(& Abigail!)

Hello!

We can’t imagine what you must be feeling right now, as you sift through

profiles and try to choose the family that will raise your baby. We know

this isn’t an easy decision, and admire you for considering adoption and

putting your child’s needs ahead of your own. We are honored and

thankful that you are reading our profile and hope it gives you a glimpse

into our lives. We are praying for you as you make this decision.

We met our freshman year of college at Pepperdine University in Southern California. After spending our sophomore year studying in separate countries (Italy and Germany), we started dating our junior year and by the spring of our senior year we were engaged. We had a beautiful summer wedding in Montana. Twenty days later, Amanda started law school and Jonathan started a full time job at Pepperdine (and soon started a Masters program). We found that the demands of school and work strengthened our marriage, forcing us to have our priorities in order and teaching us to have balance in our lives.

During our first three years of marriage, we loved having time for the two of us, but we longed for children. There is nothing that we wanted (and want) more than to have a house full of lively little ones. From the time we started dating, we knew we would adopt one day, but we also thought we would have biological children. After two years of trying and an uncertain fertility diagnosis, we decided to begin growing our family through the miracle of adoption. In January 2012, our beautiful daughter, Abigail, joined our family through adoption. We have loved our adoption experience and have a great relationship with Abby’s birth family!

After adopting Abby, we found out that it would take a miracle for us to have biological children. Thankfully, we LOVE adoption and are excited to go through the process again!

We recently moved to beautiful Colorado, where Jonathan works in the wireless industry and Amanda stays home with Abby and does photography on the side. We are grateful to have a house of our own, with a wonderful backyard and love living in a family-friendly community.

Our Faith Our relationship with God is very important to each of us. It has given us strength in the hard times, wisdom in good times, and guidance at all times. We strive to honor God and pass on our values to our children.

Our families live in Montana, California, and Alabama. Amanda’s dad and step-mom own a dairy farm and her dad still wakes up at 3:30am to milk cows! Amanda’s mom and step-dad have a horse ranch, as do Jonathan’s dad and step-mom. Abby loves visiting the animals and helping her grandparents with “chores.” Jonathan has one sister and Amanda has three brothers. We are also blessed with an amazing niece and nephew. Our families love children and are excited to welcome another baby!

Amanda grew up in a small town in Montana on a dairy farm and horse ranch. Amanda loves small town life and the outdoors, but her dream of helping others took her to Southern California to pursue a law degree. After graduating in 2011, she worked at a pregnancy clinic, where she taught parenting classes and organized an adoption support group.

When we welcomed Abigail to our family, Amanda became a full-time stay-at-home mom. She still blogs about adoption, but loves having the time to devout to raising our growing family and to enjoy those precious moments that you can never get back! She also loves seeing the world through their eyes.

In her “free-time,” Amanda is a photographer and loves capturing memories to last a lifetime. She also loves to hike, play board games, and have people over!

As our kids get older, Amanda hopes to practice adoption law part-time, so that she can help build families like ours, while still having time to be a stay-at-home mom.

Jonathan is originally from Oakdale, a small town in California’s central valley and close to Yosemite National Park. He is the youngest of two children and comes from a loving, Christian family. Jonathan loves to learn and push himself, but he also loves the outdoors, staying active by hiking, biking, surfing, playing racquetball, tennis, soccer, and other sports. He also loves playing music, playing board games, and playing with Abby. Making her laugh is one of his favorite things in life! Jonathan strives to be a father who will teach, protect, and love his children.

Jonathan has a Bachelor’s of Science in business administration, a Master’s in Public Administration, and has his real estate license. He works for a company that builds cell phone towers, as a Site Development Specialist.

Jonathan also volunteers at our church, leading worship, and for the city, serving on the Board of Adjustment. In his free time, he loves to mentor young men, helping encourage the growth of strong communities and families.

Abby is 21 months old and an absolute joy! She loves to explore and hardly ever sits still. She loves other kids and has a fascination with babies. She is already playing “Mommy” with her baby dolls!

Abby’s favorite things are dogs, milk, dolls, stuffed animals, water (to play in), and the great outdoors! She is constantly dragging us to the door to go play or go for a walk. She especially loves visiting the family farm and ranch, where she can see so many animals! She is a wonderful, confident little girl and will be a great big sister.
