JFB PTO at Work for OUR Kids!

This is why we raise funds!Here are two wonderful programs offered to our kids this week:

October 14, 2014:Bacchanal World of Pan; Cincinnati

Arts Association(all grades) The children got ready to

mambo as Brian Malone, Bacchanal Steel Band

founder, gave a solo performance with his steel drum.

From calypso to classical, Malone shared the history

of the steel drum and the intricacies of its

construction. He even provided the percussion for an

interactive finale!

isnt just for the big kids anymore! This Friday, students will

learn fun ways of discovering how the scientific process can help

answer their questions!

Box Tops for Education

Clip and save Box Tops for Education to help earn rewards for JF Burns!

Every Box Top that you send in is worth 10 cents for the school AND counts

towards your childs classroom tally. The classroom with the highest number

of Box Tops collected will receive a special reward! A collection sheet was

sent home in Friday folders last month, and you can print additional sheetsat the end of this newsletter. Visitjfb-pto.org/Rewardsor contactPaula

Staff Appreciation

A huge THANK YOU to everyone who signed up to provide food for teachers on the three conference

nights. Last weeks tailgate-themed dinner was a huge success, and this and next weeks dinners

promise to be just as wonderful. Several teachers have asked us to pass on how much they appreciatenot having to worry about scrambling to find food before meeting with everyone for conferences!

Fall Parties

This is just a friendly reminder that the $3 donations for

Fall and Winter class parties are due by this Friday,

October 17th.Please just send the money in an envelope

with your child's name on it and the teachers will pass it

on to the Room Parents.

There will be a shuttle running from Landen Kroger

parking lot for our Fall parties scheduled for Friday,

October 31st.The shuttle will run from 1:30-2:15 p.m.

and will return after the parties at 3:00 p.m.

All parents attending the party other than the room parents and

families needing handicapped parking will need to ride the shuttle.

Room parents will be receiving a parking pass for the JFB parking lot. Please have it visible for

the parking attendant upon arriving at the school parking lot. Room parents in charge of the

parties may begin setting up at 2:00 p.m. in the classrooms and the parties are scheduled from

2:15-3:00 p.m. Parents are welcome to leave with their children at 3:00 p.m. and ride the

shuttle back to the Landen Kroger parking lot. We hope to see you there!

Birthday Books

The October Birthday Books celebration is this Friday, 10/18. Permission forms

were sent home last week and were due back yesterday. If you have questions

regarding the Birthday Books program, please contactErin Bidwell.
