Roundup Ready Technology
• Over 1,200,000 cotton acres planted in LA in last two years.
• 99 % Transgenic cotton in 2006
• Mostly Roundup Ready varieties for weed control
Roundup Ready Technology
• Eliminate applications and tillage operations
• Easy application trigger
• Broad spectrum of control
• Tank-mix partners
• Flex introduction(variety and herbicide)
Justification
• -Synergies or negative interactions between this new herbicide and other agrochemicals, growth regulators and insecticide, and on integrated pest and crop management strategies
Objectives
• -Investigate effects of insecticides and plant growth regulators when co-applied with MON 3539 (Roundup Herbicide) on Roundup Ready Flex cotton.
• -Determine if possible effects are influenced by cotton growth stage at time of application.

Conclusion
-When applied according to labeled rates in Roundup Ready Flex cotton varieties ®, Roundup Flex herbicide® co-applications can offer producers the ability to integrate pest and crop management strategies and reduce application costs with minimal effect on crop.
