I will try to get to the away junior games in the second half of the season to watch & report. The cricket club & ourselves are working out a new agreement for the best solution for both clubs to cohabitate as we are now all year round. enquiry to use that time slot which we rejected due to our teams training. No one turned up, the cost we missed out on was $1000. Please be responsible. To the team which did not bother to turn up for their umpiring duties the fines were $750 from WA Hockey, I will be discussing this with you shortly. BE Responsible. PREMIER LEAGUE Mens Premier Alliance vs Hale No report Ladies Willow Bridge League vs Joondalup (Won 3 - 1) Goals: S. Tweddle, C. Surman, L. Stratton A good, solid win this week girls. We had a lot more opportunities which we were able to convert. Well done. Ladies Promotion 2 vs University (Lost 1 - 2) Best: S. Billingham, S. Clark, A. Sperinck/I. Brockman The team showed some good possession in a tough fought game. Last weekend’s break did not work in our favour, although Maddie Brockman’s jet lag didn't seem to impede her. Next game we need to channel the ball with concise passing and trapping. No need for singing but we do need to find our voices! PROVISIONAL LEAGUE Mens Provisional 1 vs Joondalup No report Ladies Provisional 1 vs UWA (Lost 1 - 2) Best: E. Woodberry, J. Hadley/S. Coggan, U. Papendieck Goals: J. Hadley The first half: we were awesome and did exactly as we planned. We wanted the ball more than Uni and all our attacking opportunities resulted in a hard fought goal to Jaimee. With the score 1-nil at half time I thought we'd follow through. After Oggy left for his game we apparently crumpled. Letting them get goals was a bit tragic but we made them work for it. Just need to be a lil bit more consistent to be there for finals. Last piece of advice to the girls... almost doesn't win games, we must push hard and follow through not only for yourself but your team mates.

Ladies Provisional 2 Gold vs Old Aquinians (Won 2 - 0) Best: E. Douglas Fabulous game today girls. Loved the way the team came together with good short passing and setting up play towards the circle. Many thanks to Brianna and Jenny for assisting us today. You both contributed brilliantly to our team effort. Ladies Provisional 3 Gold vs Rockingham (Drew 0 - 0) Best: Whole team Well Ladies we all made it to Rockingham with little difficulty and I assume that everyone found their way home. With 10 players we all played a full game and kept Rockingham at bay for a nil all score at full time and even had a lot of play in our half of the ground, we certainly had our opportunities in the 'D' but they had a lot more. Team moral was the highest I've seen this season with lots of calling and team support. Thanks to Mark/Dad for driving all the way out to the game to get us sorted before driving an hour to his game. I'm sure we all enjoyed our little team pitstop to Macca's on the way home. Once again well done girls and I'll see you next weekend for the win.

Mens Provisional 4 vs Dale No report METROPOLITAN LEAGUE Mens Metro 1 vs Mods (Drew 2 - 2) Best: T. Barrett, B. Joss, B. Rushton Goals: M. Read, K. Armitage A draw is better than a loss, but not as good as a win – Socrates 410B.C. (P.S. I think Matty's flick just landed.) Ladies Metro 1 vs CTP (Won 1 - 0) Best: S. Brockman, M. Margetts/D. Constable Goals: L. Forbes A hard fought physical game which remained scoreless until the second half. Congratulations Lynda on an awesome goal. We settled and managed to hold Pirates from scoring thanks to some magnificent goalkeeping by Paige! Well done girls!!

Mens Metro 2 Gold Best: C. Antonio, N. Emmett, J. Bocking Ahh a win!!! About bloody time! A well fought out game, so nice to get the points for a change. A great game by our young keeper Julian, who made some great saves and kept us in the game. Mens Metro 3 Black vs Vic Park (Won 3 - 0) Best: T. McEntee, R. Francis, J. Smales/D. Kidd Goals: T. McEntee (2), R. Francis Wow, who would have thought that our day would turn out the way it did as we collated our list of injuries before hand. Everyone put in their A game and it looked like a very different team out there, with all of our passes going mostly where they needed to go and some great shots on goals. It was a game where we made the most of the opportunities available on the field (including some shots which left many speechless) and we can be happy with the win! Special congrats to Ricky for scoring his first ever goal - we have never seen someone jump so high in excitement! Way to go Rick. VETERANS Mens Midweek Masters vs Vic Park (Drew 2 - 2) Best: J. Cooke, A. Etelaaho, D. Wilson Goals: J. Cooke (2) A great, tough, match against a quality opposition. A really enjoyable game.

Ladies Rae Blunt Pennant vs Wolves No report Ladies Masters Div 3 vs Wasps (Lost 0 - 1) Best: M. Margetts, L. Forbes, D. Smith Well we wondered if we would have a team but Lynda persisted and we had a spare. Thanks to Marie, Carolyn and Donelle. We were a bit disjointed to start but we settled and had some good chances. Bad luck girls. They got a lucky one. Come on girls, get fit, get together, let's win the rest. Mens Masters 40-1 vs NC Raiders (Lost 1 - 3) Best: M. Lyons, J. Cooke, G. Scally Goals: G. Templeman With so many players away because of school holidays this was always going to be a tough match, and so under the circumstances, wasn't as bad a result as it could have been. Blokes rallied in second half, and hopefully we can do enough in remaining matches to salvage something in our first season of Div 1s. Mens Masters 40-2 vs CTC Pirates (Lost 0 - 1) Best: J. Moncrieff, L. Bint, M. Currie An difficult start back from the bye this week. The core team was reduced in numbers due to holidays and injuries. An anxious start to the game as Wayne Hudson raced from the club rooms to fill the vacant goalie position. We ran out of excuses to delay the game and had to go on. Jim Moncrieff stepped up and with a borrowed helmet manned the goals. Immediately he stamped his mark on the game and save a goal on the line. Wayne arrive minutes later and was driven on to the field (literally) by Andy Reynolds to make sure no time was lost. The team settled and had most of the play in the first half. A lone shot by Pirates snuck in and it was 1-0 at half time. The second half saw us settle into some good play but just not able to convert a goal. Pirates could sense a win but Jim stopped two more goals on the line at full back to hold them off. Several good shots at goals in the second half could have seen us in front but it was not to be. A good effort by everyone and thanks to Andy C, Andy R, Wayne and Jim for helping us out.

Mens Masters 40-4 Best: I. Munns, B. Gibbins, T. Patton Goals: G. Kent Only 11 players and playing Riverside Lions was always going to be a tough game. A great goal diving in from right wing by Greg gave us the lead just before half time. The second half we just held on. Not pretty to watch but a nuggety and determined win against the only side that beat us in the first round.

Mens Masters 50-1 vs CT Pirates (Won 8 - 1) Best: K. Harper, H. Geers/P. Matthews, C. Howell Goals: K. Harper (4), A. Toogood (2), G. Hunt, P. Matthews Coming off a two week break we only had ten players to play so we had to borrow Andrew from the O40 Div 4's. How was this game going to go with so many players away, well we should have been singing "It's raining goals hallelujah, it's raining goals." From the start to the finish we kept on scoring. Great game and thanks to Andrew Toogood for filling in and getting us started with the scoring, we will have you back anytime. Mens Masters 50-2 vs Modernians (Drew 1 - 1) Best: B. Morrison, C. Avent, E. Nell Goals: R. Knyn Rob scored our only goal in the first few minutes of the game and we managed to defend for the remaining 68 minutes, only letting in one goal. A great effort against a tough opposition. Mens Masters 50-3 vs Blades (Won 2 - 0) Best: F. Williams/R. Preedy, J. Orr, L. Welten/A. Wood First up Congratulations to Dave Porter - 600 games and we finished with a win, well done. A good game played by all, even Matt the new DAD was quite today. We fought hard, tried hard, had plenty of shots on goal with minimal results, the team salutes the Blades goalie. Mens Masters 60 vs Mods (Lost 1 - 2) Best: J. Smith, T. Parker, G. Riley Goals: R. Domingo A special day, starting with a short celebration of Skinta's 600th game with the club. Congratulations Skinta, a great effort. Unfortunately, we couldn't continue the celebration, and came up slightly short in the tough match which followed, losing by a goal against one of our close rivals. Well fought out, but another sign of greater competition from the other teams trying to make the final four, as we move into the last part of the season.
