there was a frog

called

Mr. Jeremy Fisher;

liked getting

his feet wet;

scolded him,

caught a cold!

when he looked out

and saw large

drops of rain,

splashing

in the pond-

a dish of minnows

for my dinner,"

white horse-hair,

and he tied

a little wriggling

the lily leaf

and tweaked

the toe of one

of his galoshes.

crossed his legs

up shorter,

out of reach,

and went

on eating

his sandwich.

with a rustle

and a splash

amongst

the rushesat the side

of the pond.

the boat out again

a little way,

and dropped

in the bait.

almost directly;

bobbit!

jerking up his rod.

a smooth fatminnow,

Mr. Jeremy landedlittle Jack Sharp,

the stickleback,covered

with spines!

about the boat,

pricking

and snapping

until he was quiteout of breath.

with a splash--

and it seizedMr. Jeremy

and dived downto the bottom

of the pond!

the trout wasso displeased

with the taste

of the mackintosh,

that in less than

half a minuteit spat

him out again;

was Mr. Jeremy's

galoshes.

bounced up

to the surface

of the water,

like a cork

and the bubblesout of a soda

water bottle;
