The effect of height on the diameter of blood spatter evidence at a crime scene. The purpose of this lab is to explore the relationship between the diameter of a blood spatter drop to the height from which it fell. Blood spatter is used at crime scenes to help investigators to determine the cause of death and help to identify the weapon used in the crime and also know how and from which angle the victim was attacked. Hypothesis: If I drop blood from an increasing height, then the blood drop diameter will get smaller. Materials Used: -Pipet -2 meters -Blood or substance with similar characteristics (30mm should be enough) -1 ruler -White piece of paper Procedures: -First, put the piece of paper in the floor -One person holds one or the two meters pointing straight up on top of the paper (if using two meters, put one on top of the other). -With the blood or substance, fill the pipet

Hypothesis:If I drop blood from an increasing height, then the blood drop diameter will get smaller.

Materials Used:-Pipet -2 meters -Blood or substance with similar characteristics (30mm should be enough) -1 ruler -White piece of paper Procedures:-First, put the piece of paper in the floor-One person holds one or the two meters pointing straight up on top of the paper (if using two meters, put one on top of the other).-With the blood or substance, fill the pipet -Drop blood from the desired height with the pipet (make sure the drop of blood does not drop with air, if it does it the process won't work)-Once the drop hits the paper, use the ruler to measure the diameter of the drop and label the drop with the height from where it fell and diameter of drop.-Repeat the same process from different heights, minimum of 10 different heights.- Once finished at least 10 different heights, start filling data table. Data table

In this graph we can see the different heights from where the blood drops were dropped, we can also see a line that crosses in the middle of the drops, then is the pink line which is Anna’s drop diameter and height from which it fell.

Conclusion:The initial hypothesis is not correct because the higher from where the drops fall, the wider the diameter is.I've learned how to know from which height a blood drop fell and the process that is needed for doing it and graphing it.
