SAP’s Hopenhagen Commitment

As a global business leader committed to a enabling a sustainable

future for the world, SAP supports Hopenhagen’s efforts to drive action

on climate changeMotivating Citizens: Hopenhagen is a global movement that encourages citizens to actively participate in the climate change dialogue and make their voices heard to world leaders and COP 15 conference delegates. People around the world are urged to sign the UN’s “Climate Change” petition at Hopenhagen.org, which calls for a climate treaty that is “ambitious, fair and effective in reducing emissions.”

SAP’s Commitment to Reducing its Carbon Footprint: As a key part of SAP’s efforts to demonstrate sustainability leadership, we have set an aggressive carbon reduction target to reduce our footprint by 50% (based on year-2007 emissions level) by 2020. Leveraging SAP solutions to drive transparency into our operations, we can publicly report achievements toward our target and, in doing so, increase accountability to our stakeholders. The success of this effort is based on the personal commitment of CEO Leo Apotheker as well as employees worldwide.

Engaging Business: Companies must take an active role in addressing climate change by collaborating on a solution to the problem and developing conditions that support innovation in order to create global prosperity. COP15 is a singular moment of opportunity, where bold action will lead to a better future for all.

SAP’s Impact: Given that our 89,000 customers emit 1 / 6th of man-made global emissions, SAP has a unique opportunity to impact climate change worldwide and significantly accelerate the path of world economies toward sustainability. We are working with industry leaders, NGOs, customers and partners to deliver solutions today that help companies measure, manage and reduce emissions, while ensuring profitability.

Call to Action: As individuals we have the power to chose the type of world we want to live in. Governments and corporations cannot act alone. By becoming a citizen of Hopenhagen and signing the petition, people of the world are calling upon leaders at COP 15 to address the climate crisis that is facing us all today.

SAP Carbon-Reductionwww.sap.com/about/sustainability

SAP Commitment 51% reduction from 2007 levels of 513,000 tons CO2 by 2020 SAP Performance Reduced emissions by 6.75% during CY 2008

SAP Abatement Efforts Aggressively reduce:

company car fuel consumption office printing/paper usage high-definition video conferencing to decrease air travel

Purchase renewable energy Consolidation and virtualization in SAP's data centers (e.g.,

arrange servers in designated "high-density areas" to reduce air conditioning)

Increase virtual event infrastructures for large internal and external events (e.g., three virtual SAP events with a total of over 22,000 attendees)

Achieve Silver Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certification as a minimum requirement for SAP buildings; new US headquarters is Platinum LEED certified
