J ohn Sisk & Son’s revenue of €950m for 2017 sees it once again hold the premier position in the Construction Top 50 CIF Contractors list. In 2017, its Irish operations accounted for €700m of that turnover, with UK business accounting for €250m. e main contractor’s pipeline of work in 2018 is robust with the company expecting to exceed the €1bn turnover mark. A company spokesperson says it has been “very selective” in the projects it is choosing, avoiding problematic, loss-making projects. PROJECTS Sisk’s Civil Engineering division completed several substantial projects during 2017, which included the Luas Cross City extension in Dublin and a wastewater treatment plant in Cork. e €70m redevelopment of Páirc Uí Chaoimh in Cork was also a landmark 2017 project for the company. Its pipeline of projects in 2018 includes a contract to build 470 lodges and 30 apartments at the Center Parcs Longford Forest Resort, as well as the holiday village’s central building, which consists of a swimming pool, bars, restaurants and shops. Other significant projects underway this year include the 56,000 sq m Capital Dock mixed-use development for Kennedy Wilson at the heart of Dublin’s south docks and the Bon Secours Hospital in Cork.
