer experience under the American Star Excellence in Customer Experience Certification. Todd joins other American Family agents who have demonstrated the highest level of commitment to outstanding cus-tomer service. Todd has been an agent for American Family since February 1986, his office is located at 204 Sims, Suite 202 in Dickin-son. Only agencies that perform in the top 20 percent of all insurance agencies nationwide, based on customer satisfaction surveys, are eligible to become American Star Excellence in Customer Experience certified.

The 11th Annual President’s Circle Awards dinner for Advanced Business Methods was re-cently held at the ECCE Art Gallery in Fargo. Mike Knuth (along with seven others) was recognized for his outstanding sales achievement by President Ken Retzer.

This was the third year for Mike to be honored in the President’s Circle. He has been with ABM for five years. He is a sales representative in the Dickinson territory and lives in rural Hettinger.

Advanced Business Methods has offices in Minot, Bismarck, Dickinson, West Fargo and Grand Forks. The company is an authorized dealer for Savin and Canon copiers, selling and servicing office equipment throughout North Dakota and Northern Minnesota.

Advanced Business Methods Honors Mike Knuth

DOWL HKM is a multi-disciplined consulting firm that has provided civil engineering and related services for nearly 60 years in the region. The Dickinson branch was opened in 2011 and we are happy to an-nounce new engineers, Chris Smith, P.E. and Jed Zook, E.I.

Chris joins the office from Salt Lake City where he worked in transportation engineering design, and construction man-

agement. Jed joins the office from Las Vegas where he worked in geotechnical engineering, materials testing and con-

struction inspection. Chris and Jed are currently assisting with the design of NDDOT projects near New England and

Williston Main Street, and construction engineering for the Villard reconstruction.

Smith and Zook join DOWL HKM

Marco Inc., a technology resources company, announced the promotion of Adam Ramberg to IT service manager for

North Dakota and South Dakota. Ramberg has more than 10 years of experience in the IT service industry and has an

information systems degree from the University of North Dakota in Grand Forks. He has been with Marco since 2009.

KLJ, a multi-disciplinary engineering and planning firm, hired Keith Johnson, Heidi Larson and Mark Milstone in the Dickinson office.

Keith is a senior engineer with the oil field services group. Specifically, he is a petroleum engineer with extensive experi-ence in design, installation, maintenance and repair of petroleum liquids transportation piping and storage facilities. Keith earned a bachelor’s degree in petroleum engineering from Tulsa University.

Keith has nearly 50 years of related experience with 22 years of private petroleum industry experience throughout the US and 25 years of experience with the US Department of Defense in European and far-east Asian locations.

Heidi is an administrative assistant with the administration group. She earned a bachelor’s degree in business admini-stration from Dickinson State University. Heidi has more than 10 years of related work experience.

Mark is an engineer with the surface transportation group. He earned a bachelor’s degree in civil and environmental en-gineering from University of Wisconsin, in addition to a bachelor’s degree in earth and atmospheric science from Rutgers University.

Mark is a professional engineering in Arizona, Colorado, North Dakota, Nevada, Texas, and Wisconsin. He has more than 30 years’ experience in the study and design of highways, roadways, traffic signing and marking, water, utility coor-dination, right-of-way, permitting, construction phasing/traffic control procedures, construction management, public involvement and agency coordination.

AE2S’ DeBOER EARNS ONE OF WATER INDUSTRY’S HIGHEST HONORS

AE2S’ (Advanced Engineering and Environmental Services, Inc.) Special Projects Engi-neer Delvin DeBoer, PhD, PE, was the recipient of the 2013 Abel Wolman Award of Excellence from the American Water Works Association (AWWA) at its 2013 Annual Conference and Exposi-tion (ACE). The ACE Conference is the most comprehensive and diverse water conference in the world, and was held June 9-13 in Denver, CO.

The Abel Wolman Award is the AWWA's premier award, recognizing those whose careers in the water profession exem-plify vision, creativity, and excellent professional performance characteristic of Dr. Wolman. His contributions to the water industry defined the development of the engineering profession, most notably in the public health aspects of engi-neering.

“Del DeBoer is one of the best and most respected engineers in our field. He has helped countless municipalities, re-gional water systems, and industries solve their water challenges. In addition, he has helped shaped the careers of hun-dreds of water professionals,” said Deon Stockert, PE, AE2S Drinking Water Group Manager.

Dr. DeBoer has demonstrated his leadership abilities throughout his career, during which he has held increasingly chal-lenging positions. Most recently at AE2S, Dr. DeBoer has been assisting AE2S clients with water treatment in Fargo, Bis-marck, Jamestown, Williston, Ray and New Town, ND; St. Cloud, MN; and Brookings, SD.

Dr. DeBoer joined AE2S in 2012 after spending 31 years at South Dakota State University (SDSU) where he was a highly regarded environmental engineering professor. At SDSU, Dr. DeBoer's research program focused on water quality, water treatment, and water distribution related to municipal and industrial systems. Outreach for his research projects, focus-ing on finding practical solutions to problems faced by water supply systems, frequently included on-site operator train-ing and local/regional conference and seminar presentations.

Dr. DeBoer has authored or co-authored several published articles and has provided presentations at local, regional, na-tional, and international conferences. He served as the Vice Chair, Chair, Past Chair, and Director of the South Dakota Section of the AWWA. In recognition of his service, he was awarded the George Warren Fuller Award by the South Da-kota Section in 1992 and became a Life Member of AWWA in 2011.

Marathon Oil receives partnership building award

Marathon Oil Company of Dickinson received the North Dakota Association of Nonprofit Or-ganizations’ Partnership Building Award during the Nonprofit Leadership Conference Jun 5th in Fargo.

The Partnership Building Award is given to an organization that has demonstrated community leadership and built part-nerships within the North Dakota nonprofit sector. Nonprofits, for-profit businesses, government agencies and educa-tional institutions are eligible for this award.

Under the leadership of Terry Kovacevich, regional vice president of the Bakken Asset, Marathon actively builds commu-nity leadership throughout western North Dakota.

Terry and many of the North Dakota Marathon employees participate as board members, hold leadership positions, lead fundraising and volunteer in numerous nonprofits.
