Best part of being a Rampant (What made your experience at Rose memorable?): As a student it was the great friends that are still friends today. We still get a chance to hang out together and share memories. As a coach and former teacher, it is the great students we helped over the years, in the classroom and through athletics.
Advice for current Rose students:
Take advantage of what Rose has to offer including the teachers, courses, and situations. I recently had the opportunity to talk to a previous student that shared “Rose High prepared me”. The opportunities at Rose allow you to get a great start on life.
Share a memorable or unique experience you’ve had since graduating from Rose. All the wins and losses including all the practicing that goes into.

Academic Boosters: Bu$ine$$ News
JHR Academic Boosters is pleased to introduce you to Mr. Daniel Niece, our featured grant recipient this month. Though Mr. Niece is new to Rose this year, he is no stranger to the classroom. He has taught both elementary and middle school students, most recently at EB Aycock Middle School where he was an admired TDI and Visual Arts teacher. Having built relationships with students at EBA through the years, he was excited to teach them once more at Rose and help “take their knowledge and skills to the next level.” Mr. Niece has a love for all things 3-D and feels his passion for this (and art in general) will help strengthen the Visual Arts program at Rose. Academic Boosters was impressed by his innovative ideas as well as his commitment to his students and his desire to make current technology and resources accessible to all. We have granted Mr. Niece a 3-D printer and necessary supplies. He has many exciting projects in the works for this new printer. Specifically, he plans to use the printer for a highly interest driven experience called “what bugs you?” In this activity, students will identify certain problems/obstacles in their lives and investigate ways to solve those problems by inventing a device to address the need. After using pencil and paper, Google SketchUp, and SculptGL, students will use the 3-D printer to bring their ideas to life. The 3-D printer brings a real world element to learning which will allow a hands-on experience as students test prototypes and create final products. By granting this request, students will learn how to use CAD programs; how to scale prototypes; how to use human design to create products; how to translate digital designs into sculptures; how to measure using the metric system; how to choose the correct material for a project, and much much more! Mr. Niece believes every student is capable of being an individual of “unquenchable curiosity“ and “feverishly inventive imagination.” The addition of this 3-D printer will help Mr. Niece foster this curiosity and imagination and his students.
You must re-link each school year. The $$ goes directly to Rose
classrooms and programs! Grandparents, aunts, uncles and
friends can also link their VIC card to Rose!
VIC cards must be linked in Greenville, but Rose gets cash from shopping at any Harris Teeter with a VIC card linked to Rose!
