Students Conduct Cultural Landscape Analysis By Ms. Shelby Steward
Ms. Shelby Steward’s and Ms. Elena DiIorio’s AP Human Geogra-phy classes participated in a cultural landscape analysis of Third Ward. Students took field notes making ob-servations of the landscape to ex-plain how culture is infused in the ar-ea. They learned about gentrification, food deserts, and the history of the land and its importance to African Americans. Students interviewed residents and walked throughout the art installations within shotgun homes. The shotgun homes focused on social justice issues that affect the area. They will end up creating a vis-ual history of the area and deliver it to Project Row House as they cele-brate their 25th Anniversary.

Wolves Caught Doing the Right Thing!
During Thanks-giving Break, three Westside Wolves volun-teered their time with Boxes of Love. The girls helped the organi-zation pack over 2000 boxes with food for holiday meals for needy Houstonians. Pic-tured left to right, Laila Hansen, Lib-erty Nelson, and Autumn Johnson. Way to go, Wolves!
