Jessica’s Underwater
Adventure

March 2013
Once upon a time there was a beautiful little girl who lived in a gigantic mansion.
Her name was Jessica. She was not an ordinary girl. She could fly and become
invisible as much as she pleased. Jessica also had a pet hamster named Crystal
who had little white wings on its back and could talk. During weekends Jessica
played at home with Crystal and flew around in her flower-filled garden.
1
One Saturday morning, Jessica decided to go to a beach nearby with Crystal.
Suddenly they saw something swimming very quickly towards them.
SPLASH! A creature that was half human
and half fish appeared right before them. Jessica
and Crystal both jumped back in fear.
“Who...are you?” Crystal stuttered.
“There is nothing to fear. I am Qika the
Mermaid Queen. We need your help to save the
dolphins. They are locked up in an underwater
castle far north, captured by the evil water
dragon.”
Without waiting for any reply, the
Mermaid Queen quickly disappeared and left
trails of bubbles.
2
“Alright then, let’s go save the dolphins Crystal. We’ll go call Leila the Princess of
the Sky to help us out.”
Crystal just nodded and they flew towards the clouds, where her friend
Leila was in her Candy Castle.
When Leila and Crystal arrived at the castle and explained the mission to
Leila, Leila sighed and said, “Well then, what are we waiting for? Let’s go!”
Jessica and her friends soared through the sky over the vast ocean, heading
north.
3
After a while, the group saw Qika the Queen Mermaid on the surface of the
sea. They flew down towards her with a big WHOOSH.
The mermaid said, “It is nice to see you again, young ones.”
Qika muttered a spell. Soon shiny water droplets surrounded them. Jessica
and Leila turned into beautiful mermaids. Crystal, on the other hand, became a
dolphin.
“Good luck, Jessica, Crystal, and Leila. We hope that you can save the
captured dolphins and restore peace to our land,” Qika said. The beautiful
mermaid then slowly disappeared.
With confidence, the group swam on.
4
As the group moved on, they heard peaceful music coming from their far
left. The mermaids and the dolphin swam towards the music.
They noticed a clearing filled with speakers, cushions, and shelves of books.
It looked like a very relaxing place. Jessica and Leila laid down comfortably on the
cushions reading Roald Dahl’s books. Crystal felt uneasy.
“Weren’t we supposed to carry out a mission?” Crystal shouted.
At first the girls didn’t understand. But then they realized that they had
forgotten about the mission. “We forgot about the dolphins!” Leila exclaimed.
The group swam back to where they left off.
5
The group soon faced a big whirlpool that blocked their way.
“Let me use my magic,” Leila stepped forward. She pointed at the
whirlpool and a blue laser shot out of her finger. The whirlpool was gone.
Jessica swam to the other side before she noticed the whirlpool coming
back. Turning around, her friends were nowhere to be found.
“Jessica!” Leila’s voice said, “Are you okay? We couldn’t go through. My
magic wasn’t strong enough.”
“Go on without us,” Jessica heard Crystal say. “Defeat the water dragon
and save the dolphins. We will wait for you.”
Jessica nodded and swam as quickly as she could to the castle.
6
As Jessica moved on, she finally saw the water dragon. It had scary red eyes.
But then Qika suddenly appeared beside Jessica.
“We meet again. Let me help you defeat the dragon,” the mermaid said.
Qika cast a spell and Jessica could feel her power strengthen with magic. The
Queen then disappeared once again.
The dragon charged forward, revealing its sharp teeth. Jessica quickly
swam up and shot a purple laser at the dragon’s eye.
“ROOOAAARRR!” The dragon tried to bite Jessica on the legs.
“Yikes!” Jessica exclaimed.
Suddenly the dragon became smaller and smaller. It didn’t have red eyes
anymore. The evil spell was gone from its body!
Jessica swam on.
7
When Jessica finally arrived to the castle, she swam to where the dolphins were.
Fortunately they were safe and unharmed. She used her remaining powers to
open the locked gates and the dolphins swam happily back to their home.
“I am proud of you, Jessica,” says Qika’s voice that rang in Jessica’s ears.
“You’ve managed to complete a difficult mission. And as a gift, I would grant you
the ability to become a mermaid whenever you please.”
“Thank you, Qika. Now I will return back to where my friends are waiting,”
Jessica said to herself and swam back to where the giant whirlpool was.
8
It was quite hard to find the place at first, since the whirlpool suddenly
disappeared.
But when she finally found them, they swam quickly to each other and
Jessica hugged Leila tightly.
“I knew you could do it! You defeated the water dragon!” Leila exclaimed.
“You took too long though,” Crystal muttered. Jessica softly punched the
dolphin in the stomach, laughing.
“Let’s go, I’m getting hungry,” Jessica said. The trio laughed again and they
all swam back to the shore.
9
After the group turned back to their original forms, Leila waved goodbye as she
flew towards her Candy Castle. Jessica and Crystal waved back. Then they headed
back, Jessica telling Crystal her amazing battle with the dragon as they slowly
walked home. Before their day ended, Jessica and Crystal had planned to visit the
beach again to swim with the dolphins. They already knew that they would never
forget the adventure they just had.
10
Jessica is a cheerful girl with supernatural powers, and she
has a flying pet hamster called Crystal. One fine day, they
encounter a queen mermaid who asks for their help to save
the captured dolphins far north, where an evil dragon
guards the entrance to the castle.
Would Jessica and Crystal be able to save the dolphins
and defeat the big, scary dragon?
