COMPENSATION: Min: $48,397 to Mid: $60, 497

SUMMARY DESCRIPTION

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & JOB SPECIFICATIONS

A working background in/understanding of YMCA movement is strongly preferred. Successful candidate must have the physical, visual and auditory ability to perform the essential

functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodations. This position involves physical activity such as carrying, lifting up to 50 lbs. on occasion. This position must be able to lead groups through uneven terrain for a minimum of a five mile

hike.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

This position requires an undergraduate degree, preferably in Social Work, Psychology, Sports Management, Education or related field.

Able to advance through Keystone STARS with both education and career experience Must have or obtain YMCA Team Leader Certification within 3 years. Must have or obtain YMCA relevant core skills trainings and/or state prevention trainings

Major Gifts/Planned Giving DirectorSUMMARY DESCRIPTION

The Major Gifts/Planned Giving Director is responsible for seeking out donors and gifting opportunities and developing and implementing initiatives to identify, cultivate, solicit and steward major/planned gifts to ensure a strong base of ongoing financial support for the YMCA of Greater Pittsburgh. Reporting to the Chief Development Officer (CDO), the incumbent sets goals, monitors work and evaluates results to ensure that departmental and operating requirements are met and are in line with the needs and mission of the organization. The Major Gifts/Planned Giving Director also works with the District Vice Presidents, Branch Executives and senior volunteers to set Major Gifts/Planned Giving goals, policies and priorities. The incumbent will also assist Association leadership with the development of strategies and proposals and provide coaching with the goal of securing more major/planned gifts at the branch and district level.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & JOB SPECIFICATIONS

CFRE and/or Planned Giving certification is preferred. Demonstrated knowledge and success in the areas of major gifts and planned giving. Specialized knowledge related to planned giving and major gift fund-raising. Able to work effectively with

donors and professional advisors. Proven fund-raising, leadership and consensus building skills. Proven negotiation and mediation skills. Ability to listen is essential. Able to ask leading questions which encourage prospects and donors to talk

about themselves and their activities. Excellent writing skills including the ability to draft compelling proposals and/or cases for support,

correspondence, etc. Able to lead and motivate groups and individuals. Able to think creatively and strategically to successfully

mediate and negotiate with individuals and groups internally and externally Able to overcome obstacles to cooperation and foster harmonious relations. Able to balance competing priorities, complex situations and tight deadlines.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

University graduate (undergraduate degree) in a related field. Individual must possess a minimum of 3-5 years major gift/planned giving fundraising experience including

five + years in a complex not-for-profit organization involving a significant number of people and organizations with diverse and varied interests and backgrounds.

Valid driver’s license and personal car.

COMPENSATION: This is a salaried position, commensurate with experience

SUMMARY DESCRIPTION: Under the supervision of the Membership Coordinator I or Director, the Membership Navigator is responsible for membership sales and retention through proactive engagement of future and current members.

Sales:

Provides excellent service to members, guests, and program participants in the Y and on the phone, contributing to membership sales and retention.

Delivers member focused tours and meets tour closure and sales goals. Generates additional sales on fee based services and programs (i.e. personal training, youth sports, swim

lessons, locker services, etc.). Meet “I Give” campaign goal, through donor engagement. Develop and manage prospect list, and proactively follows up on leads. Other duties as assigned.

Retention:

Ability to proactively manage and build relationships with an assigned number of membership units (numbers vary by branch).

Proactively engages members in activities and programs based on their particular interests, through strong knowledge of YMCA programs, policies, and procedures.

Ensures the quality of service for members is seamless and membership updates are communicated to members effectively.

Handles and resolves membership concerns and performs exit interviews on all terminating units. Works with department heads to help facilitate member engagement in programs. Other duties as assigned.

SUMMARY DESCRIPTION

Under the direction of the head coach, and in accordance with the policies of the Baierl Family YMCA and the YMCA of Greater Pittsburgh the Assistant Coach will be responsible for planning and administrating practice for assigned training groups, and overseeing team members. SUMMARY DESCRIPTION

The Homewood Brushton YMCA is currently seeking experienced teaching artists to lead engaging media & visual arts projects with high school teens as part of our YMCA Lighthouse Project. The YMCA Lighthouse Project is an afterschool program for teens that seeks to empower young people through an integration of project-based digital arts instruction, leadership development and academic support.

Teaching artists are responsible for developing and refining project lesson plans, facilitating goal-oriented project-based classes and preparing students for end of session performances and presentations. Teaching artists are expected to be responsive to students’ creative interests and implement positive youth development strategies into lesson plans and projects. Teaching artists are expected to attend quarterly staff meetings, community events and fundraisers.

Under the supervision of the Membership Director, the Membership Service Representative will be responsible for the coordination and implementation of excellent service to members, guests, and program participants. This person will also be responsible for member engagement with one another and the Y, and will implement all front desk procedures and be the liaison between the full time staff and the welcome center staff. This person must also be able to tell the YMCA story in a compelling way that influences others to donate both time and resources to support the YMCA mission and strategy. Staff must be able to articulate how the YMCA is a charitable organization.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS

The membership Sales Service Representative will be required to work some weekdays, some weeknights, and some weekends. Flexibility is essential to this position.

Excellent interpersonal and problem solving skills. Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community.

Excellent personal computer skills and experience with standard business software. Knowledge of computers and Microsoft programs required, Daxko experience preferred.
