    Fear not, o triumphant one!

The trait ofundaunted triumph that marksJayasrees identity was prophesied by Rabindranath Tagore at the moment of its conception.

These words of Tagore, inspired by the life of the rebelling editor, were attributed to the periodical as its banner, at the

    commencement of its journey.

Jayasree was founded in 1931 at the juncture of the armed revolution and mass movement in colonized India, in the rush of

materialistic theories that began to shape its economic, social and political liberation. It was established by the revolutionist Anil Roy

and the founder editor Leela Roy on a firm and resilient foundation, who nurtured it to develop into a robust, self-assured organization.

Empowered by the indomitable spirit, Jayasree is paving her way for a promising future even today.

As Jayasree was born, agitation continued in the form of revolutionary acts led by Mastarda Surya Sen, the corridor fight of the trio

Binoy, Badal and Dinesh at Dalhousie Square, the imprisonment and subsequent release of Anil Roy and Leela Roy, their participation in

Congress on a national level along with pledging allegiance to the leadership of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose, and the foundation of

Forward Bloc. Jayasree provided commentaries on all such crucial incidents. It soon transformed from being a voice for womens

liberation to being the voice of the rebelling masses.

On its 50th anniversary (1981)Jayasree Foundation was set up to incorporate the periodicals thoughts and actions into a research and

social welfare based cultural organization. On the birth centennial of Netaji (1997), a research centre was established to study Netaji

and to infuse thoughts on national development. To further enhance these ideas, sincere efforts to set up a reference library, a

museum and a well-organized course of study has been in place at Bijoygarh (Kolkata), the office of Jayasree Foundation.

However such efforts require large funds. We seek your generous support in our noble endeavour. This would certainly be an important

part of fulfilling Jayasrees identity of the triumphant.
