Content Title makes it easy for the readers to know what they are reading especially in the bright yellow font.

Sub line, the sub line is shortened information that the readers will want to see to gain extra knowledge on the story before actually reading the story.

Sub Headings make it easier for the reader to navigate around the page.

Editor Photo, the photo creates a connection between the editor and the readers.

Editorial, the editorial is the editors way of connecting with the readers, and also the readers way of finding out what the editor has chosen to include in the magazine, and why.

Page numbers, the numbers indicate where their desired information may be on one of the pages.

Main Image – This image denotes star appeal (Richard Dyer) . It makes the readers feel captivated when they see a star being on show that the readers can relate to.

Issue details inform the reader the date it was released and also when they can expect the next issue.

Pull Quote, the pull quote captures an important section of the main story on the double page spread and gives it to the reader to make them feel enticed.

The main image of the star (Star appeal Richard Dyer), in this DPS attracts the male audience with a sense of seductiveness from her red clothing as well as a seductive facial expression (Male gaze – Laura Mulvey - 1975).

Page Number/Web Address, the page number is important as it is a navigation for readers as well as being in the same font style promoting ‘brand identity’. The web address links to the social media side of the magazine company to gain a bigger following.

Drop Capital, this convention is simply for design purposes so that it appeals to the readers and looks appealing on the overall finished product.

Magazine Credits, these credits give gratitude to the workers who have made this NME DPS this appealing.

Stand First, the stand first summarizes the story in few words for the reader to understand the story better.

Contents Page ConclusionStar Appeal is a big repetition – Steve Neale, In rock magazines Fans idolize their fans buy seeing them lives and watching documentaries. By ‘repeating’ star Appeal in to my magazine I will capture my audience better and make more sales.

By keeping the actual contents around the artist makes the artist stand out to the readers. I want to ‘repeat’ (Steve Neale) this in my magazine as it fills the background and will make my contents page look more professional.

Making the artist the entire page shows power and it is what I intend to ‘repeat’. From my primary research I have found that star appeal helps to sell issues which is exactly what I will ‘repeat’.

Rock sound have not included any form of editorial in this contents page which I find strange as there are no customer friendly language aspects that Rock sound could have to build rapport with the readers.

DPS ConclusionThe main image is spread across both pages making the pages flow and link well. By doing this it gives the sense of importance of the band to the reader. I want to ‘repeat’ (Steve Neale) this as I believe it will add a great deal of importance to my magazine.

Another idea from Rock Sound that I wish to ‘repeat’Is by incorporating a bold pull quote from the artist. I will ‘repeat’ this as it will summarize the story for skim readers and make readers life's a lot easier.

For my magazine I would like to ‘repeat’ the stand first that Rock Sound uses. The reason behind repeating this is because it gives the reader a taste of the article before actually reading so they can be interested in reading the rest.
