Theme: This novel is totally based on
Language movement. Mother tongue is so important
that the people of a country express their ideas, thoughts, feelings emotions etc clearly through mother tongue. But in 1952 it is an irony of fate that the then rulers of Pakistan tried to impose Urdu as the state language upon us instead of Bangla. But the people of our country raised their voice against the unlawful decision.
Theme:
Some of the heroic sons came forward and sacrificed their glorious life for the cause of our mother tongue on the 21st February 1952. Their was only one demand that is “Rastro Vasha Bangla Chai”. Rafique, Jabbar, Salam, Barkat were shot. Since then this day is called the Shaheed Dibash. Every year we remember this day with solemnity and pay them profound tribute. We are proud of the martyrs for lying down their lives

Conclusion: Bengali is our national
spirit. We speak in Bengali. We sacrificed countless lives to get bangla as our mother tongue. Every year on 21st February we remember the martyrs with wide variety of activities around the day who sacrificed their lives. We are bearing the importance of language movement in 21st century too.
Conclusion: The author focused the
importance of language movement in his writing. Specially the author focused the importance of students participation in the language movement. Language martyrs are our national heroes. So we should respect them.
Now it is great pleasure for us that this day has got international reorganization in 1999 by UNESCO. Now this day is observed all over the world as international mother language day. So it is a matter of great glory and prestige for us.
