Amos 5:15 Hate the evil, and love the good, and establish judgment in

God hates sin because He is holy
Ezekiel 7:1-9

I. Jehovah-Nakah reveals God’s severity and
judgement upon sin.
Eph 4:26 Be ye angry, and sin not: let not the
sun go down upon your wrath:
Isaiah 1:4 Ah sinful nation, a people laden with iniquity, a
seed of evildoers, children that are corrupters: they have
forsaken the LORD, they have provoked the Holy One of Israel unto anger, they are gone away
backward.
A. God blesses for obedience and chastises
for disobedience

B. God hates the sin of idolatry to the point of
anger

C. Israel was smitten for not harkening to the

II. Jehovah-Nakah never smites until his mercy and longsuffering are

A. God will judge but He is patient and
longsuffering with man

III. Jehovah-Nakah is to be greatly feared by
those who walk contrary to His word
A. The Lord chastises His people for their own
good

B. He does not chastise the unsaved when His
longsuffering is exhausted but rather
punishes
Ephesians 1:7-9
Rev 19:15 And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of
iron: and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and
wrath of Almighty God.
God chastises His people, but punishes the
unsaved.
Micah 7:18 Who is a God like unto thee, that pardoneth
iniquity, and passeth by the transgression of the remnant of
his heritage? he retaineth not his anger for ever, because he
