It means that we can care for your loved one on a short-term basis so that you can have some quality time to yourself knowing that the person you are caring for is being well looked after.

Personal and individual careBecause the Jean Marion Cottage is a small, welcoming suburban home, it has the flexibility to offer creative, individualised care to the person you are caring for.

Before benefiting from this HammondCare Respite Cottage, you and your loved one are encouraged to meet with our service manager to discuss the suitability of the service for you as well as your individual needs and expectations.

How does it work?Who is eligible?This service is available to people living in the Central Coast area who are primary carers of frail older people, including people living with dementia. Please see details on the back of this brochure to contact our service manager for details on how to apply.

What does it cost?Fees are negotiable and can be discussed with the service manager. No carer would be discriminated against because of their inability to pay.

How can HammondCare help you?Our managers will:

• Discuss and guide you through the referral process with My Aged Care, if required

• Discuss your situation with you as the carer, to identify your issues and concerns

• Consult with you to develop a plan of care according to your needs and also those of the care recipient

• Provide helpful service information and ongoing support that will add value to your caring role.

The Cottage offers short-term overnight respite care for your loved one in a home-like environmentOur commitment is to deliver an individual and personal plan of care for your loved one that adds value to the lives of both the carer and the care recipient.

Our individual care planning offers choice and flexibility.

This means that as a carer, you now have the opportunity to have some quality time to yourself knowing that the person you care for is being well looked after by an experienced and committed provider.

We understand that everyone’s situation is different, this is an opportunity to have a break from your usual caring role and offer your loved one a setting in which their choices are our priority.
