PSAS Pilot IS: PSAS Pilot IS:
Data driven NOTmanually operated
Community led (we are JC residents just like you) + City supported (mayor’s office and JCPD) NOT a government nor private-company led program
Set to operate within national, state and city safety policies and guidelines
NOT using Personally Identifiable Information (PII), nor putting residents/ JCPD at risk
Trend-based for periods of time (eg. weekly) NOT focused on emergency nor real-time information
Property crimes specific (burglary, robbery, larceny (theft), vandalism) NOT focused on personal crimes (assault, homicide, battery, etc)
Delivers insights-based public safety recommendations and reminders to help keep you safe. NOTmeant to provide direct data on crime incidents
1. Find trends in the JCPD data2. Inform residentshow to remain safe and alert based on the crime trends
3. Demonstrate a valuable useof JC’s open data impacting quality of life
4. Encourage and strengthenresident-to-police relationship in JC, despite the current tense conditions in cities (e.g. Ferguson, Baltimore)
5. Provide a platform for Jersey City government to collaborate with and support residents
