about us...

friends, family, and fur friends... Our family is spread throughout Iowa, Wisconsin, Illinois, and Missouri, so we have the opportunity to travel around the Midwest often. Kathryn has three older siblings and Tim has a younger sister. Our 11 nieces and nephews range in age from infants through young adults, and they're all looking forward to having a cousin to play with! We grew up in nurturing families with positive and caring values. Kathryn's hard -working mom still farms with Kathryn's brother; Tim's dad is a warm-hearted retired pastor and his mom is a retired nursery school teacher who can't wait to have another grandchild!

We enjoy spending time with our friends, some of whom have adopted and will be a great support to us and our child. Our clos-est friends, who live nearby, adopted two youth recently who are eager to babysit. Many of our friends are active in dog train-ing or church activities with us, and they're excited to welcome a child to our family.

love. We look forward to teaching our child the love we feel for all creatures.

In our spare time, we love to learn, and we've learned to enjoy the simple things in life. Tim's an avid cyclist and is looking forward to one day riding in Iowa's cross -state bike ride with our little one in tow. He also enjoys collecting ancient coins, reading, computers, and playing volleyball. His great musical ear will make him a super piano teacher for our child.

has fun teaching new tricks and agility exercises to the dogs. Other interests she'll share with our child include reading, jour -naling, meeting friends at co�ee shops, and going on walks.

We met twenty years ago in a campus minis-try when Tim was working at the church and Kathryn was actively involved there. We bonded during a 13-hour cookie-baking fundraiser, and we've been cooking together ever since! During our wedding, we gave a symbolic gift of home-baked bread to each person in attendance as a sign of our hospi-tality and our gratitude.

Now, after 18 years of marriage, we're excited to welcome children into our lives. Kathryn's a software engineer at a company just a few minutes from home and Tim works both as an assistant at a homeless shelter and as a freelance writer for churches. Having a child in our lives is a dream we eagerly await to come true. Tim intends to be a stay-at-home parent so we can best nurture and care for a child. We're also involved in an international adoption process in the hopes that the child we adopt will have a sibling.
