“The more we plant, The longer we live”

Brief: 1. Choose an article or fact 2. Analyse and select the content and visualise them 3. Design a poster based on your assigned specific kind of visualisation and the categories on the degree of truth you have to respect.

An instruction manual of a sound fact, “A single mature tree can absorb carbon dioxide at a rate of 22 kgs./year and release enough oxygen back into the atmosphere to support 2 human beings”. This instruction manual challenges and encourages audience to plant more trees. The more they lift up trees, the more kilograms of Co2 is being reduced.

The characters in the movies are so diverse (Gypsy, Black, European, and etc.) which thier languages and accents are not easy to understand. I begun to notice that my reaction when watching it without subtitles for the first time was very interesting and different when subtitles are on. Therefore I setted up my own system to interpret the relationships of my reactions and the characters reactions from the whole movie. I got inspired by parametric architecture, but instead of coding, I used shapes, forms, and lines. I found out that the rythm of dialogues and jokes are very well-planned with a great structured story.

The lost of a powerful country like United States of America through this tragic 9/11 incidence raised me questions like, is it because of the country itself is too opened? and Josh Bush is the one to blame? Whom did responsibilities go to?

The reason I asked myself those questions is because Max bill’s work involve in a lot of political and social connection. His work are characterised by mathemati-cal thinking method and geometric shapes. He is also against the use of nuclear power. Therefore I chose to communicate ‘four coordinated suicide attacks’ by se-quencing the attacks in order of geometric shapes (from octagon to square), and identified each city in its flag’s colours.

1st attack = U.S.A The octagon represents eight years that Bush served as the president. Eight tips act like gateways of free- dom and openness of the country

2nd attack = New York City3rd attack = Arlington, Virginia4th attack = Shankville, Pennsylvania

Black square = Lost from the attacksWhite circle = Feeling of safety and protection that is needed (circle has no gateway)

Who you are and Where are you?

Brief: Interpret a given sound and design a poster for any events for STAPLES center.

After listened to a sound given, it reminded me of BON JOVI’s music in a large full of energetic people in a stadium. This poster is to promote their soft ROCK concert for people with heart disease. I chose a photograph of them walking to show a softer look of BON JOVI. Looking calm and chill but still very cool. I also emphasised the U, to create a relationship between U and US so that the audience especially the weak hearted would feel welcomed.

“Disturb” is my selected word. I tried to compose a nearly perfect composition yet got disturbed by some off or out of place elements in each frame.
