Programming a) To carry out activity analysis and report these findings to the Area / Centre Manager including sessions and courses. b) To liaise with the Head of Children’s Activities and Courses and Head of Customer Services regarding usage figures and suggestions for programming of new activities. c) To liaise with the Marketing team regarding new activities and promotions including the display of information on site. d) To help re-program activities when special events take place. e) To produce monthly attendance figures In relation to Main Aim C a) To develop, empower and motivate staff to deliver the highest possible quality service to the customer. b) To ensure your team actively embraces change and identifies opportunities. c) To ensure all staff understand Circadian Trust’s mission statement, aims and objectives and where they fit in with this. d) Assist the Operations Manager in maintaining and encouraging a communication policy that empowers your team so they feel able to positively contribute to improving the service. e) Maintain effective records of staff meetings. Duties may change Job Title: Assistant Manager Reports To: Leisure Centre Manager Responsible For: All staff within the site whilst on duty 1. JOB PURPOSE AND MAIN AIMS a) To be directly responsible for the day-to-day operation of the facility. To ensure efficient and effective utilisation of all resources, excellent delivery of customer service and security of the facility. b) To be responsible for one of the following corporate areas; Facilities Management, Staffing, Health & Safety, or Programming. (At Longwell Green and Thornbury one Assistant Manager will be responsible for both Health and Safety and Facilities Management) c) To be a pro-active member of the Centre’s Operations Management Team and provide the lead in developing the leisure team to support Circadian Trust’s management philosophy. 2. SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES In Relation To Main Aim A a) To ensure the adequate level of staffing on shift in order to meet customers expectations and deliver a quality service. b) Ensure the daily maintenance of all plant and equipment is complete particularly controlling the pool environment and for taking appropriate action in the event of emergencies and e) Ensure employees are trained in the methods of operation and systems of work in the facility including induction of new employees. f) To ensure public order in the facility taking action to minimise vandalism and anti social behaviour and for the general security of the facility including responding to emergency call-outs as the nominated key holder. g) Accountable for collating and accounting for all fees, charges and income, including arrangements for cash security and for banking of cash in accordance with financial regulations. h) In accordance with the financial regulations to have the authority to purchase and to monitor expenditure budgets. i) To ensure the highest standards of cleanliness in all areas by effective management of staff and resources at all times. j) Liaison on a regular basis with the Operations Manager on all matters relating to the operation, service and promotion of the facility and to attend meetings and prepare reports as necessary. In Relation to Main Aim B Facilities Management a) To be responsible for and to monitor the cleanliness of the facility both internal and external to include car park checks. b) Ensure effective systems in place for cleaning stock control and to be responsible for ordering cleaning materials and chemicals. c) Accountable for ensuring all defects are reported and actioned in order to meet customer expectations. d) Accountable for the monitoring of environmental conditions and ensuring that documented systems addressing environmental issues are in place and records are maintained. e) To co-ordinate checks of pool plant and technical operations and take the lead in plant operation training. f) Responsibility for the operation of the Building Management System. Health and Safety a) Responsibility for the development, monitoring and review of safe systems of work including carrying out, monitoring and reviewing risk assessments. b) Responsibility to ensure COSHH, RIDDOR, First Aid and accident/incident procedures are in place and adhered to. c) Responsibility for ensuring the correct manual handling techniques are adhered to and that health and safety requirements are met for events. d) To monitor and check sports equipment, emergency lighting, fire extinguishers & fire exits and to responsible for co-ordinating soft play checks (if applicable). e) To ensure all alarm testing is carried out regularly and staff are fully trained on procedures. f) To have overall responsibility for co-ordinating work experience. g) To co-ordinate NPLQ Training. Staffing a) Responsibility for rotas, the monitoring of annual leave and reporting of sickness to include
