History of Jet Engine andHow to work a Jet Engine

The first principle of jet propulsion was published by the using of steam power

Frank Whittle designed it again

only for aircraft propulsion

And also he patented the first design of his reaction motor

History of Jet Engine andHow to work a Jet Engine

Every kind of jet engines work with the same principle

Jet engines move the airplane forward with a great force that is produced by a tremendous thrust and causes the plane to fly very fast.

Types of Jet Engine

1) Turbine Powered a) Turbojet b) Turbofan

2) Ram Powered a) Ramjet b) Scramjet

Page 6: Jet engine

1) Turbine Powered

a) Turbojet

The oldest jet engine Supersonic velocity Used as all areas of millitary fighters

Page 7: Jet engine

1) Turbine Powered

b) Turbofan İs a turbojet Larger fan More useful than turbojets at supersonic velocity on large aircrafts

Page 8: Jet engine

2) Rampowered

a) Ramjet

Like a Turbojet No rotating parts the air is compressed to burn İnditially, to accelerate is necessary by the propulsion on missiles

Page 9: Jet engine

2) Rampowered

b) Scramjet While it moves at supersonic velocity, the combustion happens with air it is not avible to work well 18000mph Not ready to use it

Parts of Jet Engine

1) Fan is a first part Rampowered is without it sucks the air and propel to the

inside of engine.

2) Compressor allocates the pressure into

smaller areas with many blades increases the potential energy of

the air which goes up into fuel burner.

3) Fuel Burner ignites the fuel with the air generates a high temprature and high

energy airflow That’s heat almost happens at 2700 °

4) Turbine The combustor’s high-energy airflow

goes into the turbine and rotates the turbine blades

This rotation takes some energy from the high-energy flow that is used to drive the fan and the compressor

5) Nozzle exhaust duct which is at the back of

the jet engine force propulsion
