Recall your favorite children's story, book, tale, fairy tale...

• Why do you like it?
• What lesson(s) does this story teach children?
• What are some memorable lines, events, characters, illustrations, etc.?
Who is your all time favorite children story character?
Why?

Brainstorm 3 questions kids ask or want to know the answers to. Consider both scientific, historic, and social phenomenon, such as why did dinosaurs become extinct? Who built the pyramids?
Brainstorm at least 3 things kids don't like to do and
imagine what kind of story you can tell to encourage,
persuade, or excite them to do it. Write a couple
sentences describing each.
List 5 (at least two should be talking animals, objects, or non
humans) in some children's stories, cartoons, or movies you
grew up with.• For each write down a few
words describing the qualities they possess.
• For example: Woody
brave, rational, empathetic leader
Pick an animal and put clothes on it.
• Describe the clothing in detail.
• Give the animal a symbolic name or one using alliteration.
Now place this animal in an unexpected
setting
• A specific location (city/country, place)
• A specific time (past decade/era/historical period, the present, or future)
Pick an object and put clothes on it.
• Describe the clothing in detail and give the object a name using alliteration.
EXAMPLE:
• Spongebob Squarepants
Now place this object in an unexpected setting
• A specific location (city/country, place)
• A specific time (past decade/era/historical period, the present, or future) EXAMPLE: Rock Bottom-
a deep sea trench located beneath Bikini Bottom.
Everything is pitch black except for a few street lights.
