BACK INJURY

SLIPS, TRIPS AND FALLS DUE TO SLIPPERY SURFACE, OBSTRUCTIONS AND RESTRICTED ACCESS

USE ADEQUATE PPE AS REQUIRED.

ENSURE STRONG GRIPPING DURING MANUAL HANDLING.

KEEP THE LOAD AS CLOSE TO BODY AS POSSIBLE.

MOVE FEET RATHER THAN TWISTING BACK DURING MANUAL HANDLING.

BEND KNEES AND NOT BACK DURING MANUAL HANDLING / LIFTING

AVOID MANUAL LIFTING WEIGHTS. WHERE POSSIBLE USE MANUAL HANDLING AIDS, TROLLEYS & WHEEL BARROWS ETC.

CHECK GROUND CONDITIONS AND TAKE ACTION TO MAKE IT RIGHT.

REMOVE ALL OBSTRUCTIONS AND MAINTAIN GOOD HOUSEKEEPING

DUE CARE AND ATTENTION TO BE TAKEN FOR RESTRICTED ACCESS

LOOK AHEAD AND NOT DOWN AT THE LOAD ONCE IT HAS BEEN HELD SECURELY.

2.ERECTION OF SCAFFOLDING INJURY / DAMAGE AS A RESULT OF DROPPING TOOLS AND SCAFFOLD COMPONENTS

USE APPROPRIATE BARRICADES TO PROTECT PERSONNEL.

KEEP TOOLS IN TOOL BAG OR BASKETS SECURED PROPERLY.

ALL COMPONENTS TO BE CHECKED PRIOR TO INSTALLATION.

PROVIDE APPROVED SCAFFOLDING DESIGN AND GOOD CONDITION SCAFFOLD COMPONENTS.

AVOID BROKEN, BENT AND EXCESSIVELY RUSTED OR DAMAGED FRAMES / ACCESSORIES.

ENSURE PROPER BRACING AND FASTENING OF SCAFFOLDING COMPONENTS.

NO OVERLOADING OF SCAFFOLDING OR NO PLACEMENT OF HEAVY EQUIPMENT IN THE SCAFFOLING.

SCAFFOLD MUST BE ERECTED BY TRAINED / EXPERIENCED PERSONNEL UNDER THE DIRECTION OF COMPETENT SUPERVISOR.

SCAFFOLD SHALL BE ERECTED ON A PLAIN LEVEL SURFACE AND SECURED TO PERMANANET STRUCTURES. ADDITIONAL PLATES SHALL BE PROVIDED TO SCAFFOLDING BASE WHEN ERECTING ON SOFT GROUND.

SCAFFOLD SHALL BE INSPECTED BY A COMPETENT PERSON AND SCAFF TAG SYSTEM SHALL BE FOLLOWED.

SUFFICIENT ACCESS / EGRESS SHALL BE PROVIDED CONSIDERING EMERGENCY SITUATION.

USE SAFETY HARNESS AND LANYARD ANCHORED TO SECURE POINT WHEN WORKING ABOVE 2.0 METERS HEIGHT.

ACCESS / LADDERS, GUARD RAIL SYSTEM AND TOE BOARD MUST BE SECURELY FIXED.

3.WORKING AT HEIGHT FALL OF MATERIAL FROM HEIGHT

FALL OF PERSON FROM HEIGHT

TOOLS AND OTHER ARTICLES AND MATERIALS SHALL BE PROPERLY LOWERED AND SHALL NOT BE THROWN DOWN FROM HEIGHT. THEY SHALL BE LOWERED / RAISED BY ROPE.

SITE SUPERVISOR AND WORKERS SHALL ENSURE THAT NO LOOSE ARTICLES AND MATERIALS ARE LYING ON THE SACFOLD FROM WHERE THEY MAY FALL ON PERSONS WORKING BELOW.

BARICADAE THE AREA BELOW THE SCAFFOLD SO THAT WORKERS DO NOT MOVE INTO THE AREA.

PPES – HARD HATS & SAFETY SHOES SHALL BE USED BY THE WORKERS WORKING BELOW

SCAFFOLDING SHALL BE CLOSED BOARD AND HAVE TOE BOARDS AND GUARDRAILS.

PERSONNEL SHALL NOT WORK OUTSIDE BARRIERS OF THE SCAFFOLD UNLESS SUITABLE MEANS OF FALL PROTECTION - FULL BODY HARNESS IS PROVIDED.

UN AUTHORISED PERSONNEL SHALL NOT BE ALLOWED TO USE THE SCAFFOLD.

PPES SHALL BE USED.

TRAINED & COMPETENT OPERATOR & RIGGER SHALL BE USED.

INSPECT THE AREA PRIOR TO POSITIONING CRANE.

USE WOODEN SKIDS IF REQUIRED TO MAINTAIN STABILITY.

ENSURE SAFE WORKING DISTANCE IS MAINTAINED DURING CRANE OPERATION.

TRAINED & COMPETENT OPERATOR & RIGGER SHALL OPERATE & SLING THE LOAD TO CRANE HOOK.

ENSURE SAFE WORKING LOAD OF THE CRANE.

LOAD CHART SHOULD BE CLEARLY VISIBLE TO THE OPERATOR / RIGGER.

CALIBRATED SWL INDICATOR & CRANE CAPACITY CHART IS AVAILABLE.

ENSURE THAT THE WEIGHT TO BE LIFTED IS WITHIN THE SAFE WORKING LOAD OF THE SLING. LIFTING TACKLES SHALL BE CORRECTLY RATED.

USE APPROVED & CERTIFIED LIFTING GEARS.

INSPECT SLIGS FOR CUTS AND DAMAGES BEFORE USING.

CRANE HOOK IS IN CENTRAL POSITION OVER THE LOAD.

HOOK SHALL NOT BE OVER CROWDED / LOADED

ENSURE THAT THE SLINGS ARE OF SAME LENGTH

CONDITION OF HOSES SHALL BE MONITORED REGULARLY

HOT TABS SHALL NOT BE THROWN BUT COLLECTED IN TIN CANS.

USE PROPER CABLE CONNECTOR FOR EXTENSION.

WHERE CABLES ARE CROSSING THE WALKING AREA THEN ENSURE PROPER PROTECTION.

WELDER & HELPERS MUST WEAR WELDING GOGGLES

8.USE OF EQUIPMENTS – CRANES, GENERATORS ETC
