Location

• Japan is an island nation in East Asia.• Located in the Pacific ocean, it lies to the east

of the Sea of Japan

• Japan is an archipelago of 6825 islands. The four main islands (from North to South) of Japan are:

• Hokkaido• Honshu• Shikoku• Kyushu

Climate

• The climate of Japan is predominantly temperate, but varies greatly from north to south.

• The highest temperature ever measured in Japan was 40.9 °C and it was recorded on August 16, 2007

Japanese houses

• Traditional Japanese houses are built by erecting wooden columns on top of a flat foundation made of packed earth or stones

• In order to avoid moisture from the ground, the floor is elevated several tens of centimeters

• In Japan the houses are normally made of plywood (a type of manufactured wood made from thin sheets of wood)

• The highest estimates suggest that 84–96 percent of the Japanese population are Buddhists

• These estimates are based on people associated with a temple, rather than the number of people truly following the religion

• They were warriors who not feared death.• They give a lot of value to the honor and the

loyalty

• Japan is known all over the world by its sushi.• Sushi is made of cooked vinegared rice

combined with other ingredients, such as fish or other seafood

Clothes

• Nowadays we see japanese wearing clothes like ours, but in the past they were a type of clothes named kimonos

• Kimonos can be used to practice martial arts or to use at home like a rob
