Irene revealed that her exposure to cakes and pastries selling actually started way back in her high school days when she enticed her classmates and friends to place their orders. Her love of baking was put into bigger business practice with the advent of online shops and marketing that do away with the need to rent a business space.

As with other new business endeavors, Irene admitted that there are risks associated with the business. There are instances that the company encountered some losses such as in transportation

and delivery, late appearance of clients that affected the delivery schedule to other clients, and unused ingredients that have short expiry periods.

As Irene muses to have physical stores and Shortcake Pastry Co. branches in the future, she advised other cake lovers to follow their passion and be happy like her.
