Day 1: Thu, Jul 21: Houston - Rome
Depart USA for your overnight fl ight to Rome. Dinner and
breakfast will be served on board.
Day 2: Fri, Jul 22: Arrive Rome
Upon arrival your escort will warmly meet and greet you this
morning and welcome you to Italy. Transfer to your hotel and
enjoy a free afternoon for rest, relaxation, or exploration. You
tour escort can suggest sights or walks for you to enjoy.
Day 3: Sat, Jul 23: Rome - Vatican Rome
After breakfast we will have a full day sightseeing tour that will
show you all highlights of the Eternal City. Visit the Vatican
Museums with Sistine Chapel and St Peter’s Basil ica. See awe -
inspiring relics, and works of art donated throughout centuries
as tributes of faith. We'll cover The Tapestry Gallery, The Raph-
ael Rooms and the most overwhelming Sistine Chapel, Michel-
angelo's Masterpiece, restored mural of the Last Judgment.
Later, enter the largest church in Christendom, St Peter's Basil i-
ca, built on the site where St Peter was martyred. Unsurpassed
in beauty, a monument to the long history of the Catholic
Church, to which pilgrims come from around the world, St Pe-
ter's is the grandest of the world's churches. Marvel Pieta and
Bernini's amazing bronze canopy. Pope Francis visited the
tomb of St. Peter, following his elevation, for a visit of devotion
that lasted 45 minutes. He is the first Pontiff to visit the necrop-
olis since extensive archaeological excavations were conduct-
ed at the ancient site decades ago. We will also visit the tomb
of Pope John Paul II located at the Vatican. Continue on to
visit to Colosseum, Ancient Palatine Hill overlooking the Circus
Maximus and the Imperial Palace, and the Roman forum. Din-
ner and Overnight in Rome.
Day 4: Sun, Jul 24: Rome (Full day Christian Rome)
Following breakfast, we will depart for a sightseeing tour enti-
tled "Christian Rome" which includes: the Basil ica of St. Mary
Major, the most important and the oldest church dedicated to
Our Lady. St. Mary Major contains a rel ic from the manger of
the infant Jesus. Next, the Basil ica of St. John the Lateran, the
Pope’s cathedral church where relics of both Peter and Paul
remain under the main altar. It was here that Pope Francis was
formally installed one year ago as Bishop of Rome. Next we
cross the street to see the Holy Staircase which is bel ieved to
be a staircase from Pilate’s palace in Jerusalem and brought
to Rome by St. Helen in the 4th century. Time permitting we
may cl imb the steps on our knees in memory of Christ’s Pas-
sion. Stop for lunch, and then we will continue on to visit St
Paul. Outside the Walls, here we celebrate Mass. Continue our
tour via the Appian Way -- the oldest road from Roman times--
plus the famous Domino Quo Vadis Chapel; see the ancient
Baths of Caracalla, Arch of Drusus; Tomb of Celil ia Metella,
and the catacombs of St Callixtus where the early Christians
hid themselves to escape persecution. We will conclude the
day by visiting the famous, Trevi Fountain. Built in the 15th Cen-
tury to mark the ending destination of the Aqua Virgo (a
manmade channel erected in 19 B.C. to bring fresh water to
Roman bathhouses.) The water comes from the Salone Springs,
eight miles outside of the city. Legend has it, by tossing a coin
into the fountain, it will guarantee a return trip to Rome. Dinner
and overnight.
Day 5: Mon, Jul 25: Rome - Krakow
After breakfast, we’ll transfer to Rome Airport for departure to
Krakow and the World Youth Day festivities. You’ll arrive at
your accommodation where you will stay for the next seven
nights. Pending time of arrival, we may have an orientation
tour of Krakow. Dinner and Overnight.
Day 6: Tue, Jul 26: World Youth Day, Krakow
Czestochowa (Black Madonna) and Auschwitz return to Kra-
kow. *World Youth Day begins this evening with Mass
Day 7: Wed, Jul 27: World Youth Day, Krakow
This morning visit Salt Mines of Wiel iczka. This afternoon -
Catechesis sessions; WYD participants, organized by linguistic
groups, will have catechesis session with bishops from all over
the world. The sessions will take place in churches, schools,
auditoriums and sports centers of Krakow.*This afternoon and evening participate in organized World

Day 9: Fri, Jul 29: World Youth Day, Krakow

ters of Krakow. *This afternoon enjoy organized World Youth Day events and the Stations of the Cross
Day 10: Sat, Jul 30: World Youth Day - Pilgrimage Walk
This evening we participate in the Prayer Vigil with our Holy Father
Day 11: Sun, Jul 31: World Youth Day, Krakow
World Youth Day Mass of Sending; this morning the Pope will concele-
brate Mass with thousands of bishops and priests, and he will address
young people and those who are not so young, to send them out to the
world to witness to their faith, as the Lord did with his Apostles. After-
noon visit Wadowice or explore Krakow.
Day 12: Mon, Aug 1: Krakow – Prague
This morning we leave Krakow for Prague. We will bid farewell to our new
friends and to a World Youth Day experience. Its blessings will last a life-
time and its graces are certain to draw us closer to the Lord in our daily
l ife. Arrive Prague and transfer to your hotel. Dinner and overnight in
Prague.
Day 13: Tue, Aug 2: Prague
Built on seven hills more than 1000 years ago and spread over both
banks of the River Vltava, Prague is one of the most atractive cities in
Euorpe. Your city tour starts with a Panoramic drive to the famous Wen-
ceslas Square, the Strahov Stadium and the Castle Square. On our walk-
ing tour, we’ll visit the Royal Castle of Hradcany with the Cathedral of
St. Vitus, the Old Royal Palace, St. Georges Basil ica and Golden Lane
with Daliborka Tower. We’ll cross the Charles bridge and walk through
the Old Quarter of Prague and view the Jewish Ghetto, the Town Hall
and the world famous Astronomical Clock. Dinner and overnight at your
hotel.
Day 14: Wed, Aug 3: Prague – Altotting – Salzburg
We’ll depart Prague and travel on a scenic motorcoach ride to Altot-
ting, one of Germany’s most celebrated shrnes and a city whose p ur-
pose is pilgrimage. Upon arrival, we celebrate Mass at the center of the
pilgrimage complex, the Chapel of Mercy. While here we will visit the
Basil ica, the panorama of the Crucifizxion, the Pilgrim Museum, St. Kon-
rads Monastery, and more. We’ll continue to Salzburg for dinner and
overnight.
Day 15: Thu, Aug 4: Salzburg
Our full day of sighteeing begins with Mass at St. Peter’s Churchyard.
Salzburg is compact and best explored on foot. Narrow, winding lanes
and secluded passageways are evidence of its medieval roots. The Her-
itage of the Catholic Church is evident in the Archbishop’s Residence
and the decoration of the state rooms are available for viewing. We’ll
visit the mighty Romanesque Cathedral and the Fortress Hohensalzburg.
We’ll stop at Hellbrunn Palace to enjoy its gardens and hidden foun-
tains. Dinner and overnight in Salzburg.
Day 16: Fri, Aug 5: Salzburg – Vienna
We’ll transfer by motor coach to Vienna. You’ll be transferred to your
hotel, and there will be some time for you to browse this beautiful city
before dinner at a typical local Heurigen Restaurant. Overnight in Vien-
na.
Day 17: Sat, Aug 6: Vienna
After breakfast at your hotel, enjoy a sightseeing tour of Vienna. Visit the
Hofburg Palace, once the seat of the Austro-Hungarian Empire. View the
Belvedere Palace, Prater Amusement Park, the UN Buildings, St. Ste-
phen’s Cathedral, and other vivid reminders of this city’s Imperial histo-
ry. Dinner and overnight in Vienna
Day 18: Sun, Aug 7: Vienna - Houston
This morning we leave Vienna for our return fl ight(s) home with memories
of our l ifetime.
