MY CULTURE

"I live in Australia . My cultural background is Vietnamese, Vietnamese culture is very diverse and unique. For every family there is different and separate customs.

"My parents came here in year 1985 for a better life, my dad came first by boat and then my dad sponsored my mum. My parents came because they were extremely poor and needed to move or they wouldn't of made it.

My parents came because they were extremely poor and needed to move or they wouldn't of made it. On the boat my dad faced many dangers which included starvation and risk of pirates which he encountered in the first few days, they took 4 passengers and stole the whole supply of food.

MUSIC OF MY CULTURAL BACKGROUND

• I like the music of my cultural background because it is very unique and diverse as they created their own variety of instruments which are unique to their style of sound. The music has become such a huge commodity because of the rarity of the instruments and the difficulty of the instruments

MY OPINION ON VIETNAMESE MUSIC

• This music makes the audience feel relaxed and comfortable. It has slow tempo to go with the atmosphere of the music. The music has moments of very high and low pitch to create a feeling of different moods. This music is accustomed to big celebrations and family gathering which gives the music a positive connotation to me.
