The season of Lent is almost here. Next Wednesday is Ash
Wednesday and it is the begin-ning of a season that challenges us
to examine our lives of faith. One thing I like about being a part
of PC(USA) is the resources that they offer, especially for special
seasons. This link will take you to an explanation of Lent and it
also has resources for readings during Lent, special services, and
prayers.
http://www.presbyterianmission.org/ministries/worship/christianyear/worship-resources-lent/.
What is also great about these resources is that they are sometimes
just the spark that you need for ideas to use in your own walk of
faith. I encourage you to look at some of the resources and others
available from your church or online and take advantage of the
opportunity to grow closer to God.
Have a great week and hope to see you Saturday at the Presbytery
meeting in Mt. Vernon.

Presenter - Reverend Rodney Peters
This workshop, which is the first of three, will examine four
areas of congregational life: pastoral leadership, activities,
mission, and resources. You will be challenged to think about the
church in new ways. There will be time for personal reflection,
sharing, and fellowship. Together, we will consider shutting off
the church and starting over from the beginning (re-booting). Bring
your spiritual strength and im-agination. This is a free event,
however, we do need you to register so we will know how many people
to expect for lunch.
Please send your reservations to Gail Wilson at
[email protected].
