Method-Distraction taskMethod-Distraction taskThis involved participants reading a succession of words displayed on a monitor placed on the dashboard (the position usually occupied by a car radio).

While driving, participants were instructed to read aloud as many words as possible without looking at the road for the period of the distraction task.
