It has 8 regions and over 3,000 islands

The capital of Japan is Tokyo

Primary, secondary, and university were introduced in Japan in 1872

Only primary school, elementary and middle, are required to be completed by children

Almost all go to attend the 3 year high school and about 75.9% attend a university or equivalent

University of Tokyo and Keio University are the highest ranked and most popular universities

Japanese food is known for its seasoning, quality of ingredients, and presentation

During the Heian period(795 to 1185 AD), the use of chopsticks were introduced by China

The most common foods apart of Japan’s national cuisine is rice, noodles, and bread.

The most common know Japanese food in America is sushi, mainly made of raw fish, rice, seaweed, and tofu

Japan attacked America in 1942, it was a key factor in World War II

This surprise military attack is noted as the “Attack on Pearl Harbor” which was conducted by the Japanese Navy

This attack was intended to prevent USA from influencing a war against the Netherlands, Great Britain, and the USA

The first official word of the attack came from the Commander in Chief Pacific and was sent to all naval commands and fleet ships

Cherry blossom trees originated in many Asian states, one being Japan

Japan gifted 3,020 cherry blossom trees to America in 1912 as a sign of

They were re-gifted in 1965 because the original ones were infested with bugs

These trees were planted in Washington, DC along the title basin

In Japan they call these trees sakura(sah koo rah), which means “Japanese flowering cherry”
