• Clues in the lifestyle and religious observances of Job points to a time period between Abraham and Moses.
• There was no mention of a draught, he may have lived before Joseph.
What kind of man was Job?
From the lesson:• Feared God (Job 1:1)

• He walked in the Lord's path and esteemed the Lord's words (Job 23:10-12)
• He was compassionate with the widow, the poor, the lame and the blind (Job 29:12-16)

Job's Trials• Servants & Livestock (wealth) taken (Job 1:13-17)

• Cruel accusations and loss of friends (Job 2:9; 4:1, 7-8; 11:1-6; 19:13-22)
• Confusion as to why he was asked to experience these trials (Job 10:15)
• Mockery from those who delighted in his downfall (Job 16:10-11; 30:1, 8-10)
• Feeling forsaken and unheard by God (Job 19: 6-8; 23: 3-4)
How does Job's trials compare with ours
today?
Job's friends believed his trials were a punishment
for sin. What is the danger in this belief?
Read Job 1:22. How do some people charge God
foolishly?
Read Job 13:13-16. What does it mean to trust in
The Lord?
How do we develop that trust?
• Romans 8:28
• 2 Nephi 2:2, 11, 24
• D&C 58:2-4
• D&C 122:5-9
Read Job 42: 10-17
• After enduring the trials, how is Job blessed by The Lord?
